  1. Nope she was broadsided. We had three people out there combing the woods. With all the leaves and scrapes it was tough to find a trail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I shot a doe this morning but haven't been able to find it. Must just be a magic deer. I got what looked like a solid hit but just couldn't find blood.
  3. I don't want to mess with the programmable ones at all. Will the Nest figure out the most efficient way to bring it back up to temp without using the AUX? By turning the temp up slowly over the course of an hour or two?
  4. I do believe the Nest will work for my application now. I seems that one of the wires listed above isn't connected but just ran into the box and capped off. I think it was Ruud standard procedure at the time. However I think I may just take my brother in laws advice and set it to a comfortable temp and leave it alone. I did so last night and didn't once see the auxillary come on. Once I get a few cycles of electric bills under my belt I may change my mind but it's hard to believe the Nest will save me $300 any time soon to make up for the cost. Our house is 1500 square feet and insulated pretty well with good windows.
  5. On a regular old AR i'd have voted grey. On a blaster (see what I did there) such as the SBR go white or go home.
  6. Hope that's a good solid free float haha.
  7. That's a good idea.
  8. Haha I think my problem is a little OCD. The Sparc is so tiny it doesn't look quite "right" that far up. I don't particularly care how it looks but I'm the type if there is a right way I want it that way. Vortex has them all mounted on the second cut back from the front of the receiver so I may just do that to satisfy my brain.    Also when I mentioned magnifiers I got to looking at the Vortex brand and now I think I want one so I may have to move it all the way up.
  9. From what I have read it may make no difference if you mount your dot further forwards than back but I'd like to hear what you guys do and why. I realize it makes no difference whatsoever on POI. I am currently just running a micro red dot with magpul BUIS and don't plan to add a magnifier so rail space is no matter.
  10. Second this. Get a diesel and I've used budget twice now with good luck.
  11. Little background here:    Just moved into my new home with a heat pump system. My normal thermostat habit is to set the temp to around 65 during the day and 69-70 at night once we get home. With this heat pump system I have noticed that when I move the temp from 65-70 the AUX comes on. My brother in law who does HVAC said it was because the thermostat operates on a temp differential and will come on to quickly get the house up to that temp. I figured by getting one of the NEST thermostats I could combat that and let it learn what I normally set and make the slow changes throughout the day. Long story short it doesn't look like it's compatible with my setup and I have also seen where many don't like it.   The thermostat I have now is the slider type and honestly I would just prefer a digital. With the Nest and probably any of the learning type thermostats out what would you recommend? I currently have a RUUD thermostat installed that has some odd wiring from what I have been reading. I have the following wires connected:   G R B O Y W2 X E
  12. PSA has some black Friday pricing up now on ammo. Nothing that just seems amazing though.
  13. Luckily I have room further back on the property that won't interfere with my yard. I had a plum tree in the backyard of my last house so I know what you mean. My dogs would eat them and get the squirts. Not to mention all the dang bugs.
  14. Looks like the peach and plum trees I have picked out are self pollinating so I will only get one of each of those. The pear's however need to have a mate so I will order two. I don't think I have room for or need more than 4 trees total.
  15. There is one particular variety of pear tree my grandpa has that produces so much fruit it will literally weight the limbs down to the point of breaking. I'm gonna have to find out what it is. I am mainly looking for varieties that are good for eating right off the tree. Making preserves and all that will be secondary. I'm gonna try my hand at strawberries too.
  16. Wow that sucks. Yeah I want to get as much knowledge as possible. These places I am looking at seems to have it together and should tell me what all I'll need. I plan to have at least one of each fruit possibly two on the peach trees. My concern is all the darn rocks.
  17. I am looking to buy a couple of fruit trees (probably peach, plum, and pear) and possibly pecan trees. I have heard McMinnville or Cookeville is the place to go but they also offer shipping. I am curious what to look for in a good fruit tree and/or pecan tree. I am not sure how deep I have to dig to hit rock on my lot but there are plenty of full mature trees on the property including Bradford Pears, Cedars and others I can't name. Anyone have experience with this?
  18. Those are the best naps of the year. You gotta find that special hiding place to get away from everyone though.   Edit: Oh and happy Thanksgiving!
  19. Just kidding. I know a few of the elements and mostly just the ones that will kill me. The others well...if they leave me alone I'll leave them alone haha.
  20. What's with all this science speak?
  21. Yeah most all of the wall mount heaters I have seen have an O2 depletion sensor on them.
  22. I can't work with cold hands haha. That's how things end up getting rushed and put together wrong. I gotta have my heat. :pleased:
  23. Also another question is blue flame or infrared. In a small insulated area I am thinking the blue flame heater would be better as it heats the room rather than objects. I have read they both essentially put out the same heat and use the same amount of gas so I guess it's just preference.
