I just recieved this in the mail today and installed it. Just trying to get some opinions on it. I know it's my gun; my taste and I do like the way it looks and the message it conveys but since it is my carry weapon is it a bad idea? I'm not the type to put the punisher logo or some other aggressive anything on my guns,vehicle, whatever. It was between this and the american flag. That may be a little extreme (maybe not) but I definately think it would help. From what I hear I had it easy. I did not recieve too many "whoopin's" but I was a pretty good kid. My grandpa made out like you were in fear for your life when you got home with a bad report from school. The parent definately needs some scolding when this happens for sure. In this day and age though I think even with a good raising a kid will still be a kid and give in to peer pressure and act out a little. I am not condoning anything near this awful though.

I graduated in 2005. It's amazing how far it has degraded since then. Don't get me wrong; we even the bad ones had some respect for there elders. This is just a lack of a good raising. My butt would still be hurting if someone in my family knew I did this!

Yeah my local range said they would slip them on for me but they did not have the ones I was looking for so I just ordered them online. Thanks to all for your offers of putting them on. I am going to get a nylon punch and attempt it myself. I will post up my results.

Unfortunately mikegideon is right. I used to despise glocks until I really took the time to try it and ended up working really well for me. I'm sure the same will go for any other. As everyone else said you should go shoot a few; pick out two or three you really like and then if you can't make up your mind come back and get some more detailed info and experiences from the members here.

I would reccomend the Glock route as that is what I have. If you plan to ever CC it I would go for the 17. If it was ONLY a carry gun I would reccomend the 19. I did succesfully and comfortably carry a 17 before I got the 19. I will also say I didn't find the 17 to be far more accurate than the 19 so I would choose whichever one feels better in your hand. I'm sure either could be enhanced to your liking with aftermarket accesories. I have never shot a 34 though so I can't really comment on them. I just don't have a need for that much of a specialty gun.

Well I have seen the one handed method of racking the slide on your belt by using the rear sight. I konw that is a little farfetched that that will ever happen but who know. I shot a G19 with the heinie straight eights last night and really like them so I will probably go with the Ameriglo I-dot equivalent.

WOW. Didn't realize it cost that much to get them installed. I might end up just replacing the front sigt with a trijicon or something. I don't mind spending the dough if I NEED to but I am mainly just reading what people are saying on the interwebz about the plastic sights being crap and instances of them just coming off. While it would be nice to have night sights I shoot fine with the factory sights.

Yeah I am leaning more towards the traditional 3 dot sight now. I have been looking at mine trying to picture the "I-dot" style and I don't think I would like it. I tend to focus my eyes somewhere in between the front sight and the target so the three dots would probably work better. Trijicon and meprolight seem to be the industry leader. I don't want to go cheap on these. Anyone install there own? I won't be shelling out the cash for a rear sight tool so do you think it's better to have them installed?

I am looking to get a new set of sights to replace the plastic Glock 19 sights. I would really like a contrasting color but the fiber optics seem to be more prone to breakage. I was also looking into the ameriglo I-Dot sights. Does anyone have any experience with this type? It seems like that would assist in getting a faster sight picture.

Wow really? I would that that is something that would stick. I will give it a shot and see what happens. So it is more than likely not going to get better or worse with different sights?

Maybe some scotch tape or something like that? Just enough to blur the vision?

Here's my problem: I have just began taking some handgun self defense classes to get a little structured training under my belt. I have always shot with one eye closed and am trying to break that habit and shoot with both eyes as instructed in the class. I am having some difficulty quickly focusing on the front sight and am wondering if this could be due to the sights (or could at least be improved with different sights). The gun I am carrying is a Glock 17 with tritium meprolights installed. I am wondering if a set of fiberoptic sights or even a set of the all black sights would help me. I am slowly getting better at not letting my focus "jump" from the front sights. Does anyone have any input on this?

I had never thought about it that way. I guess in the adrenaline rush you may not remember if you have a mag left. Touch to see if you have a mag first then drop. If you were to train using the "pull" method that would add way too much time to the process.

Just curious how you guys train when it comes to extracting an empty mag from a handgun. It seems the fastest way to change an empty mag is to let the empty one fall free while going for the fresh mag. The only problem is some guns do not drop free easily or at all. Would you consider it bad practice to train by pulling the mag out first then going for the fresh mag? I would think with practice you could become proficient either way. Let me know your thoughts.

Here's the scoop. We operate a tractor parts business and have well over 1000 parts we sell online and over the phone. We use quickbooks enterprise to keep up with out inventory and process the phone orders. We also currently have an online shopping cart through GoDaddy which is starting to show it's weakness. Not only will it not reliably link with quickbooks but it is also very very slow on the backend side we work on. Our main goal is to keep our inventory straight and for the online store to automatically deduct items sold from quickbooks. I would like for all changes to the items made in quickbooks to reflect on the online store automatically as well if this is possible. I am looking to get a streamlined system setup where we can continue to take phone orders AND have what I mentioned above. I realize there are numerous shopping carts available and am hoping someone has experience with this. We also may be interested in having someone set all of this up for us. Kind of a "turn key" deal. If you have any info or comments please let me know. Thanks!
