  1. So I went last night and bought all of my plants and seeds and now it's going to rain all day. Will it hurt to plant in wet soil? There is one section of my garden where the soil was a little more damp than the other spots and I have some clumping of the soil but nothing very hard. I don't want to add to the problem but I can't let all of these plants sit in the garage for days until it dries up.   I am going to add newspaper to the rows and cover with straw once I plant.
  2. Follow this link and click on the image for the basic plan. I think I modified mine a little but it's pretty self explanatory. I spent somewhere around $350 on everything on mine but I used good treated wood and that treated plywood ain't cheap. It should last a loooong time. I'm sure you could build it alot cheaper with recycled material. It doesn't have to be this robust either. I call this the storm shelter because it's so heavy. It took four grown men to lift it into the trailer when we moved with the roof OFF.   http://www.mansfieldfeed.com/news-updates/build-your-own-chicken-coop-2014-02-3056
  3. I have closed off the bottom door and made one out of the side since I took this picture. They didn't want to go up through the bottom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I built a coop based off of purina plans and have had really good luck with it. I initially had a run built onto it but just let them free range now. I hang a heat lamp in there during the winter and they do fine. On the really cold snaps we had I just stapled some cardboard over the door to keep out the draft and open it in the morning. My outside dog does "play" with them every now and then when they try to eat her food but otherwise she leaves them alone. I have two at the moment and usually get an egg a day. I'll post some pics of the coop and a link in a minute.
  5. We just put 5 more outside since their feathers have come in for a total of 7. I look forward to more eggs. I plan to do alot of pickled eggs. I LOVE those.   I will probably be giving some away to the neighbors too. That's a good way to get the neighbors on your side.
  6. Yep I saw something earlier about HBO doing a pilot for Game of Thrones and that it didn't get favorable reviews so they are re shooting it.  If I recall HBO actually passed on The Walking Dead in the beginning.
  7. That would be a dumb move unless they got paid like a bazillion dollars.
  8. I'm thinking that's a teacher hitting a student. Wonder if he got into some trouble.
  9. from what I gathered if you use something like newspaper and whatever topping you want you can just till it in. I don't know if I will re till the garden or not. Some sites say to do it sparingly. I'll figure it out as I go along I guess haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would look at the Hornady deburring tool of you go with a hand tool. Much better than the lee. I have the lee classic turret press and love it. Great value. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. i was assuming this is done fresh each year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Cool. I'll have to give it a shot.
  13. Did they gorge themselves in the beginning when you do that? Are the inside or outside dogs? I have a dachshund who is slightly overweight and is eating the recommended amount each day. He does get decent exercise as well since we have a large fenced yard. I have been contemplating switching food.   We are currently feeding Science Diet "Active Fitness".
  14. I tilled on Sunday and man I am worn out! Just over 800 square feet of garden with a walk behind tiller. Lots of roots and a few patches of rocks. I tilled the fertilizer in with it and am gonna wait another weekend or so to plant everything. I was gonna do some onions and potatoes but I have read to skip the root crops on the first year.   I believe I am going to try putting newspaper in the walking rows and covering the entire garden with hay/straw to keep weeds down. Anyone tried this?
  15. Just curious if anyone is going out tonight to shoot the classifier. I just signed up for IDPA and am looking to get back into it. What better way to start than the classifier?
  16. How did someone not see the guy down there???
  17. That last surprise punch he landed on Nicholas would have knocked just about any man out cold too. Doesn't make for good TV though.
  18. He shot Pete. They were talking about the "porch dick" going limp on The Talking Dead. A reference to Pete sitting on the porch a few episodes back.
  19. yep. Based on what was said I was expecting the streets to run red. I still enjoyed it though. This season was great. Next should be good too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Which hand guard are you using on this one? It look's almost identical to the one I just put on mine. Mine was an Omega Industries but I'm sure it came from the same plant as alot of other names in China.
  22. Thanks for the offer. I'll have to get with you one weekend and try it out.
  23. yeah that's a factor too. All the YouTube videos in the world are telling me "sure you'll like it" but I just need to shoot it haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That's purdy. I really wish 300 black got more use out of a longer barrel. That would make my decision to build a rifle or a pistol with intent to SBR alot easier haha.
  25. Cool. Yeah I actually found a thread today showing the difference between the PSA lowers. The PTAC lower had been added recently and it seems that PSA purchased PTAC . I don't know how accurate that is. The lowers fit and finish looks fine to me and I don't think I will have any issues whatsoever with it.
