  1. Pretty cool business model you have at your store as well. You are further east than I normally go but good luck to you!
  2. You are absolutely right. That's why I am doing all of this. Not in panic mode but I know it's coming. I'll be buying plenty of powder and bullets soon as well.   I doubt I mind the little extra weight. Especially for the price. I'll also probably just find someone to drill/ream it out for me. Can't cost that much to do.
  3.   Yeah I did read that last night. I guess it just worried me that it's a no name barrel even thouguh I know where it came from. Seems that PSA is good about finding suppliers around the Carolina's and I haven't had any bad luck with their stuff yet. I ordered it last night so I'll see what happens.
  4. Just reread what you wrote. I won't be running subsonic without a silencer so that shouldn't be an issue. I can always drill it out one day if I want. Guess I will order it!
  5. By heavy do you just mean weight wise or something else? Sorry for being dense. I do plan on an adjustable block. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6.  It's true! I knew it.
  7. Come to find out it is made by DC Machine. 4150V chrome moly. .099" gas port.
  8. Seems like a good deal on a barrel in the length and twist I want but details are minimal? Is nitride ok for a 300 blackout?   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/300bo-pl-8-5-1-8-m-h-m.html
  9. 1-6 is a good idea. I didn't realize anyone made a 1-6......
  10. Thanks for the offer but I won't hassle you with doing that. Honestly I can probably get an idea of what they will be like just tilting the gun. After looking online at them though I'm not sure I want that much sticking off the side of the gun.
  11. Maybe I can do a scope with offset irons. Never used those before though and they can't be easy to use.
  12. Tapatalk makes it sooooo easy I just can't not check in. I do wish we had more show and tell going on than we do.
  13. Oh it's getting one....eventually haha. As we all know they aren't cheap and I'm doing good to get the wife to let me do the SBR.
  14. As embarrassing as this sounds I'm just afraid that a scope will look funny on the short rifle...... :surrender: Paying all the extra crap I want it to look cool too! Function over form though is my main goal in the end. I have been debating on going with a slightly longer 10.5" barrel to give me a little more real estate to hold on to but figure if I am doing an SBR I might as well go as short as I can.
  15. Yeah I love me some Vortex. I have eyeballed that one but will probably end up going with the Bushnell version if I choose a scope. I have never been one to spend a whole lot on optics but I don't want to buy junk either.
  16. I would have to train them to sit on either side of my chair/throne like they do in the movies.  :pleased:
  17. I am trying to decide on an optic for my SBR build and am going back and forth between a 1-4x scope or a red dot with flip over magnifier.  I will be using this for hunting but once I get a suppressor it will also be my home defense gun. As far as hunting goes the 1-4 would suit my needs just fine but I am thinking a red dot would be better suited for HD. What say you?
  18. So do these stamps have some type of identifying number on them that ties it to my item or is it just a generic stamp? From everything I've been told carrying a copy of the paperwork with me whenever I go to the range isn't a bad idea but that seems like that would be easy to fake for someone.
  19. Wrong thread.  :yuck: You must power browse TGO like I do with multiple tabs.
  20. Wow. I'm most surprised that the article didn't mention what color the student's skin was and reference another situation that had similar circumstances but no bearing whatsoever on this situation.   Seriously though unless the kid got the jump on the coach I would bet he was afraid to fight back for fear of being sued.
  21. Dude I freakin' ate satire sights. Get me every time!
  22. Well that's something you don't hear everyday! I bet that was a sight to behold.
  23. My only comfort is that it will take me at least two months to decide on everything for my upper. I will have this baby done by hunting season though! The can will have to wait for birthday or Christmas .  :pleased:
  24. From what I can tell these Omega rails are mainly copies of the YHM stuff. Good stuff for the money though. Think I paid around $40 for mine.
  25. My guess is that those little ridges for the set screw to sit don't line up exactly. I honestly didn't check on mine because it finally felt like it bottomed out and it was solid so I left it alone.
