  1. I shot IDPA once before I moved to Nashville. Are the gear requirements basically the same? Gun, holster, 2-3 mags, mag carriers, cover garment? Do they ever set up any reactive targets? I work about a mile for NA so I am really excited about being able to take this up again.
  2. Seems to have worked! I shot about 15 mags with one round in them with no broken followers. For what it's worth I did notice that the mag with the broken follower had the mag spring installed backwards. Could be something to that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I think we are going to give Guns and Leather a shot today. The wife wants to go check out the Hendersonville area. $200 for a year membership ain't bad either.
  4. Wouldn't bother me one bit. I could go hunting after work on weekdays!
  5. Plus they have IDPA on a weeknight!! Since I work on Saturday mornings I have never been able to feed that addiction.
  6. Well the more checking I have done there isn't one really that close to me anyways. Nashville Armory seems like the best indoor range but it's a bit higher than I'm used to paying. No doubt worth it though. Guns and Leather is a few bucks cheaper but on the other side of town. May just have to bite the bullet and give Nashville Armory a shot.   I have always been nervous at indoor ranges due to the lack of a safety officer actually in the range. I believe NA advertises that they have this. If they do then that's a definite plus. I get tired of constantly making sure someone isn't going to shoot me.
  7. I am looking to visit an outdoor range this afternoon with the wife to shoot a few new handguns. Can anyone recommend a good one close to Bellevue and also let me know what to expect? Do they have targets or anything for sale or is it just bring your own? I just want to show up prepared. I am not new to shooting at ranges, just outdoor ranges. Thanks!
  8. Have any of you guys had this problem with the CM/CW/PM model Kahr's? I just traded my CW9 for a CM40. The giy told me up front that one of the mags has a broken follower. It seems to be a known but not widespread problem with them. When we made the trade I actually found out that one of the followers in one of my CW9 mags was broken the same way.   It seems that the feed ramp sticks a little too far back and hits the follower upon recoil of the last shot in the mag. It seems to be more prevalent in the .40 due to more recoil.   The fix everyone recommended online was to grind some of the feed ramp off with the ol' dremel and polish it up......which I did. I basically used some paste to mark the barrel and inserted the mag to see if they were making contact. The weird thing is even with a little taken off of it there is still plenty of "extra" feed ramp well below where the bullet actually touches the ramp. I'm gonna try it out for 100 rounds and see what happens before taking any more off.   Just curious if anyone else has had this problem and tried this fix. From what I've read Kahr will just do the same thing if I send it in.
  9. "Over 100 rounds!"    Can't remember the username but the guy that has the WALL of ammo on here should send her a pic or two. She would die.
  10. I won't fault him one way or the other on shooting it since I wasn't there but he should have had at least a little respect for it and put it down. Who knows, maybe he went back....but I doubt it.
  11. Yeah I saw uncle and it seemed nice and in my price range. I am also interested in Green Hill Barber shop. They have two master barbers on staff. I may have to try one of these two out.
  12. I am looking for a good barber in the Nashville area. Moving from Memphis I have only ever had close access to sport clips and the like. I am looking for a good shop that can handle the classic cuts and really pays attention to detail. If I am going to pay $30 for a haircut I want more than some clippers ran over my head. Preferably a shop that can do good beard trimming. Any recommendations? I found Red's Classic Shop online that seems to get good reviews.
  13. WOW! I have had it up to my neck with ATT. They are now saying again that I can't get Uverse TV there! I spoke to  Comcast just a minute ago and they can set me up with a no contract plan for a nice price that I am probably going with. Most of these folks I have talked to at ATT are so incompetent that I am not sure how they still have a job.
  14. UPDATE! I arrived back in Nashville yesterday to find that all the channels have been cut off. Looks like its uverse time after all. That's a bummer.
  15.   Yeah that's what Keal G Seo recommended to me. I can confirm it does work on my end. I get all of the main local channels with a few extras.
  16. Just an update. The Mohu Leaf did work but only picked up seven channels. It picked up the basic channels fine but made me wonder how sensitive it may be. A slight movement and it would lose the signal.   The GOOD news is that when I plugged into the Comcast cable I was able to get the TV to program 41 channels! About half of them were repeats or dead/scrambled but once I went through and weeded them out I now have all the basics as well as a few other oddball local channels. Thanks for the tip Keal G Seo! You were right!
  17. I caught that as well.  :screwy:
  18. Congrats. I'm about to be in the same boat. Just listed mine for sale a week or two ago.
  19. That is amazing.... If it wasn't so ugly I'd want one!
  20. This is mine I built a while back. It should last a few decades.
  21.   Ok. I'll let you know how it goes.
  22.   Well it sounds like you know what you are talking about so we will see! I do have newer TVs with built in digital tuners so that shouldn't be an issue. The upstairs rooms don't have coax ran so I may use the antenna up there assuming this all works out with the local channels. The only other concern is that they won't be in HD over the coax. Would this be the case?
  23.   From what I have read it's the customers that have no service at all with comcast that are getting the channels cut off; which makes sense I guess. Why should they let us use their lines for free?   I just ordered one of the Mohu Leaf's and will report back on it once I get to Nashville next weekend. If it is as good as all the reviews then it should work great. Thanks for the info guys.
  24. I did some reading on this and it looks like the provider has the option to scramble/encrypt these channels. Therefor I would probably need their box to decode the signal. They have to broadcast on there service but not for free is what I am gathering. I guess I'll know once I try it out but I don't have my hopes up. I actually found quite a few threads on this on other sites that said it was going away.
