YEP! You don't have to look at those funny black lines on the side of the screen when playing older consoles.

I like to mod guitar pedals occasionally. I mostly go by the plans of others but sometimes try different values to see what happens. For any of your guitar guys out there trying to turn a DS-1 into a nice sounding pedal is the ultimate goal for my pedal modding. Usually just changing out to better quality caps helps the sound alot.

Got made at a wedding this past weekend...
maroonandwhite replied to hlb14's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I would wager he was just wondering if you had been drinking. That would be the only reason I'd ask that question then still don't know if I'd bother. I'd probably just watch to see if you were. -
Just received mine today and man is this thing built like a tank. Thick leather and thick kydex. If I run out of ammo I'm pretty sure I could take it off and use it as a club. I don't have the firearm it fits with me so I can't test that out but the molding detail on it is great as well so I'm sure it will fit like a glove. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. They also come very well packaged with a nice alien gear bag, plenty of extra hardware and a sticker. Regarding customer service I couldn't get them on the phone at first but after leaving a message they followed up promptly and were very professional promising it was worth the wait. I can verify it is.

Couple more questions about the Sharp Maker.

Sandvik 13c26 on a Kershaw Groove and Sandvik 14C28N on a Kershaw Skyline are the two I have been trying. -
That tcp is the king of the .380s in my book ( not including the sig of course). Great trigger pull. Just the right size for my hands. And very reliable. I did have to polish the ramp / shoot it a lot to make it feed certain ammo but now the two I own won't be going anywhere.
Please explain? Maybe I am being to analytic about it? But it just did not sit well with me when it failed right out of the box. I did a lot of research on it before making the purchase. So maybe that's where the rub came in? For me I need to know it will be reliable. I remember when circumstances dictated a switch from 45 acp to 9mm I was hesitant but when the 92G performed flawlessly right out of the box I was lessaprehensive. That's not to say I stopped carrying my 1911 in the off hrs. I guess it all boils down to confidence.
I just mean that cheap ammo is worth what you pay for it. Not to say your wrong for wanting a gun to shoot anything. I have some that do. In my experience there are some guns that I don't expect to do that and really only a few that I do. The bersa I used to own wasn't one of them but it ran good factory brass ammo like a champ.
TnIIIer, if you recognize my avatar, you know where I stand on this issue. That being said, please take my advice and dial it back a smidge. There are a lot of really squared away folks. Folks that I would argue are way more solid than you and I. Folks that you would find it valuable to know and make friends with if you could only back it down a bit. Right now you are making no friends and doing yourself no favors. It doesn't have to be that way. Be nice. Join in the conversations. Show folks that you are a solid cat and then take the real conversations to meatspace. Don't get yourself banned from what can be a very valuable resource for networking and learning from folks who can teach you from experience and not theory.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
This. He may have already burnt that bridge though.
Not to rude but that was kind of the point in buying the reloaded ammo and steel case stuff I figured that if it shot those well most likely it would be good to go with good quality ammo. Thank you
That's not really a good way to test reliability in my opinion unless you just want a gun that can shoot anything.

Why take the risk? I have a few folks I believe have really believe are safe gun handlers but anyone can make a mistake. This type of mistake could be deadly though. I just can't justify the risk of doing it intentionally. I can wait till the range goes cold.

Couple more questions about the Sharp Maker.
maroonandwhite replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I may just buy the diamond rods to speed the initial process up. -
I'd run more rounds through it. Any manufacturer can have one slip through. Lots of folks carry the bersas and have good luck with them. I'd bet if it was having feed issues before that he fixed it by polish or reshaping the ramp.

Which handgun platform do you like and why? (1911 not included)
maroonandwhite replied to JKGlock17's topic in Handguns
Did you have trouble with the DA to SA or just couldn't shoot well with it period? I used to own a CZ75 PCR that I absolutely loved but got rid of ( ). After doing some trigger work I loved it! -
Couple more questions about the Sharp Maker.
maroonandwhite replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Yeah I actually did do that and for the most part I got all of the sharpe off with a few strokes. I was less consistent when sharpening the right side of the blade but a little practice fixed that. It may just come down to blade steel. -
Couple more questions about the Sharp Maker.
maroonandwhite replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I am wondering if it has anything to do with actually re profiling the blade. I use the 40 degree setting as spyderco recommends and am wondering if I just have to stay on the course rods for a good while if the blade is a totally different angle. -

I'm actually liking my Sig P250 now. I plan on getting one of the new striker fired models in the future and will have to pick up a P226 or P229. I never thought I'd get bit by the sig bug but it has happened. -
Sorry guys but I have to talk about something related to knives. I am starting to get anxious waiting on the Protechs . I am still trying to master my Sharp Maker and am wondering if you can offer any tips. I know the rods it comes with take a little longer to work than diamond rods but I can't seem to get any of my knives paper slicing sharp. I can get them close but they still rip the paper unless I slice it just right. I will say I can get it MORE than sharp for EDC and am really wanting to just get a couple of knives I don't EDC really sharp. Any tips? I have mainly been following what the video says but I am sure those knives were already really sharp just so he can make it look easy.

Yeah I like the thicker leather and kydex as opposed to the thin. The Kholsters and Crossbreeds I have owned in the past were never as comfortable as the King Tuk I used to carry a Glock 19 in. The thicker stuff takes up more room obviously but it's just more comfortable for all day carry for me. I guess that's why they make both for all body types though haha. On a side note my tracking number is showing now that it went from Idaho to Washington and now it's in VA for some reason. USPS overshot TN by a couple hundred miles.....

Should be getting mine today for my p250. Been waiting to carry this thing. I've had to carry the .380 while waiting and it's gonna feel good to strap a double stack back on!

LeVar Burton seeks to bring back Reading Rainbow
maroonandwhite replied to Chucktshoes's topic in General Chat
That's cool! I never really watched it unless Batman or something wasn't on but it was always interesting. I have graduated to "How Things Work" as an adult but I would wager watching Reading Rainbow and Mr. Rodgers had a lot to do with that interest. LeVar seems like a nice guy and I wish him luck! -
I have one on the way from them as well. Was right at 4 weeks before I got the shipping confirmation. Seems to be a great deal and they get good reviews.

I would think the lights would come on even if the blade was engaged. I don't think it's a safety switch. Sounds like a fuse or ignition switch/wiring problem. Trying to imagine how a piece of wood In the deck could effect that though. May be a fluke thing.

I tried running but my knee just won't let me do it for any long periods. I have instead started heavy lifting at the gym and eating 3700 calories a day to bulk up!

I myself like Jim and Nick's on Charlotte pike and I'm from west TN.
