  1. Wow. That changes things. Not sure how they manage that voodoo but that would solve the problem and give lots of versatility. And they claim the you don’t have to re zero. You have any experience with the ammo?
  2. Hmmm. I had not. What’s the biggest differences? I’ve shot one before and thought it was very tame honestly.
  3. Looking at the Winchester Super Grades. I think I’d be afraid to take that in the woods! It’s beautiful. I went to to look at a few earlier and couldn’t find many wood stocks. Guess the market for them isn’t there any longer. I may be ordering this one sight unseen. Right now I’m pretty much going back and forth between the Rem 700 and the Winchester 70. Probably not a super grade but the featherweight.
  4. Awesome story! I actually have a Marlin 336 from the 70’s that was my grandpas. It will fill the “reliable, beat up, awesome lever action hand me down” category.
  5. Anyone have an opinion on the REM 700 vs Ruger Hawkeye vs Winchester?
  6. My wife killed her first deer with a .243 at about 230 yards. Dropped where it stood.
  7. I’ll have to research them. Is it offered in a bolt gun?
  8. I have been eyeballing 6.5 creedmoor. Any major differences in those two that you know of?
  9. After a loooong wait my wife and I just had our first child (Son) and I am looking to buy a nicer hand-me-down hunting rifle for him/myself. I’m really recoil sensitive so am looking for opinions on what caliber some of your children have used when younger. I’d prefer to get a caliber that will serve him into adulthood and that I will enjoy using in the mean time. .243 was my first choice but would prefer a little more power at distance. .308? .270? Im also looking for suggestions on the rifle itself. Wood stock for sure. Rem 700 CDL or something similar is what I’m thinking. Probably going to try to keep it around or under $1000 for just the rifle.
  10. No kidding! Id buy at least 10 boxes for that price. Maybe more. Probably a limit on the rebate though.
  11. Good to know. That’s what I’ve been using. I’m waiting on a new front sight now that will hopefully be here before Saturday.
  12. I plan to use my Marlin 336 this year for whitetail. My shots won’t be over 50 yards max. Having never hunted with a 30-30 what ammo have you had the best luck with?
  13. A very nice comic book store has opened up about 5 minutes from my house and I’m contemplating getting into the hobby. I figure if I keep it down to a few different publications it will be a cheap hobby and something easy and fun to collect. Anyone else into this and have some pointers on where to start? I read x-men as a kid but that’s about it. I’m sure I’ll start with the marvel and DC stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’ll throw in my M&P 2.0 compact into the ring with a stipulation. With the factory stippling texture in place it was terrible to carry IWB. After sanding it down with 150 grit followed by 1000 grit it is much better. Add the Apex FSS and flat trigger and it’s amazing. Pretty much Glock 19 size. A tad heavier. 15. As I log back in for the first time in a while today I notice a few other posts of the same kind. What a coincidence. I decided a few days ago to unplug from social media and remembered how much actually useful content and discussion is had on this forum. Good to be back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’ll agree to leave it in the truck. Can’t leave it at home though. Never know when I’ll run into and Ole Miss fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Ok folks, what's a good weekend in November? I'm thinking the 11th. I'll be at a shooting match most of the day on the 4th. Pretty much any of the other 3 works for me. Lets throw suggestions out there for the when and where. I was thinking Shoney's somewhere because they aren't usually crowded and have decent food and coffee. Ill let everyone chime in today and go ahead and set a date.
  18. A 10 pack of D&H 5.56 mags. I feel a storm brewing...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Just let the dealer and they made me a deal I couldn’t refuse on the Titan HD 2500. Next model up from what I wanted with bigger tires and the Kawasaki engine. Never thought I’d be excited about a new lawnmower haha. Thanks for the feedback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We actually sold Ferris at a previous job. They are very nice but I’m not sure I want to pay the premium for the suspension in place of what I’ll get with the Toro for the money. I also don’t have a dealer near enough that I’d like to use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I think I have settled in on a Toro Titan HD 2000. Has the Kohler engine and seems to be well regarded. Going to look at one Saturday and hopefully get a good deal on one. Never thought I’d pay this much for a mower but I guess that’s the cost of owning land. Buy once cry once though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah mine is dead so I need one pronto. Probably buying Saturday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Only issue I have with used is that I want the warranty and I’m starting to lump mowers in with ATVs and street bikes in my “ don’t buy used) category. I’m shy of buying someone else’s problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Mine just went the way of the dodo. I'm looking for a 60" cut and don't want to spend $10k. Think entry level commercial. I won't be cutting anything but my own yard but it's roughly 4-5 acres. I'm hoping for a $6000-$8000 range. I have been told to look at Toro. I haven't done much research yet so please tell me what you have and why you like it or hate it. Thanks!
  25. I know many folks make dedicated lowers for this but I already have a mil-spec lower sbr’d I’d like to use. Which manufacturer would you recommend for the mag block and upper parts. Pretty much going to be used for pcc competition so long distance accuracy is of no concern (if it even can be achieved). Somewhat of a budget build with reliability dictating the spending floor.
