Thinking of getting an XDM 45 or 9 You can buy one from them and they do a XDM Trigger Job Stainless Steel Pin Set Sight Installation Barrel Work Re-crown Barrel At 11 Degrees Build your Own Custom XD/XDM I like shooting at 25 yards and wondering what kind of groups an XDM with this kind of work done will group at 25 or even 50 yards. I called him but asking a person who sells something may not be the best person to get honest information. I also talked to springer precision and Canyon Creek. Not sure if it's worth the money to put into one.

Hickok45 sure has the ZEN IN SHOOTING !!!!!
-
My shooting was not very good 8 years ago. I found this a few years back and also use to learn from 2 Bullseye shooters where I use to shoot. ZEN IN SHOOTING: Encyclopedia of Bullseye Pistol Deceptively simple in appearance, yet vastly complex is the art of pistol shooting. Without question, its mechanics are simple. Bill Joyner explains, "Create a machine rest with your stance, grip and breath control. Then with the gun in the machine rest, apply [trigger] pressure directly to the rear until the hammer falls." Attaining the physical prowess to accomplish this task is one thing. However, the mind's influence makes the process a bit more difficult. As Frank Higginson has said, "In shooting, you learn more about yourself than any other sport." This self-discovery that exists in shooting is nothing more than Zen itself. "Kenjuudo" Kenjuudo, literally translated as the "Way of the Pistol," is the appropriate Japanese name for our sport when practiced as a traditional Zen martial art.

JMO and nothing else Comes down to the Indian rather than the bow. A good clean trigger and sights that you like Good Ammo Any decent 1911 will out shoot 99.99% of all shooters. Check out how they look & feel DON'T go by what others will tell you is the BEST... MOST ACCURATE ... MOST RELIABLE I take what others say now with a grain of salt. what kind of shooting 25 yard 50 yard ?? Carry or just for range I shoot at 25 meters 99% of my range time and there is not much of a difference in my groups when using a Baer ... Brown .. Wilson or Nighthawk Now 50 yards you will notice a difference Customer Service Wilson and Nighthawk are very good I have talked to Les Baer a few times and he is decent to deal with. Ed Browns son Jason has always been nice to deal with. There are now many good out of the box production 1911 that are accurate and reliable. plus even if you change out a few parts on a production pistol it's still much less than a semi custom. Nighthawk and Wilsons prices have gone way up and look around in buying them for the best price. George is a good friend and he has excellent prices on 1911's The list prices are not what you pay Gunslingers - Your Source for Quality Firearms Good luck and make sure you know what you want before you order one or buy it as is. I write down what I want before I order one Naked Slide Solid Trigger and so on.... in the past I rushed and was sorry later I did not get it the way I wanted. I got a few 1911's from Guns & Leather they are great to deal with and have a nice selection of 1911's on hand.

They are in every state and like others have stated stay away if you can. I knew just about every gang leader back in CT, from working in corrections for 25 years. I saw a gang kill a guy in the yard for something his Brother did a few months before. They have there code and trust me the serious groups will do what it takes. A friend of mine along with 2 other officers almost got killed by a gang years ago. A LT's, Mothers house got sprayed with bullets one summer night because we shipped out gang members to another location and that screwed up the travel time for there family and friends for there visits. Best to avoid the real deal gangs but there are many who sell wolf tickets and are nothing to worry about.

Too often a dog that someone THOUGHT was going to be a great addition to the family turns out to not quite be so and off they go to a shelter or the pound. Yet Another Rescue Dog. There are so many cast-off pets in shelters today because people simply do not want to live up to the responsibility that led them to get the pets in the first place. Be 100% sure you know what you are in for Barking Vet Bills Dog Food walking them or have a fence in your yard. I have 5 Dogs they are a BIG Responsibility but I knew that and all is GOOD at my house.

