Probably another reason that Kimber is priced so high or any custom rebuild or 1911 built from scratch. If you have it done by one of the better gun smiths, you're going to have a longer waiting period in either getting work done or getting the full custom built to your specs. Some gunsmiths have 6 months to a 2 year waiting period depending on who they are. When someone is selling a top of the line gun done by one of these guys, you're also paying that you're getting it right on the spot instead of waiting a year or two for it. They are still overpriced but this is one of the reasons they get so much money. JMO...

I sold it to trim down my collection ... great pistol and Bob is a nice guy. When I was working I went nuts buying a bunch of high end 1911's.. Being retired for 2 years now money is tight and have sold some of my pistols....

I paid around $3000 for a FULL CUSTOM that was built from scratch ... using over size slide & frame ...built by as good or better gunsmith. JMO That Kimber is over priced and you are paying for ego rights. Here is 2 Test Targets 10 shot groups at 50 yards in a ranson rest. ?Exceptionally Accurate and Reliable Custom Pistols? Got 5 Phone calls tonight from guys from Mass that I worked with for a long time. I was a Correction Officer in Enfield CT and worked with many who lived in Mass. Enfield CT has a bunch of Correctional Institutions that are very near the Mass line. All the calls where the same in how much they HATE President Barack Obama and his administration. Great to here from friends who think the same way I do.......
