  1.   Thanks for the offer. I just went ahead and tried it with the drill press. Didn't really work out how I wanted but it did put a little dimple in the barrel. More or less just scratched it a little haha. I just went ahead and installed it as I have seen plenty of folks that didn't dimple theirs with no issues. I used loctite on the mating surface as well as the set screws. I'll let that set up for a few days and see what happens. Here's a few pics of the finished product. The cheap rail seems like it's going to work well and seems to lock up tight. I have to figure out a way to get that lock nut a little tighter though so the rail doesn't twist.
  2. I would go M&P out of those. If you want capacity I'd go with the full size. If you want light carry I would go with the shield. I once owned a 9C and while it was a fine gun I just didn't really take to it. Also APEX makes some fine trigger kits for them.   I however carry a Glock 19 and love it.
  3. Didn't watch the video but just looking at it makes me wonder if it could induce feeding issues.
  4. Sounds like word has gotten out.
  5. Also with the gas block pushed all the way back to the neck the gas port lines up right in the middle of the hole so sliding it forwards any won't work. I just don't see any way I'll ever get a straight indention drilled there. Hopefully the front screw will be plenty to hold it. The good news is that it doesn't look like it will "walk" into the pin channel.
  6. Just got it in. Here's what I'm dealing with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I wonder if someone thinks that some type of constitutional carry may come at some point or at least no cost/tax for the permit and they are trying to get all the money they can now.
  8. I'm sure I could . Guess I would just have to drill out that portion of the channel.   Kind of wishing I would have just bought a clamp on now...
  9. I too am waiting on the soil to dry. My soil is mostly clay so I definitely don't want to till it wet. I did get the grapes and muscadines in the ground though. So now I wait for two years on those haha.
  10. Yeah it may not hit the pin channel but I think it'll be too close to try to drill a dimple. I just don't want it to try to "walk" in the pin channel when tightening. We will see tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Nah I'll bet those are just the two he put in the pic.
  12. Link to the gas block I have coming.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/251665088639?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  13. I am installing a set screw type gas block on my previously pinned barrel and it looks like the rear most set screw will land very close to the rear pin channel. Have any of you ran in to this? I am thinking i will just drill a dimple for the front set screw and just tighten the rear on up snug with plenty of loctite.
  14. Thanks Ron. I will be borrowing an armorers wrench from a member tonight so I think I have it squared away. It's usually the easy things I screw up though. :pleased:
  15.   Yep that's similar to what I've seen but not normally in those shooting conditions. Mine only does it like right before the sun was going down. Low light basically. "Scope flair" was the term I found online. Sure enough if you back down the magnification it goes away. It does look a little hazy in the first pic though on his scope. Weird for sure.
  16. That's pretty cool! What are you using that water for?
  17. I remember when I tried to change the channel one time. They said" Uh-uh, I gotta watch my stories!".
  18. So I'm opening this back up. 173rdABN has offered to help but we can't get together until Sunday and I am hoping to get it to the range this weekend. If anyone else in the area can help with it tomorrow, Friday or Saturday afternoon please let me know. I was going to go buy a barrel nut tool but I can't find one in stock anywhere. Thanks!
  19. ok. Dimpling the barrel for the block is what has me most nervous haha. Shouldn't be too hard though. That first cut is the hardest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. thanks. It is a free float hand guard. I'm not sure the retainer will allow enough clearance for the hand guard. Did you just mean to put it on if it wasn't a free float type? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. As long as there are no characters named Thorn or Ridge I think we are OK. :pleased:  (I used to work at a bank and at lunch hour the soaps were on. That's how I know those names)
  22. I believe he said something like "he's still alive and I'm gonna make sure he stays that way".
  23. Thanks for the offer Dolomite but I don't ever get out that way. Haha I thought I was in a PM in my earlier posts. Making plans for all to see. Do you have any experience with the cheaper gas blocks or quad rails from ebay. The particular company is Omega Tactical. I assume they are Chinese made at that price.
