1. Yeah I went ahead and put a new slide lock lever and spring along with a new trigger spring in this one. The recoil spring was already replaced recently. Gonna get a chance to sling some lead downrange this weekend so I can get re accustomed to pointing this thing.   I'd take a $20 Gen 2 all day long in any shape.  :pleased:
2. I have been OC'ing at work lately. I don't really get much walk in traffic so no one ever knows. To be honest the biggest problem I have with concealing is leaving my shirt un-tucked. I hate an un-tucked shirt but it's just a sacrifice we must make. I know there are tuckable holsters but it's so much stinking trouble.
3. It's amazing how often that happens to me. :pleased:
4. Not really a Sig guy but that is a pretty gun.
5. I myself just stick to basic Realtree AP most of the time. When it's really cold I usually have on my big brown Carharrt jacket and an orange vest though so it doesn't much matter. I do have some of the scentlock underwear but I'm not sure how well it works. I do get them in close though.   The trick is to go outside nekkid' the morning of the hunt and roll around in the yard.
6. For heirloom stuff I always like to go highly customizes......keeps me from selling it  .    I second (or 11th) the idea of a nice customized 1911. I'd bet you can get something one of a kind without breaking the bank. Giving us a general idea of what you already have or don't want may help weed out some redundant responses too.   Orrrrr, you could always track down that custom Glock that had the trigger guard removed and lots of other custom work done to it.
7. If it's anything like the CW9 it's light as a feather. The only thing I didn't like about mine was the texture of the grips. They were kind of sharp. A set of traction grips or talon grips will fix that right up though. Trigger also takes some getting used to if you haven's shot one before but they are smooth as butter.
8. I wouldn't buy from these folks but they do make them.   http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/82711
9. Nevermind. I see it's a bigger frame.
10. What's the difference in a CT9 and a CW9?
11. Deep down inside I know you are right. :pleased:
12. :surrender: Now I don't know what to do haha.
13. That's my basic understanding I just didn't know how deep you go with bead blasting or how deep the Tenifer goes. That makes me feel better about it then.     Thanks for the offer but I believe I am going to let Amendment 2 on here do it.
14. Ok cool. This particular one is a carry piece that I won't baby. I just want to have a good protective finish. Probably over thinking it.
15. I wouldn't be doing it myself. I am mainly after corrosion resistance. I kind of like the worn in finish but fde would look cool too. Am i correct in thinking the corrosion resistant will never wear out under normal conditions?
16. I was contemplating having my Gen 2 Cerakoted but found out that the finish is sand blasted down to bare metal for adhesion purposes. From my understanding the top coat of the finish is what normally wears out so I am hoping there is some type of semi durable coating I can bake onto the top of what I have and still keep the Tenifer underneath.   Also it's possible I am totally wrong about all of this so feel free to school me on it.
17. So do you guys replace any of the springs other than the recoil spring often? I complete broke this one down last night for a good deep cleaning and everything looked nice but just dirty. Do any of these other springs wear out in a normal lifetime?   I am contemplating just replacing the slide stop lever (finish is gone) and possibly putting in the extended mag release (have to re position my hand to get mags to drop) and just leaving it alone. I know the parts are cheap but hey money is money.
18.   Another forum? Blasphemy.   Thanks I'll check it out.
19.
The pin in the 2nd Gens don't typically break that often. I heard reports that after many thousands of rounds they have broken. The round count was so high that at the time (and still) it just about considered normal wear and tear. The reason Glock went to the 3 pin in the 9mm was really because it's easier to produce on frame than 2 different frames. The 19/23 frame is the same. Therefor you can just grab any frame and build it. No need to be caliber specific And the 3rd pin only benefited the 9mm.
Did you mean it only benefitted the 9mm or .40?
20. I just killed this one!
21. Yeah I am indifferent on the rail as I don't use it but I do not care for the finger grooves. They do fit my fingers well but I just don't think they are that comfortable.   Someone posted a link online to a $20 spring kit but I can't seem to find it. I'll have to do a little digging. I believe it was one of the specialty Glock retailers.
22. I just picked up a Gen 2 Glock 19 made in April of 1996. It is the 2 pin model and I am curious to know if that is a big deal with the 9mm. From what I am reading the extra pin was mainly added for the .40 S&W. I have no idea of round count either so I will be replacing most all of the springs other than the recoil spring as it is new. If you could recommend where to buy a spring kit that would be great.   Also I called Glock with the serial number and they told me there are no issues with it that need updating. I am excited to have found one and just want know a little more about it from some of you Gen 2 aficionados.
23. Has a really cool rugged but finished look to it. I like it!
24. Yeah I've looked around but never really saw one in particular that caught my eye except one or two which are in the $200 range. I want the GPS/Route mapping capability as well as the heart rate monitor. I do also like some of the functionality the Apple Watch will provide. I use the map software quite a lot since I just moved here and it will be great to use siri for that right on my wrist.
