  1. If we do it on the weekend/Saturday we could also try to head to a range afterwards. Just have to wait and see what works best for the majority but that would make the trip over worth it.
  2. Mon, Tues, and Thurs are good for me during the week. I'm okay with a Saturday get together as well. I guess everyone should just post up what days are available and we can make a decision. We had at least 10 guys last time.
  3. I agree. .22lr revolvers are fun and I'm sure someone would give around $200 for it.
  4. Not sure if anyone has got together since the last time we did it but how about another get together at the Shoney's on Donelson one evening after work. If we nail down a date we can reserve the back room from what I was told last time. Weekends are fine too but if the weather is nice I imagine we will all be out shooting or doing something else.   Edit: I have Shoney's on Donelson Pike reserved for 5:30 until on Tuesday 7/28. We had a great time last time doing this and hope to have another good turnout. We have the back "conference" room all to ourselves so should have plenty of room. I will be going straight after work and eating there so feel free to join.   If you plan to attend please vote in the poll just so we can have an idea of how many.
  5. We do need to set up another meet and eat at Shoney's and follow that up with a range trip the following weekend.
  6. Really like the handguard! I wasn't sure if I would like the round guards but I doub't I ever own another quad rail. I will go for one I can add rail sections to though if I need it.
  7. I ended up going with the Roundup "poison ivy and thick brush". It specifically mentions wild blackberries so I figure it will work. It was all they had so we will see. I also discovered that I had a gallon of regular round up and some other stuff so I sprayed the driveway and other places I don't want to weed eat.   From what I read the triclopyr is the main ingredient that really does a number on woody brush any time of the year. I read that glyphosate will also kill them but not as thoroughly and works best around the fall. I guess it absorbs differently or something. I am sure the Crossbow stuff works better as it is mainly triclopyr and 2,4-d but I bet this will eventually kill it. May have to spray it again since it is so dense. Not sure if I got to the innermost vines.
  8. Yeah I hear they are resilient. The other one I pulled up was where my garden is now. The thing had roots everywhere.
  9. Well my wife is gonna stop by tractor supply on the way home to see if they have anything similar. It compares itself to Roundup Pro but I don't know if they will have that or not.
  10. Yeah I'm wondering if something like that would work better. The crossbow is supposed to preserve the grass. I'm thinking something like that can't be a strong as something that kills everything in it's path.
  11. Is it similar to crossbow? Looks like similar ingredients.   Luckily this area bush is in an area that we normally mow with the lawnmower so I shouldn't have an issue with them coming back.
  12. Well I have three more on further back about the size of house trailers so I'm not gonna miss them. This one is in the way of my shooting berm!
  13. It's pretty big and has lot's of briars. I just don't want to mess with it really haha. I'll have to do that once it's dead anyways but it's bee easier to handle.
  14. That's what I have been reading about. I'm guessing you have experience with it? You think I am too late to spray this year? Seems like as long as they are active it should soak up the spray.
  15. Ha unfortunately I can't use that fun option. It is right next to my fence line which means it's right next to a bunch of tall flammable grass. I'll have to go the slow way.
  16. Just looking for the best spray to kill one of these. I removed one before with a walk behind bush hog but would rather not rent one again just for that. I see a couple different type sprays available but have no epxerience with any of them. Any ideas?
  17. Couldn't get anyone to come with me but I'll be there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ill be honest. After shooting my almost SBR this weekend without the stock I am wanting to build a pistol. It's not as hard to shoot accurately as I thought. I believe I will do it in 300 blackout as well though. I bet the 5.56 is a little fireball shooter with the short barrel. I like the idea of having a separate upper for .22. 19. I'm gonna wait until the SBR comes in. Once I get a stock I have a feeling the groups will tighten up. I do want to try some sub sonics though as well. Gonna have to load a few up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Got to shoot it today. Didn't go past 50 yards but got a good grouping. I wasn't steady enough without the stock to hope for anything good past 50. Shooting the Remington 120 grain umc. I'll be sighting it in with 125 grain noslers as well so I didn't see any point in fine tuning it with this ammo. I think I did anyway though. Seems that the radical firearms uppers and barrels are good to go. The bolt and charging handle were stiff as all get out though. Have to do some breaking I'm on them. My other standard bolt wasn't like that. Maybe it's the melonite finish. Disregard the small holes around it. That's stray .223. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. News is reporting that the guns were legally purchased/owned.
  22. Oh I will. I'm excited as a kid on Christmas morning.
  23. I stand corrected. I had it in my head that it was a federal building and all that jazz. Now that you say that I remember reading it before. I guess that's just my natural skepticism of politicians showing itself and typing before I think haha.    In that case I'm glad to hear it and hope they actually do something with this.
  24. I'm glad the discussion was started but as I read it they aren't planning to do anything that will allow folks to carry in the building. They just want to change the sign to say "no illegal weapons" which does nothing really. It's still illegal to carry a gun in there. If Grubb said she wants carry in the building to not be illegal she's going to have to do more than change the wording of the sign.   Edit: as stated below I was wrong.  :pleased:
  25. Surprisingly I can still get good eye relief using the tube. I am very impressed with the clarity and eye relief of this scope so far. It's consistent all the way through the magnification as well. None of that "halo" effect as you zoom in.
