I'm sure there will be plenty of "extras" if you need a second or third. If you shoot something compatible with a G19 I will have some spares. I think there is also going to be Glock parts for sale (including magazines) but I don't know prices. Look forward to having you join us!

JG55-I believe you can register on site for both GSSF and the match. In fact, as a "new member" you are entered in a drawing for either a pistol or cash (I think). 3 strings means you engage the targets 3 times. Non Major Sub is 2 shot to each target plus how ever many to knock down the steel. Round counts are very low though. Total minimum is 81 or so for the whole course of fire. major Sub is larger caliber (.45) and some of the smaller capacity pistols.

(This may have already been posted but I couldn't find anything in a search) FRANKLIN — Franklin resident Chris Reed is the "Top Shot." The self-proclaimed “country boy from the cotton fields of the Mississippi Delta†outdid 15 skilled competitors in a battery of grueling challenges to win a $100,000 prize package on HISTORY's "Top Shot.†In its second season, "Top Shot" pits 16 of the nation's major shooters against each other in various challenges. Those who hit targets accurately advance in the competition, while those who miss the bull's-eye are eliminated. The 37-year old Realtor was up against formidable competition: a 10-time NRA pistol champ, a cop, an Air Force sniper, a Bronze Star recipient and marksmen from four branches of the military, among others. Weapons ranged from Tommy guns, sniper rifles and .44 Magnums to tomahawks and blow guns. Prior to "Top Shot," Reed was runner up in Field & Stream’s 2009 Total Outdoorsman Challenge and winner of numerous state and national championships in both archery and long rifle. He is a Marine Corps honor graduate. Reed still hasn't decided how he wants to spend the $100,000 prize package but says he will “most likely invest in furthering his children’s education.†Franklin realtor wins 'Top Shot' reality show | The Tennessean | tennessean.com

No, just took my lumps and went on. Had only one target left...actually not even sure how I faired on the stage. Headed to the range one day this week to see if it goes 'BANG' properly. [fingers crossed] -

Any plans for more airsoft events? Have several friends from East TN who are very active and I'd like to try my hand at it but I'm not available the 22nd.

+1 on Glock 19. If you can, visit a shooting range (or two or three) that rents guns. This way you can "try before you buy." Just because folks here recommend one over the other or have great suggestions, what works for them may not work for you in the end. That's how I chose my G19. I shot several makes and models at an indoor range and thought the compact 9mm was a good choice for my first pistol (fit, feel, cost of ammo).

+1 on MCTS. I started shooting for the first time in August '10 and shot my first match wtih Music City in November...it's a blast. No matter your skill level, a great group of people. Plus, it places a greater emphasis on your gun handling and defensive measures vs. just shooting at a target on a range.

Decent show so far but the one Game Warden who stopped the car of five "landscapers" was just a tad arrogant..maybe it's a California thing but he didn't have to be so smug about it.....even if they were "landscaping."
