I went there with my girlfriend a while back. We drove, so I didn't have to worry about checking baggage and carry on. That being said while in Chicago I carried a good SD light and a Spyderco Paramilitary 2. I realize the Paramilitary is outside of Chicagos knife laws which I believe limit blade size to 2.5 inches. Perhaps when you land you could pick up a decent blade at walmart or some such to carry on your person?

While the ticket was ridiculous, canning an officer with an 18 year record seems a bit harsh as well. I feel a suspension or some form of internal punishment, along with dropping the ticket would have been justice. But that's based only on what was said in the article.

Gotta get me some of that Obama Phone.

Not to mention what I sure would be an absolutely blinding flash at night.

In concept, I love AR pistols. My only problem with it is while it would be an excellent CQC weapon, if I did not have hearing protection, I would be totally disoriented after a couple shots. I tried one without hearing protection once and instantly ruled that I would never own one because of that. My .02

I am all for changing the way our country works, but this is simply not the way to do it. Perhaps I am out of touch, or just unwilling to accept the 'truth'. I think anyone who genuinely believes this half-assed attempt at a succession is a good idea is freaking out of their mind. You have no idea the kind of hell that would be brought upon us (read: YOU) in a matter of days. It would not be fun, revolutionary, or whatever idealistic viewpoint you have on it. Anyone who signs this has never set foot into a third world country, and you should if you are foolish enough to want this. If you did, you wouldn't dream of such a stupid idea.

I faced that decision a while back. I went with more ammo and mags. I can't justify another firearm when I don't have enough of what I need to run my primary effectively for a long period of time, if necessary.

I told my now girlfriend of many years when we starred dating that I always carry, cited a reason or two, and asked if it would be a problem before our first date. Honestly if carry is important to you and indeed part of you, be upfront. My unwillingness to sacrifice carrying is right up there with my unwillingness to sacrifice my moral and religious beliefs in a relationship. May as well make it known early.

I she likes a semi auto then let her go for that. My girlfriend can run a Glock better than many cops I know. And she is NOT a gun person, just well practiced. I am of the belief that a defense gun should have as many rounds of the most potent caliber a person can run efficiently. Let her decide what she likes best and it will be the best possible experience for her.

Be careful, those things multiply like rabbits.

I think people will blame absolutely anyone they can to justify their anger that their man lost. I do not believe that even if independents voted for either a Republican or Democrat it would have made any difference. There were not enough independent votes in Ohio or Virginia to have made a difference one way or another. Those states still would have gone to Obama. Even if Romney won Florida, he still would have lost. Hell, Romney could have taken Ohio and Florida and STILL lost. If you want to hold on to a theory that independents cost Romney the election, go grab yourself a calculator and look at each individual states results. He lost, move on. I have owned all of them. Out of those options I would pick a single ten myself. I just happen to love single action revolvers, they just have that classic feel (though the single ten is pushing it). I find they are all more accurate than I am, especially if you are using quality ammunition. If you can, find examples of each and practice with them.

You do indeed have to destroy the brain. If you simply decapitate the zombies then their brain remains intact and they still bite.

My current EDC is a Gen 4 19. Before that it was a Gen 3. Before that it was a Gen 2. You simply cannot go wrong with the model 19.
