  1. The best investment you can make is a 3m eraser wheel. It makes getting the old tape a piece of cake. You can either use a hair dryer and heat them up then peel them off or get some 20lb test fishing line and work it in a sawing motion behind the emblems. It will cut right through them. Goof of will take the leftover film/residue off.
  2. Wow I would have enver expeceted that. I am used to the astronomical prices at the toyota parts ocunter though haha. I have never been to the Chevy dealer. I figure I will take one day and ride around and let a few folks look at it and get some quotes. Any ideas what a job like this might run me?
  3. Heres the short version. I normally take all of the emblems off of any vehicle I get at some time or another. Well this weekend I debadged my silverado as well as pulled the moulding off of the doors. The passenger side looks great but to my horror one side of the door looks like maybe the paint tech put the moudling on before the clear coat dried. I have about a paint layer thickness difference in where the moulding was and the rest of the paint. My question is this something that a good detail shop could wet sand and/or buff out or would I be looking and body shop type work?
  4. I wonder if you could make tiny targets that you could put in a skeet thrower and launch? Will a shotgun even make this stuff ignite? Just thinking outside the box here haha.
  5. I second that.
  6. Thanks to all who have offered to talk to me. After we dig a little more I will probably be giving some of you a call.
  7. HAHA I've heard that one before so you are not alone!   We may also consider adoption from foster care. This is substantially cheaper than newborn adoption. I don't want money to be the deciding factor in what we do but it will play a part.
  8. Well I must say adoption is expensive! I never realized it was THAT expensive though. I guess in the grand scheme of things it's nothing compared to what you recieve (and give to a child) by spending $20-$30k.) We will have all of our debt except for the house paid off when we decide to do this so it won't be difficult to get another loan for the amount. Thanks for all the advice so far guys. I have learned alot and plan on attending a meeting here soon to get more info.
  9. I'd make that trade. I have a 1400 ranger 20 gauge that is great for skeet shooting or messing around. It does hang up occasionally but I get more use out of it than I would a .25. I'd say it would be a trade up.
  10. Still loving my M&P9C. Now if only I had the nerve to go shoot it.....
  11. We have Dachshunds that are probably the most docile, friendly dogs ever but they have been known to fight over who gets the doggy pillow haha. Fenced in back yard---check. Gun safe--- on the list. Did you guys pick who would do your "home study" or did you let the state appoint someone?
  12. Thanks Hersh. I will definately check those out tonight.
  13. Thanks I might take you up on that once we get our feet a little more wet.
  14. I haven't even contacted anyone about it yet other than looking around online so I am not sure. We are still praying about it and soul searching about it.
  15. Thanks for the compliment man. The wife and I have been trying to have one for almost two years now with no luck. The doc said we could have one for sure if we had to go en-vitro (sp?) While I would like to have a child of our own blood as well I can't shake the feeling that we need to look into this. It broke my heart to wade through the TN list of children up for adoption. Anywhere from 7 up to 17 and all of them have probably been in the system for quite some time.
  16. Either way this looks like it would be a viable excuse to buy a nice safe to replace my cheap gun cabinet.
  17.   Haha that's the biggest thing. Not really for pride but just for the fact that I don't want to "lie" on an application or interview like that. I think I'd be more comfortable being 100% honest about everything.
  18. The wife and I have been looking into adopting a child for a little while now and I am trying to get some first hand experience with someone who has done this in TN. Any and all stories, experiences, advice, etc. will be appreciated. One of my biggest concerns is with guns being in the house and on my side most of the time. If I am correct then the state will send someone out to do a study on us and see if we are capable in the state's eyes of raising a child. Obviously I will have all of my guns locked up when/if we do this but am still wondering if it will negatively affect our chances just by having guns in the house.
  19. I'm sure they will get the job done. I carried them when I had a .40.
  20. Can't get the link to work but if these are the ones I'm thinking of. I saw them pretty cheap and in stock a few months ago at bass pro. Not sure if they were for 25 or 50 though. I believe these were the low-recoil hydrashoks. Maybe folks don't like them or something.
  21. I voted no for personal preference but I don't see any reason to be scared of doing so if you are sure of your loading abilities.
  22. Just planted our garden box yesterday. Tomoatoes, bannana peppers, squash, eggplant, bell peppers and cucumbers. I too had to utilize the chicken wire but not because of pests. My dogs think it is their sand box haha.
  23. My theory behind them is that they aren't meant to provide holster protection but rather keep the gun oriented up and down in the back pocket and not print. Trying to reinvent the wheel IMO.
  24. I have never heard of them being illegal but we have had one or two discussions on here about them. Most on here were against using them including me.
