Which indoor TV antenna should I get?
If you are within 15 miles then there is probably cable already run to your house. Get I said cable not cable service. Just plug it into a TV (or converter if you have an old TV) and you should have crystal clear local channels under the must broadcast laws. On top of that they usually take up 1 or 2 channels as preview channels for the subscription required channels. Kinda like a "See what you're missing?" channel.
Really now? Well that's cool. There are two coax cables coming out of the floor. I was assuming comcast. I'll check that out next weekend when I go up again. That will solve the problem of that's the case. Didn't know that was law. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I am looking to get a good indoor antenna to pick up the local Nashville channels. I'll be within 15 miles of most of the major stations. I know you can't beat a good outdoor antenna mounted up high but that's not an option in my rental. I have never messed with indoor antennas but I assume I would want something multi directional. Any of you guys have some recommendations on what yo look for?

I have a decision to make between comcast and uverse. I am leaning towards uverse as of now.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the info. I was able to find a duplex in Bellevue that we LOVE! The owners are dog lovers so I was able to get all three dogs in with a reasonable deposit. Just from driving around a little Bellevue is awesome. We are just north of Hwy 40 so everything from gas, groceries, Gamestop, etc is 5 minutes from the house. I move in on the 8th of February. Now we just have to find my wife another job and sell our current house. Thanks again!

That definitely gives you more mounting/spacing options. That's the bad thing about the DDT mounts. The spacing is what it is. Is that stock the Hogue overmolded? It looks rubberized to me with the little dimples on the foregrip. If so I didn't realize they came factory.

I can't say enough good about the Leupold Dual Dovetail mounts if you don't go for a rail mount. Those dudes are SOLID.

Thanks Dustbuster. I really like the rural settings. We keep going back and forth between a long commute and having a little privacy. Right now I'm leaning more towards having a longer commute. I can ride the motorcycle for most of the year so gas won't be that bad. When we buy later on I am assuming it's a good 30 minutes in any direction to get to a rural area outside of Nashville anyways. As far as apartments go I contemplated just renting one and signing the two pet lease and just not mentioning the 3rd pet. My conscious got the better of me though and I have decided against that. I doubt they'd ever know though.

Child and Grandmother ran over by car

That is amazing. Good thing it was a small car. -
Should I stop trying to get my wife to consider a semi-auto?
maroonandwhite replied to JReedEsq's topic in Handguns
This 1000 times. I pressured my wife in the beginning to get her permit and she just totally turned her nose up. Just offer advice but don't try to force anything on them gun wise. If she shoot's it well that's the most important thing IMO. -
Sorry to start another thread but the time has finally come for us to move to Nashville. I have been searching for an actual house to rent for a month with no good luck. At this point I think it's best for us to just find a nice apartment that will allow three dogs (two 12 lb dachshunds and one 40 lb lab). With that said: Can anyone recommend a few good apartment complexes around the Nashville area? My budget is going to be around $1000 +or-. I can go higher but that's just a good round number. We will only be in this property for a year so location isn't a huge deal as long as it's a nice area. I am moving for work and the business is going to be within three miles of downtown. Ideally I'd need a place to walk the dogs and let them do their business. Appliances would be a plus. I plan on making a trip up there this weekend to look around and it'd be nice to have a few places in mind. Any help is appreciated! EDIT: Just wanted to thank everyone for the info. Well I guess Krogers rule on the side of Greedy!!!!
maroonandwhite replied to bersaguy's topic in General Chat
I agree but I will also add that we save quite a bit buying groceries at Kroger opposed to Walmart. We normally stop in at Walmart to get the toiletry items and stuff like that as it is usually cheaper there but for the most part the grocery bill is way cheaper at Kroger. As far as the discount thing goes, I am on the "it's their business ,they can do what they want" team. Regarding the Kroger card. I don't mind carrying it for the 10 cents off of gas. If we didn't have the card how would Shell know to give us the 10 cents. -
Now try Lonesome Dove 2. I bet you can't make it all the way through. I loved the first one though.

Since no one has posted it I'll recommend the Marlin 795. It's basically the magazine fed version of the model 60. I purchases one of these at Academy the day after Christmas for $129. I think they are $149 regularly. This is by far the most accurate .22lr out of the box I have ever shot. I did drop another $30 and replace the iron sights with Williams Fire Sights though. The stock iron sights leave a little to be desired. I sighted it in at 25 yards with CCI target rounds yesterday and was able to set clay targets out to 50 yards and hit 5 out of 5. It's really that good. And boy are they light. It almost feels awkward using a sling as it feels like you don't have much attached to it. The Micro Groove barrel has wone me over to Marlins. I will be trying the bolt version next.

The "long and winded road" is probably my favorite!

That hurts my 'Merican pride every time I read it on the scope...... Then I eat some deer jerky I made and it all feels better.

I took three deer with a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 this year. I have owned a VX-II in the past and honestly I like the Vortex just as much if not more. Mainly for the price difference. They are both great scopes with a lifetime warranty. I have heard awesome things about the PST's as well. I got a screaming deal on mine a few months ago. If you decide on the Diamondback give Optics Planet a call with the model number you are looking for and ask them what the lowest they'll take is. They knocked quite a bit off of mine and I got it for $145 shipped.

I really hope this one turns out to run good with minimal issues. If so I will have one for sure. I am interested to see what the trigger pull will be like.

 I love little Johnny.

Probably about to move to Nashville!
maroonandwhite replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
Sorry to bring this old one back from the dead but the time is near! It's not 100% yet but it looks as if we will be around the fairview area. As I mentioned before we would prefer to live in a rural setting within at least 30 minutes of work. Also as others have said it seems that the rental market is pretty tight around Nashville. Do you think I can expect to find a good number of rental properties that aren't listed on the MLS but rather craigslist or just a sign in the yard? Trying to stay around $800 a month proves to be difficult the closer to Nashville you get but in the rural areas it doesn't seem impossible. I have mostly mobile homes on an acre or two and some houses close to that range. I am not opposed to a mobile home at all as some of them are pretty nice. We don't have any long term plans to stay where we rent for more than a year so it doesn't matter much as long as the area is safe. Is the Dickson area a nice area? Seems to be pretty rural.
