  1. I finally started loading some 9mm the other day and was very pleased with the results. All of my brass landed in a nice consistent little pile next to me and none of them exploded.    Unfortunately I do not have a chrono so I can't figure out power factor and would like to load up some rounds for IDPA. I am loading 3.5-4 gr of Bullseye (it meters like crap in my auto disk) under a 115gr bullet with OAL of 1.162". Could anyone guess what a "safe" charge would be so that I was comfortably over the power factor. Shooting out of a Glock 19.   I do plan to get some surplus powder from David soon but I want to use this up first.
  2.  I know you told me you had polished the ramp but did you just use the polish and a dremel wheel? If you want that mirror finish get some automotive sandpaper in the higher grits and work your way up. I just used a pencil eraser to move it up and down in the direction the bullet would normally feed. I've had some that even though I got them nice and shiny it still needed the actual sandpaper treatment to really slick it up.   I think I have some left if you want to try it one day.
  3. Man that's great and disappointing at the same time!
  4. Had an awesome time and enjoyed the group I shot with. Perfect weather for a shoot. Thanks to everyone who helped put it on. And we really need some TGO hats. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'll be there with a buddy. Looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Man that's a powerful video. Very few subjects get me all choked up but the loss as well as the abuse of animals is almost at the top. Thanks for posting.
  7. Another vote for the ESEE 5 here. Mine is a beast.
  8. That's what I get for thinking.    My guess is they are walking a fine line with the ATF since they actually have two separate triggers just joined together mechanically. Everyone will be righting the ATF letters soon asking them to define "trigger".
  9. Wouldn't it have to be ammo related? The hammer is tied together so both firing pins are being hit at the same time. The barrels both seem to be flush with each other on the front so unless one barrel chamber is slightly forward of the other then I'd think it would have to be ammo. If that's the case then the barrel would have to be a little bit shorter on the inside.
  10. Lot's of good videos on Youtube about how to fill them out. It's somewhat confusing in a few spots but not too bad overall. Mr guns and gear put out a good one if you haven't checked it out.
  11. I'd be surprised if they don't push it back more. They will get an insane amount of applications after releasing this statement (more money for them). Wait times are also about to skyrocket. I am in no way for the change but I really got the trust for the other benefits it provides over the fact that I can bypass those three initial things. Those that did it just to bypass that will be pissed.  :pleased:
  12. I have one of these and I can't tell any difference in it and the PSA ones. Probably the same thing and as others have said on here a milspec lower is a milspec lower. I have used Guns and Leather Hendersonville for all of my transfers.
  13. Also if anyone in my area wants to make a quick buck and have a tractor I need to have a small field bush hogged. About an acre so it won't take long. I'll pay you and provide a six pack of your choice if you are in to that.
  14. Someone on here messaged me a few months back about selling/delivering some dirt and I must have deleted the PM. If you can please message me again I'd appreciate it. I'm looking to get some "good" dirt to level out some places on my property where we had a water line installed and also some "OK" dirt to build my berm for my range. I'm in Lebanon.
  15. Man I'm so glad you posted this. It somehow led me to an internet surfing session that led to Sling TV. It's a $20 streaming service that included ESPN, AMC and basically all the other channels we watch regularly. I have been planning to get an Xbox One which has the app for Sling TV. Between that, an antenna and the possibility of the Xbox having a DVR function before the end of the year you just saved me some money and gave me a good reason to get an Xbox!
  16. This club is very close to my house and am wondering if any of you guys are members? I'm trying to get my wife into a shooting sport and IDPA is a little intimidating for her right now. She does like to shoot though and really enjoys shooting skeet. Neither of us have done it competitively but I think she would pick up quickly. Any info on the club and/or general advice on getting started in the sport would be appreciated. We will both be getting a shotgun for it and I'm leaning towards a semi auto. I'd like to have an over and under but I want something I can duck hunt with as well. I may be the odd man out but I'm sure a good semi-auto will get the job done. I have a cheap Maverick 88 but it's just my beater shotgun.
  17. I'll be reloading my own soon as well once I do some lengthy testing.
  18. I'll have to check them out. Had no idea about them so thanks.
  19. That is freakin' cool.
  20. Yep that's exactly how I have it setup. I finally got around to ordering some 9mm dies and pistol powder today so I can see the turret press really shine! I have been waiting on Bass Pro to have Bullseye available online so I can use ship to store. Gonna try Unique if I don't like Bullseye. I'm sure I can get it locally but just don't have the time to drive around looking for it. I'm gonna get with David at some point this year and spend a bunch of money for bulk supplies.
  21. Cool. I think I should be good to go since I won't be casting anytime soon. I'm gonna make myself a little jig setup for cutting the brass down first. My plan is to get some factory ammo, shoot a few and the re size those and compare them to the resized/cut down .223 brass. I'm guessing the difference will be small. I did read some posts of yours over on the other site talking about spring back and whatnot. These Lee dies are cheap enough to try I guess.
  22. I am second guessing myself now. I did not buy the 4 die set which comes with the neck sizer. I bought the standard 3 die set and had to buy an extra "rifle charging die" as well as the double disk kit to use with the auto disk measure. The pistol die sets include the "powder through expanding die". Makes sense now. I haven't reloaded .223 in a while so I forgot what I had haha.
  23. So I currently use the Lee Classic Turret press for loading my .223 stuff. The 4 die set of Lee dies included a powder through expanding die for .223. The 300 blackout die set does not come with an expanding die or any type of powder through die. http://leeprecision.com/3-di-300aac-blkout.html   Do these cases not need expanding when loading factory jacketed bullets? Do any of you know of an powder through expanding die that will work? I see that they have a non expanding powder through die that I may have to use. I want to be able to use my auto-disk dispenser on this. If it matter I will be making my brass from .223.
  24. Wingshooter did you ever complete this one? I was planning on building my upper but it's hard to beat Radical's price for a complete upper. I'm sure I'll change out the handguard and gas block eventually when I get a suppressor but this will get me shooting.
