  1. Yeah I have been looking at those Vortex. Alot of folks seem to like them. This being my first red dot I am just wanting to keep it cheap but not cheap. You know.... have my cake and eat it too. TTOG had the Barska red dot listed as the best bang for your buck if it was strictly going on a .22. I may give it a shot. For $36 shipped it'd be hard to lose.
  2. Someone school me on these things. What is the correct terminology to use when comparing the barrel/rifle scope style red dots to the open Eotech looking red dots? Any pros and cons between the two. It probably won't make a difference in my price range but I just don't know. Having that big ol' rail on top of the Neos is just calling out for me to put something on it! haha
  3. As the title states I am looking for an inexspensive but sturdy red dot for my .22. It is mainly just for my enjoyment so I don't need it to withstand tours in the sandbox or anything but do want it to hold zero well and not break in a week. If anyone has experience with the less expensive (under $80) red dots then let me know please! I would really like the "open" style red dots as opposed to the barrel/scope style.
  4. Well I have roughly 275 linear feet which is about 100 foot over what I though I had. That total up to around $3500. Probably closer o $4000........ Kind of busted my bubble as I was thinking around $1000-$1500. Everyone please give me a warm welcome to reality.     So I backed up to punt and decided to just redo the front portion of fence on either side of my house facing the road. One side already has a privacy fence up but they used some kind of ugly composite board and painted it a dull blue color. The other side is chain link and will be replace with wood with a gate/fence. Two questions:   1) Would you use cedar or pine for the fence pickets. Looks doesn't really matter as it will be stained. I want the longest lasting.   2) What is the "normal" width of a double gate. I don't want it so long and heavy that it will sag but want it as wide as possible. I will be using 6x6 posts for the gate post.
  5. I stand corrected.
  6. I would think they are probably just covering there tail on that one. I can't imagine any quality rim fire having trouble with ammo cycling too fast.
  7. Just ordered a box. Thanks!                                                   Kidding........
  8. I also have never had good luck with the lowes or HD wood itself. It just always seemed to be sub par to what you get at a lumber yard. Even the "high grade" stuff.
  9. I think from what I have heard that the contractors that use HD or Lowe's are always higher. I have noticed you can get far better pricing with the local lumber yard. I am sure I will end up going with my step dad if it isn't too bad . If so then I might just make a summer project out of it. $7.50 would be fine with me though!
  10. Congrats on the opportunity. Kids usually end up teaching you more than you teach them in my experience haha. But I gotta say it would have been awesome if we had a blacksmith at my summer camp. See ya when ya get back.
  11. I am looking to put up a 6' privacy fence in my back yard and am trying to get a general idea of what price I should expect to have it installed. I haven't measured yet as I just decided to do this this morning but I am figuring roughly 200 feet or less (probably less) of just the plain jane privacy fence. I don't really have the time to do it myself but if the cost will be significantly different then I may attempt it. Installed would be better for me though. My step father does carpentry work and is going to give me a quote as soon as I give him the length but I just really want to compare him to what most other people would charge. Any advice would be appreciated.   Just a side note; I have been known to shoot an airsoft gun or three in the backyard (city limits) and I don't want the neighbors calling the law on me. That's just one of the many reasons I love privacy fences.
  12. +1 Why ruin that clean looking rifle with a big ole' optic? But to answer your question if it were me I'd definitely go with a "traditional" style scope.
  13. Good video. Not only points out the intended fact but also why I carry an extra mag (or two). My clip suddenly feels inadequate haha.
  14. Also that must be a Glock .45 with that kind of stopping power.
  15. That guy has some balls drawing after already being drawn on! I probably would have froze. My situational awareness probably wouldn't have let me get into that position though.
  16. Great job! Subscribed.
  17. I haven' seen ammo on the shelves in Collierville Walmart in a while. The guy says "they" are scooping it up every morning.
  18. Be honest. Was the fingernail polish called "Zombie Green" or "Granny Smith Green"?
  19. True. The "scare" is still in full effect.
  20. Something about the followers hitting the mag release on the inside of the mag well in combination with the downward pressure applied to the mag by your finger........
  21. Hopefully this is just an issue they had with some of the first runs. I don't know exactly what they have changed but I have been reading that they did a few updates to the design since it's debut. I don't forsee having any problems with it but I have only had a chance to shoot about two mags through it.
  22. I know I am being paranoid but whenever I get a new/used gun I usually check online to see if their are recalls, service bulletins, etc. Seems to be some issues with the finger extensions on the LCP mags causing the mags to drop after shots. I haven't had that trouble yet but in a carry gun I want to be sure. Gonna shoot a 100 rounds through it to be for sure. Anyone else had any trouble with this? FYI this one was made in 09 serial prefix 372. It has the metal mag release.
  23. Looks to me like that may have just been photo shopped on the shirt image. The pixels...   Either way cool shirt and I want one if someone does find them!
  24. Shot it yesterday and it ran fine. It is one of the early affected ones though so I guess I will just go ahead and send it in. It's a pretty accurate little gun!
  25. Yeah mine is the Inox version but has the original firing pin that is eligible for the recall work. I have already applied for the pickup label and everything.