Hilton Yam "Firing pin safeties typically fall into the Colt Series 80 pattern which are actuated by the trigger (Colt Series 80, Para Ordnance, Sig GSR) and the Swartz style safety which is actuated by the grip safety (Kimber, Smith & Wesson). Of all the firing pin safety mechanisms on the market, the original Colt Series 80 - in a Colt - is the most reliable of them all. The platforms utilizing the Swartz safety are a less than ideal choice across the board due to the inherent reliability problems of the design. The Swartz safety is extremely sensitive to the fit of the grip safety to the frame and the timing of the grip safety's trigger blocking arm. Tolerance issues can also lead to a Swartz safety that will time properly when the grip safety is depressed a certain way, and time differently when depressed a different way. This will typically be a product of loose fit of the grip safety to the frame tangs and/or loose fit of the thumb safety shaft through the grip safety. It is possible to have the grip safety timed such that the trigger will be able to release the sear well before the firing pin safety plunger has been moved far enough to clear the firing pin. Problems with improper timing of the Swartz safeties can lead to a situation where you get a "click" when you wanted a "bang." That's a serious problem. Unless department policy mandates a firing pin safety, I would choose a 1911 without one. It is possible to have a drop safe 1911 without the firing pin safety, and given the potential reliability problems with a poorly executed system, the perceived risk of drop safety is outweighed by the real risk of a failure to fire."

Strained or torn quadriceps anyone have experience with them?
Kano replied to a topic in General Chat
RICE rule: Rest the injured muscle (take a temporary break from sports activities). Ice the injured area to reduce swelling. Compress the muscle with an elastic bandage. Elevate the injured leg. In addition, you can take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and other brand names) or aspirin, to ease pain and relieve swelling. As pain gradually subsides, your doctor may recommend a rehabilitation program to restore the normal range of motion in your leg and to gradually strengthen the injured muscle. If you have a Grade II strain, you may need to be evaluated by a specialist, such as an orthopedist, will be appropriate. To allow the injured muscle to heal, you may need to wear a cast for a number of weeks. If you have a Grade III strain in your leg, the torn muscle may need to be repaired surgically by an orthopedic specialist. One exception is a Grade III plantaris strain, which usually is treated without surgery. When To Call a Professional Call your doctor promptly if: You hear or feel a pop in your leg muscle at the time of injury You have severe pain, swelling or discoloration in the injured muscle Your injured leg is obviously weak compared to your uninjured leg You have difficulty walking You have milder leg symptoms that do not improve after 48 hours Prognosis The outlook depends on the location and severity of the muscle strain. In general, almost all Grade I strains heal within a few weeks. Grade II strains may take two to three months. After surgery to repair a Grade III strain, most people regain normal leg muscle function after several months of rehabilitation. Additional Info Symptoms Symptoms of a strained leg muscle can include: Muscle pain and tenderness, especially after an activity that stretches or violently contracts the muscle. Pain usually increases when you move the muscle, but it is relieved by rest. Local muscle swelling, black and blue discoloration or both Either a decrease in muscle strength or (in a Grade III strain) a complete loss of muscle function Difficulty walking A pop in the muscle at the time of injury A gap, dent or other defect in the normal outline of the muscle (Grade III strain) Diagnosis Your doctor will want to know what activity triggered your leg pain and whether there was a pop in the muscle when you injured it. The doctor also will ask about your symptoms, especially any decreased muscle strength or difficulty walking. To confirm a diagnosis, the doctor will examine you. If the results of your exam point to Grade I or II muscle strain, you probably will not need any additional testing. However, if the diagnosis is in doubt, X-rays or a magnetic resonance imaging scan may be necessary. Also, in calf muscle injuries, Doppler studies may be done to check for a blood clot. Expected Duration Most Grade I or Grade II strains begin to feel better within a few days. In most cases, symptoms are either totally gone, or very much improved, within 8 to 10 weeks. Symptoms of a Grade III strain may last until the torn muscle is repaired surgically. -
