Church asks boys scouts to leave.

Who flung poo?? -
Oh. I guess in my youthful age I have only ever heard the Steve Miller Band version. His definitely sounds like "wrapped up like a douche".
-
That was Steve Miller Band and I actually think he say's "Deuce". And "revved up" not "wrapped up". Doesn't sound like it though.

The Naval museum is a sure thing now. I love all of the old military museums or museums in general really. I am probably most excited about the USS Alabama. I've passed by it several times but never since I have grown up a little and am now interested in history. I'm gonna have to write all of these places to eat down. There are so many to choose from! I remember I had some crab legs years back at some place further east down the main strip that were amazing. I am hoping I will recognize it if we drive by.

Blasphemy!

Oh I will be feasting on about every kind of shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. imaginable! Not sure if I have ever had royal red shrimp though.
-
This looks awesome! I'm gonna have a hard time convincing the wife to get in a flight simulator with me though. Added to the list!

FINALLY getting ready to go on vacation in a week or so and I am hoping to solicit some ideas on what to do and see (besides the obvious seafood and beach stuff) around the Gulf Shores area. I will be going to see the USS Alabama for sure as well as doing a little fishing but a week is a long time and I don't plan on sitting on the beach every day. Any good places or things to go see/do?

I guess at the end of the day all w can do is train ourselves as well as our children to stand firm in our beliefs while making sure they are the correct beliefs based on actual scripture (for believers) or whatever moral compass you may use. I realize bad stuff happens and laws or regulations don't always make things better. -

Notice I made a point to say that I don't believe that all gay children or men are automatically sexual predators. -
What are they gonna do when a kid comes to school with a birth defect and only had a pointer finger and a thumb? Cut of another finger? I mean really!!!

I am starting to get on the wagon a little with you Robert. Everything you are saying does make perfect sense. If I were to put all scripture aside though (I don't but just for argument sake) and look at this solely as a parent (I'm not), I think I would still be uncomfortable letting my child attend overnight events with other boys who I know are openly gay and may be attracted sexually to my child. I don't think that necessarily implies that I automatically think any gay child or person for that matter will throw themselves onto my child BUT the possibility is there. Others have used this analogy before but if you got two gay children together on the boy scout camp out that is essentially the same as a boy and a girl sleeping in the same tent. The opportunity is presented on a silver platter for something to happen. Something that other (or my) child might witness. Put all the hurt feelings aside on both sides and it just doesn't make sense to allow it. I realize you are mainly defending the fact that an impulse or temptation in itself is not a sin which I agree with. Just though I would throw this in there haha. -

Robert I honestly can't find any scripture in the KJV that flat out says homosexuality is a sin (I didn't look extremely hard though since I'm at work). I think the problem lies in the definition of homosexuality in the bible. Some of these translations are far different than others when it comes to that. I myself read the NIV. I am not saying one way or the other what I think on the matter but I will definitely read a little more into it once I get home. If I could read hebrew then maybe we could get a good idea as to what the original text says haha. I agree that the mere temptation of sexual immorality is not a sin. It is the actual act that is the sin. It's just whether or not homosexuality means thinking or doing in scripture context. I am guessing that most would consider that identifying oneself openly and proudly as homosexual would imply that they would commit the sin when the opportunity arose. That is being judgmental of course but hey everybody sins. ;) -

I agree with this to some degree. There have been people in my church that have done things that make you question their orientation but as many of you have said the church shouldn't be judge mental of this. Homosexuality is a sin just as stealing, lying, etc. A church should be there to provide support and offer prayer for any sinner. Now on the flip side of this. A church is also a sanctuary for believers that needs to be protected to a certain degree from outside sin. If a guy shows up in a dress with full makeup and a poodle then I would think that should be addressed. Us adults are equipped to handle stuff that we may run into like this but children are a little more impressionable. I will make my beliefs known if an opportunity arises but will also be respectful of others beliefs while staying available if they would like to talk about my beliefs. -
You are probably right on their riding mowers or zero turns but I have had great luck with their push mowers. I have a Yard Machine (Home Depot) branded MTD that has ran great for 3 years and actually just bought a 2nd Bolens (Lowe's) labeled MTD last night. Same mower just different color. Briggs and Stratton OHV engines on both. Our 20 year old Murray I brought back from the dead keeps throwing belts and has started cutting uneven. Rather than spend thousands on a new mower or more than $500 on a good used one I figured I could just spend $170 on a new push mower and the wife and I can split the yard and both get some exercise!

Graphic about ammo prices of the last 7 years.

Wow. I can't believe people bought that. As ridiculous as it sounds would that even be possible. How could you make a reliable product out of powder and led that would no longer function after 6 months. -
Just an FYI a .38 special shot shell may not do so well with porcelain so OP if the snake get's in your toilet stick to .22lr. As a side note I would pay good money to see that scenario on an episode of Duck Dynasty.

Gives new meaning to toilet humor!

I have to say even if that dog was aggressive it's so small I doubt it had to be shot! Definitely more going on here.

I will be off on Memorial Day and am planning on making a ride to Shiloh National Military Park. It's been years since I have been and honestly don't remember much about it so it will be like going for the first time. I can't think of a better way to spend Memorial Day. My wife is planning on sitting in the sun by the pool but i'd rather be in the wind!

The mennonites in Whiteville, TN have a little store set up and also sell home-made ice cream every year at the Ames Plantation heritage festival. I do know they make their own bread but I had suspicions that some of that stuff is just repackaged as well. The ice cream and bread is amazing though. They have a little one cylinder john deere motor that runs on camp fuel turning their ice cream makers. I have probably spent at least a solid hour or two over the years standing there watching it turn.
