  1. I am planning on installing this outlet behind my plasma tv which I will hang on the wall. I have never had any dealings with this type of surge suppressor so any first hand knowledge would be appreciated. Also most of my home has ungrounded wiring. Obviously it would be better if I can wire this into a grounded circuit but I am wondering if it will provide any protection to the TV if on a non grounded circuit. It is my understanding surge suppressors usually route the excess power to the ground but this outlet has a little insert in it that will "burn up" I believe. I am a little confused by it myself. They don't provide a description on that website but these things are all over the internet and I still could not find my answer. Thanks
  2. I'd let you come shoot it but it's a little far for ya. For the price they are worth looking at. The only thing I did with mine was polish the feed ramp and expose part of the barrel. Didn't need it but I did it for peace of mind.
  3. So sorry to hear that. I can't imagine ours being gone and don't want too...
  4. I would check out the Kel-Tec Pf9. I've had one for about two months and I love it! It has some punch to it though due to its size but it does what it is supposed to. I've read some having feeding issues but I think it is some older models. There was one for sale on here somewhere.
  5. This one in particular was 10x12. Here's the situation. My wife and I just bought a new house and among all the other stuff we have to buy I need somewhere to store the 4wheeler, lawnmower, and all the other small stuff(shovels, tools, etc. I have considered a carport cover but to close the sides and ends in is really expensive. I have also looked at the "shed in a box" from shelter logic but it looks like it would be a waste of money.
  6. ^ Good advice! That hadn't even crossed my mind! The more I look at these steel sheds on the internet the more I am talking myself out of it. They just look so flimsy. I know you get what you pay for but this seems to be the best option in our price range. I wish I had about $2000 to do it right but the wife has already allocated the funds. haha
  7. Thanks for the info guys. I think the pump may be the way to go. I'm thinking of going bigger on the slab so I will need prob 3 or 4 yards.
  8. I have seen on the web and heard from a few folks that you can rent a small pull behind unit with up to a yard of concrete already mixed in it for small jobs. I am wanting to put one of those metal buildings from Lowe's on a slab in my backyard but I don't believe a concrete truck will make it into the back yard as the fence opening is too small. Does anyone know of a place that rents these around the Memphis area? Other suggestions are welcome if you have experience with these buildings. I figure I'll have about $600 to $650 in the project if I do it this way. Thanks
  9. Also it looks like it won't run in the background.
  10. Yeah I saw that would be in there. I'm running the 3gs though so no flash. I want some type of audible or vibration notification. I read that "missed call" has some issues. Is this not the case?
  11. Just got an iPhone and learned that there is STILL not an option built in to the OS to have the phone continually notify you of missed calls and/or messages. Anyone know of or have experience with an app that will do this well?
  12. Phones are gone. thanks
  13. I'm in Moscow. The tech told me today we are just on the edge of service. The map shows otherwise but the bars don't lie.
  14. Well nevermind. They let me out of my contracts so I have the two blackberrys mentions above for sale now. I won't start a new thread for them just pm me if interested.
  15. This is a shot in the dark but I have a Cellular South account with two lines ( Mine and the wife's) I am trying to get out of if anyone is in the market for cell service. It would save you the activation fees and you would get a blackberry curve and bold with otterboxes out of the deal. They want almost $600 bucks to cancel my contract. We are moving and the service is just not there at my new house. Both have the smartphone unlimited plan and runs about $145 a month after taxes and all for both lines.
  16. I hate to revive a dead thread but I just wanted to thank everyone who gave advice. My wife and I are under contract now for a home. The termite clearance is done so pending a good inspection we will be in the house soon. We did use a "buyers agent" at no cost to us and settled with the sellers with only one counter offer. I may post up some pics after we get everything done. Thanks again for all the help and advice!
  17. Thanks for all the great advice guys. We have pretty much decided to get a buyers agent and already have one picked out. None of the houses we are looking at are listed with her firm so I figure she may be ok. haha. As for not know squat about what I am doing; I know enough to not get taken to town and back but I agree a professional is a must.
  18. All great advice guys! I do have a step dad that is a contractor so he could look it over. I didn't realize that about an inspector and it kind of worries me that he may not be liable for anything he misses. I guess anything can be put in a contingency (spelling?) agreement though so as long as somebody catches a potential problem I guess that's okay.
  19. My wife and I have been living in a mobile home for two years since we got married so technically this won't be our first home but it is definitely a bigger purchase. Does anyone have any general advice on what to look out for structurally or cosmetically on the home? I know the inspector will check the foundation and all the big things but I want to be sure I don't miss anything and wish I didn't. General tips for the whole home buying process and/or stories are also welcome. Thanks!
  20. I had the same kind of trouble out of my 2000 F150. I was getting the cylinders 2 and 4 or some type of error. Ended up just needing a good cleaning in some of the ports. I didn't have to buy any new parts but paid wayyyy to much for labor. I did try a new coil pack/ spark plugs/ wires at first but that wasn't the problem. You could take it to a dealer and pay $50 or so and get them to run a diagnostic on it which should be able to find the problem and then tackle it yourself to save some money.
  21. Yeah I had the strip in my last truck (f150) and I loved it. The windshield is not as tall in this truck and a decent sized strip would go pretty far down the window. I just didn't think I would like having a little tiny strip on it so I opted out. But what you say is true; it does provide alot. I was also scared I would be asking for it with the strip as it is IMO very eye catching.
  22. Thats a great deal! It's definately worth it to get it done. You'd spend $50 at autozone on tint and razorblades to do it yourself plus you get the better quality metalized tint and not the dyed stuff.
  23. Mine was about $168 with taxes. I did not get a strip on the front glass.
  24. I ended up going with 15%. They did a great job and only took about 15 minutes. A+ for Tennessee Tint Co. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
