  1. I am getting a Ruger P95DC today and it seems to have a great reputation for dependability and cost to value. I have one concern though. It is an older model without the rail and has the "slick" frame. As in no stippling/checkering on the back. Can anyone offer first hand knowledge with how this model feels in the hand? I am contemplating stippling it but would rather not as it would be a range toy for my wife to shoot. She hates my stippled Glock 23 haha. I just saw that Talon Grips makes one for the P95 but am wondering if it will fit the older models. I assume the frame is about the same as the newer models.   General feel good stories about the gun are welcome too. (Keep the horror stories to yourself  )
  2. That's awesome! I have never seen that or even thought of that! Not really pretty but still awesome.
  3. The biggest problem with the HWY is that my bike only has five gears and is screaming at highway speeds. I just put the stock pipes back on so that helped but until I can shell out $150 for some new solid billet risers the vibration in my hands would get old after and hour or two on the highway. Plus the fact that I just don't like having to constantly watch out for people pulling over on me. Right now I'm thinking 64 over to the trace is the way to go.
  4. Haha well I'm not actually IN Memphis. Just east of it but still too close.
  5. Those are really two different scenarios. The whole gas thing IS a joke because you pretty much NEED gas on a daily basis and the suppliers know that. They can make it all day long and they know someone is going to buy it.    Apply that to the ammo re sellers and they see the same thing. The demand is there. If they are the only ones showing up at Walmart every morning though then they may begin to wonder if they will be able to unload all of this ammo they are buying. Once they are unsure of their ability to make a quick buck they will slowly die out.
  6. I will be riding from the Memphis area to Nashville at the end of the month and am wondering if anyone is familiar with taking the "back roads". I am thinking Hwy 64 east to Hwy 65 North. I'd rather not ride 40 all the way if I can help it. I am just wondering if the roads are in good shape most of the way. Also what's the speed limit on 40 anyways?
  7. Yeah we have never been inside even so I figure it can't hurt this one time. Thanks for all the advice.
  8. I just said screw and booked the Opry Resort. It'll make the wife happy so money well spent. $126 a night is as low as I could get.
  9. Ok. I am changing my strategy here. Best price I can get on the Opry Resort is $126 a night with priceline. We have decided we want to stay in the Opry are rather than downtown. I am still a little skeptical with using priceline as you don't know exactly what room you will be getting. For any other hotels in the area I am just not comfortable booking without seeing so can anyone recommend a cheaper/nice one in the opry area? I will book directly so I know what I am getting.
  10. Yep. An ideal situation would be that one of you was an established member on here with good feedback. If you are the new guy don't be offended if he wants you to ship first. I did this with a member before and it went smoothly. It's all about trust though, and all of my transactions on here have been great for what it's worth.
  11. I love the simplicity of the iPhone but also love the complexity of the Android.
  12. I can't really comment on the bikes you have listed but I would recommend at least checking out the Suzuki C50T (T for touring. Comes with bags, shield, backrest, etc.) Unless you are wanting a larger engine this bike sounds like plenty for what you want. I have a 2012 model and love it. Plenty of power for two up riding and still small and light enough to be agile. The biggest plus is the 0% financing you can get on any new Suzuki, that's if you plan on financing.   The biggest drawback is the uncomfortable seat. Replace it with a Mustang seat and you are good to go. I have since added passenger floor boards, luggage rack, and crash bars on mine and am loving it. I will say if you want louder pipes look elsewhere. While fine with stock pipes this bike only has 5 gears so with aftermarket pipes it gets pretty loud at highway speeds with the high RPM's. I guess they did this to get plenty of torque out of the 805CC engine.
  13. I had to get something with a real engine in it!    Nah it was a single cab and while I absolutely loved it (07' with lift, tires, etc) it was too small.
  14. Sweet. I'll get in touch with Shatner and see what he can do.
  15. Well it looks like I might just ought to pony up and stay at the Opryland resort! I can get $180 a night on hotels.com.    Anyone stayed there? Is it worth the money?
  16. I think any of the holiday inn express, best western, etc. would be fine. I just don't know the neighborhoods mainly. Since we will be on the bikes I don't want to have to worry about vandalism. I'm sure most of the places would be fine but with my luck I'd book us in crack alley.
  17. Ha preferably without. I am not opposed to staying on the outskirts away from everything if it means better rates and newer/remodeled facilities. It is a motorcycle trip after all. Riding is half the fun.
  18. Closer to downtown. I doubt we will even go to the mall. This trip is all about music and food haha. We went there a few years ago and stayed within walking distance of music row but I can't remember the name of the place. It wasn't the greatest motel in the world either though.
  19. The wife and I and some friends will be taking a motorcycle trip to Nashville on the 31st of August to go to the Opry. I would love to stay at the Opryland Resort but $220 a night is too rich for my blood for a trip like this. Can anyone recommend a good hotel in close proximity to most of the attractions? I have been a few times but am not really familiar with the area.
  20. TGO and Tacomaworld.com are the best two forums I have ever joined. I don't have the Tacoma anymore but there is a funny pictures thread on TW that is amazing and keeps me coming back. There is ALWAYS a good discussion going on here though.
  21. All you can do is call and fuss until you get the right person. We deal with them at work and they do not like paying claims. Make them tell you where they got their info from. If they play hardball though and don't give you an answer then Id say all you can do is hire a lawyer. They are banking most won't do that as the cost of a lawyer outweighs the benefit.
  22. I am looking forward too it but I hope they do a better job than last season. Season 1 and 2 were awesome. 3 left me wanting. I hope Darrel stays in the spot light now that Mearle is gone.
