  1. I would say you won't have trouble finding one in your range. Use autotrader and set your parameters. Most of the smaller local lots list on there. That's where I found mine.
  2. I recently spoke to him and he said he isn't really doing the Mid TN shows so I don't think he will be there.
  3. It really depends on if you are willing to possibly work on one maybe sooner than later. I actually purchased one today for under 10k.  When I was growing up my grandparents and parents wouldn't buy anything with over 30-40k miles on it and always preached that. I am to the point in my life now that I don't want to always have car payments. Not putting anyone down that can afford it at all but I don't let higher miles scare me.   I just bought a 2004 silverado in decent shape (few dings and scratches) that drives and runs great. It's a single cab long bed 4x4. It has 145k on it. I also recently purchased a Camry with 160k on it that runs like a top also for under 10k. The problem with that price range is that you generally don't get a good vehicle for under 5k so there are both junk and good trucks at that price range. Just go with your gut when you drive it and take your time looking it over. If you see or feel a problem take some time to research it online. With the internet and youtube more than likely someone has a fix for it that may be simple. You can use the small problems when bargaining and spend a few dollars and hours fixing the small problem while getting to know the ins and outs of the truck as well.   You will probably have to deal with the smaller lots to find these trucks as well.
  4. Our season didn't go as planned either........
  5. I listened to it on the radio and was wishing I was there. Would have been a good game to watch. Still can't believe LSU lost.
  6. I am on the 5C with the newest OS and it is stable. I also do not like the new changes but it hasn't crashed on me.
  7. I have owned a couple of Kahrs including the CW9. I carried mine for a while and had no issues with it other than the one mag follower breaking on me. They may have that worked out by now but keep an eye on your mags. I actually shot mine for a while with a broken follower without issue so it's not really a big deal. From what I remember the the bottom of the feed ramp would contact the follower on the last round and break them over time. I also think very few are affected. You can shave a little off of the feed ramp if yours does it.   It's a very solid gun though with a smooth (but long) trigger. The only mod I had to make was to get a set of rubber talon grips as the stippling is rather sharp.
  8. Not too bad at all. I'm with you and would just want to stick with steel. I'm not sure how fragile the ceramic is but I'm sure I'd break them if it can be done.
  9.     Never thought about that. Well it just moved up a few notches. I'm taking care of my offense stuff first though. I guess they say the key to a good offense is a good defense though.   Any guess to what it weighs total after the plates?
  10. Looks good! I have been wanting to get one myself but I keep finding other things to buy. I believe plate carriers are way down the list of things to possibly be banned so I have time haha.   If you were to want to use a 2 point sling could you? I guess you would just run it in a "neck loop" position rather than under your left or right arm.
  11.  I agree. I believe when I drilled it out the heat that was generated helped break loose the crud. I don't think they used loctite but there is some kind of film under the rail that is being a bear to get off. Maybe some type of epoxy or something. I am going to have to stock up on some better solvents that hoppes and rem oil.
  12. Haha maybe a shade tree gunsmith. I've certainly messed up more than I have fixed on all of my guns.
  13. It's a 30-30. Got plenty of character not shown well in the photos but I love it. It's a real deal hand me down rifle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 1976 Marlin 336. Belonged to my late grandpa. Finally got possession of it over Christmas and just got her cleaned up tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. WOW ! That was easy........ I drilled one small hole then a second larger hole.....tapped in the easy out and she screwed right out. I sincerely believe I will never get that lucky on something like this again.
  18. This is the 1976 model I got from my late grandfather. It's got some age and wear on it but I don't want to add an idiot mark to it haha.
  19. Oh yeah I'd screw that up no pun intended.
  20. Yeah I have those but I have read the small ones will break easily and cause more issues. I was thinking of drilling a smal hole in the drill press and the trying to hammer a slightly larger torx bit into it.
  21. I have a screw broken on top of the receiver in this Marlin 336. This particular screw is threaded all the way through. What's the best way to get it out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My face hurts from laughing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I took advantage of it as well. Also got a magpul acs-I stock for a good deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I'm headed out to the stand now. We came back to west tn for Christmas. Hopefully they are moving today. I need some meat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
