I always use a white crayon. Degrease the slide first (alcohol, brake cleaner) and just rub it with the crayon. After I use a bit of gun oil on the slide to clean the excess away, and presto.

I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago. The kid who asked motioned to go for her bag, I stepped in front of him immediately and asked him what he thought he was doing. After him explaining how everyone has to do this, I demanded a manager. In short, I did exactly what Jonnin suggested. The manager let us pass. That is the last time I will be going there after that. Furthermore, I am pretty sure their posting is not in compliance. Regardless, I was just as armed as I always am while there.

This is exactly what I have always understood. I have had younger folks message me on sales, but I simply am not willing to sell to someone who is not 21 just to be safe.

I'll toss out a different option. I am a huge fan of XS big dot sights, I have a set on both a G26 and a G17. Excellent sights.

Ha. Yes, I get that and support it as I stated. Wherever. This topic is one that people will argue till they are blue in the face because they have nothing better to get behind. I'm out on this one.

I freaking love when things like this happen in America. We are such a spoiled group of folks that a simple statement from the founder of a fast food joint has caused a hornets nest worth of debate to erupt. Really, we have so few problems that this has sparked something, that at the end of the day is a child like argument. Who the hell cares what some dude said, or frankly whatever the hell anyone else thinks. If you are gay, be gay. Straight, be straight. Having plenty of both gay and straight friends, none of them can tell me why this is such a big deal and everyone's panties are in such a wad. I'd stand and fight for any persons right to speech. But damn. I feel like everyone should be required to spend some time in a third world country; Uganda, Somolia, Sudan, Kenya, etc. and learn what a real problem it can been just to find clean water. If you learn lessons like that, petty crap like who can marry who or what have you becomes just that - petty. Seriously, who at the end of the day is going to lose sleep because gays can get married. Your religious and ethical systems will still stand. Its not like a government mandate allowing gay marriage is just going to shatter the foundation of Christendom. To clarify, I say that as a devout and conservative Catholic. I don't care what anyone else does, at the end of the day, my Church and my faith are still the same. So really, what gives?

I went but didn't get checked. Had they requested to check me, I likely would have told them to pound sand. -

I have a 1911 magazine my grandfather had kept loaded for over 30 years. The mag spring has never been changed, it still works flawlessly.

If you are willing to drive a bit outside of Knoxville, Frontier I feel has a pretty decent range. It's a hell of a lot better than Coal Creek, Frontier has lighting and everything.

Direct just dropped Viacom channels (Comedy Central for one).

A simple "I don't have to answer that" and "no thanks" were all that was required. I honestly get pissed to no end when people pull the Nazi card out of the hat.

Have two and I love them. Excellent system.

So earlier this year I donated a bit of money to the Romney campaign. Not much, just $100. Ever since, I have been called every two weeks (or more frequently) from a campaigner for Romney droning on and on with anti-Obama rhetoric as a sales pitch for another donation. Whenever I do accidentally answer the phone without checking the caller ID (which shows up as UNKNOWN - this really irks me) I explain my circumstances that I have donated all I can. This always seems to just piss off the person on the other end at which point they start hurriedly asking for a pledge for future donations. I appreciate that they are trying to raise money for a campaign, and probably hold some of the same values I do but damn. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm honestly getting so damn annoyed with these people I may just toss my vote elsewhere. My only reason for supporting Romney is that he is not Obama, but he is a far cry from what we need.

28 Days Later 'zombies' are by far the creepiest horror beings I have ever seen. Regular zombies, not at all.

I am shocked he is still alive. According to the article it was a .44 (did not specify magnum or special). -

Agreed. Short of it being a hang fire and a very inexperienced shooter who might be dumb enough to look down the barrel 'to see whats going on.' I dont really see how it could have been an accident. -

I was walking in the shop today right as police were rolling in. I couldn't really gather exactly how it happened as I left the building pretty quick to get out of KPDs way. -
Saw this on Tosh. It was pure win. However, I agree. He is lucky he was not injured or killed,

If stuck in any major city I would attempt to hunker down for as long as possible. Since I am single and have no personal connections to speak of, I would be able to stretch my resources for quite some time. I would remain in the city for up to two weeks. After that,I would try and make my way to my family land here in East Tennessee from Atlanta. If gridlock occurred during SHTF I would take my bicycle for transportation. All of this is contingent on certain variables. Is there immediate danger to me in the city? Am I dealing with nuclear fallout, EMP, civil unrest, or similar situation? I will not even entertain the zombie possibility. I am SICK to death (no pun) of the phenomenon. It was cool when it was niche. Regardless I would travel alone, or possibly with one other if the situation dictated it, but I would prefer not. I can move faster, and if operating by myself, I am left to my own devices and code of ethics to govern my actions. As for weapons, if I am left with only ONE gun and ONE blade, I would pick: Ruger 10/22 take-down. It is stainless, and synthetic, hence weatherproof (mostly). I have many high capacity magazines available. The round and rifle are lightweight and can be tailored to many situations. Given that I would be traveling some distance I would want to stay out of the way of folks and mostly try to blend, this weapon is easily hidden due to its break down nature, but quickly pulled into action. It is more than capable of taking game or serving in a defensive role. ESEE Junglas. It is an extremely capable blade. If pressed into a survival role I can process food, wood, really whatever I need. Though it is a bit heavy, it can be pressed into a combat role with great efficiency, so It would serve well here. My Cold Steel Recon Scout would be a close second. So, I would wait out the chaos of whatever has gone down assuming it is reasonably safe for me to remain where I am for a period of two weeks or so until it starts to die down and then make my way 'home'. The Ruger 10/22 and ESEE Junglas would serve well with my strategy of lone, fast, light travel while still maintaining plenty of capabilities.
