I recently bought a ruger American ranch in 5.56. They have threaded 16 inch barrels and also come in 300 black out. I've been using mine as a range toy but it would be great for a truck gun.

TN Bill to remove restrictions on knife possession and carry

this is exactly what I believe our wonderful governor is going to do. He is campaigning already. -
In 9mm the cartridge seats on the case mouth so they will have a taper crimp. If you use a roll crimp on them they won't seat properly.

Football team loses 91-0 and sues for being bullied
jb980 replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
It seems to me that the big bullying debate always hinges around social media not team sports. I don't see any reason for anyone under 18 to have any type of social media. I have never had an account with any of the social media outlets and don't miss it. If parents are truly worried about their children being bullied, then they shouldn't allow their kids to engage in any of the social media outlets. That being said, i don't have any use for a bully and in my experience they will always find a way to humiliate anyone they can. The coach in this instant did a good job of trying to minimize the embarrassment to the other team, but was unable to because his team out classed the other so badly. -
That is the funniest thing I've read in quite some time

I will tip well for good service, but if the service is bad the tip goes down, regardless of the food quality (the server didn't over cook your steak) This is at restaurants with actual servers, but at buffets and fast food I do not tip. And I can't stand to see tip jars except for when they're set up for the band or bartender. I have also called in a to go order at a restaurant and they added15-20% to the bill for gratuity. When this happens to me i won't be ordering take out from there again.

I have been gathering the materials to try this and was wondering if you could substitute alcohol or another liquid for the acetone. I never thought of laquor thinner though.

You might try a mercury recoil reducer on a 12ga. Most are easy to install and they aren't that expensive.

Left Attacks Crickett as "Child Porn" etc
jb980 replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The 22 ammo situation is outrageous right now. Usually when I go visit my grandparents I take my little cousin (he's about 10) a box or 2 of 22 ammo for him to pick up. If I take him too much at once he just uses the "spray and pray" method of marksmanship, but can really shoot good when his supply is low. His parents learned this quickly and started making him buy his own ammo with his allowance. No video games for this little boy, he would rather shoot. With prices the way they are now and his always limited supply of ammo he probably isn't getting to shoot much right now. The up side is I know of about 4 lgs that have some in stock, but they're kinda proud of it. Hopefully the supply will pick up soon. -
Jase is the man. He has some sense and is still a practical joker at heart.

Whoever invented the small primer 45ACP case....
jb980 replied to gregintenn's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I read in an article, I think in handloader, that spp cases produce smaller sd's than the lpp cases. I have no way of testing it but I have been separating them out for a time when I'm short on lpp's and have a surplus of spp's. -
I'm with you there. I have always thought Enders Game would make a great movie. I may have to read it again. It's been a couple of years.

Here is why Harry Reid voted "No" on S.649

Wow. 27 years in the senate. I wish that wasn't possible. -
6 years ago I priced field lines at $12 a foot + cost of the tank for places with easy digging. If the health department required a gravel type system the price went up to $14 a foot, which is what we charged for rocky places. Septic tanks costed about $600. This was our price back then, and we were one of the cheaper companies in our area, but we were able to do a job in about 2 days so we made good on them.

Late one night I loaded 300 or so 45 acp without turning the powder measure on while using a lee disk powder measure on a progressive press. Had to pull every one.

I've heard of doing this but never tried it myself. Pretty neat .

I just had to watch this again. I think I laughed more the second time around .

Looks like a learning experience to me. I would try to get the gun replaced by whoever sold the bullets, and give them the chance to make it right. If they replace the gun, then no harm done. And if the seller has any sense/decency they will stop selling this stuff before someone gets hurt. If they don't replace the gun I wouldn't sue, but I wouldn't do anymore business with them, and would let everyone know why. Like I said, learn from this. It was his decision to buy the ammo not knowing anything about it other than caliber. I'm not trying to be smart, but I think law suits are too often the answer to everyones problems. When someone makes a bad decision, ie buying and using cheap questionable ammo, it doesn't mean they deserve a pay day.

I recieved this email from J&G sales today. ANNOUNCING A NEW J&G POLICY ON SHIPPING RESTRICTED ITEMSFor immediate release:As state and local jurisdictions are increasingly passing laws which infringe upon the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, J&G Sales is implementing a new policy on shipping restricted items to these states and localities.Effective immediately, laws that restrict firearms, ammunition, or magazine possession by law abiding citizens will also be applied to state and local law enforcement and government agencies in that jurisdiction. All residents will be treated equally. Honorable citizens, law enforcement personnel, and government agents, should all be allowed to utilize the most effective defensive equipment available.J&G believes that there should not be a difference between the rights of citizens and those of government employees. This new policy will also help us to be sure we avoid the consequences of not conforming with the anti-firearm regulations in these various jurisdictions. We expect to lose some revenue from government purchases, however we feel it is essential to defend the US Constitution by making a statement about the importance of the Second Amendment in maintaining our freedoms. We await the day when all law abiding citizens will be able to possess the most effective means and tools available for self-defense regardless of where they live or for whom they work.Thank you Looks like more companies are jumping on the band wagon, but I imagine that there will probably be enough other companies that don't join in that the government agencies will still get their evil guns and magazines, but these companies are at least taking a stand.

No, it requires a rimmed cartridge. Like I said it shoots great with the reload I'm making with 38 s&w cases. The cases barely require any trimming, then run them through a 9mm luger sizing die using a 38 s&w shell holder ( also 38 special/ 357 magnum). Then load using .355 or .356 bullets and an appropriate powder charge.
