  1. He didn't hold the door open and shoot at them from what I saw. He fired at them multiple times until they left and THEN the threat was over. In the training I have taken I have learned that you cannot expect to always have a perfect shot at the BG by standing still the whole time. As far as I am concerned he could have been moving not only to get a better shot at the BG but getting the other folks out of the line of fire. I will say he was awful close to a few folks but in the end no one was shot but the BG.
  2. I would probably just call 911 and leave. I am with alot of you in that it would be painful to watch and not do something. Therefor if I call it in and get out of there. I am no longer involved and can't make a stupid decision. I might not sleep well knowing I MIGHT could have helped but I WILL be at home with my family and not in jail. It's sad that the world is like this today but honestly I carry for my sake as well as close loved one's. Everyone else should do the same. This is definitely a hairy situation.
  3. !!!! Must have been the super duper tacticool model.
  4. He had know way of knowing whether he had a gun on him as well or not. If one guy did I would assume the other guy at least might have one.
  5. TMF I agree with your first post but not so much the second. While I see where you are coming from I still would try my best to be within the law. I have no illusion that I will be in a level headed state if it ever does happen though. DaddyO:
  6. Neither of them answered this simple question which is the main point I am trying to argue. "If someone can show me where the law clearly say's that just because these guys were running away that they could no longer do any harm then I will seriously consider changing my opinion. Until then I say good shoot."
  7. Good post. Probably what I should have said to begin with. Also DaddyO no hard feelings. I'm here to learn.
  8. Maybe he was chasing or maybe he was moving for a better shot. We will never know but you have to entertain all possibility's. As stated in the articles charges will probably not be filed so I say good shoot. I respect your opinion but still don't agree. If someone can show me where the law clearly say's that just because these guys were running away that they could no longer do any harm then I will seriously consider changing my opinion. Until then I say good shoot.
  9. The difference is if they were outside that would mean the GG would have followed (gave chase) the BG outside. If they are inside the GG did not give chase to the BG. Again I don't agree with your definition of imminent threat and to restate what I said earlier I and just about anyone can shoot backwards while they run.
  10. The part where you are defining imminent threat as being over when the bad guy is running away no matter what. You can't know for sure what his next move is going to be. If he gets outside and the "Good guy" follows him out the door and shoots him then yeah that's bad. If I am still inside the computer cafe and he can still shoot at me then no the threat isn't over. I am solely arguing this based on the evidence and video in this case; not ANY case. Again I am not arguing that running away cannot (and in most cases probably will) be perceived as a threat being ended; just not in this case.
  11. Well that does sound like I am just trying to argue with you now that I look at it. I guess the point I am trying to make is I just don't agree that the guy was chasing after them and that the articles you listed (or anything else I have read for that matter) don't clearly define when the danger is over. That is up to us to decide and live with the consequences of our actions and decisions. I respect your opinion but just don't agree with it. It just can't be that cut and dry.
  12. Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree there. If someone comes into an internet with weapon drawn and telling me to give them money, phones, etc. then I will assume the mean me harm. If they are running away then I will still assume they can change there minds, turn around, shoot me, then continue collecting money, phones, etc. I agree with you about not "giving chase" and not firing when the threat is over but this guy hardly gave chase. Again it is a fine line. If he had stepped out of the door into the street and kept firing then I wouldn't agree with that. He was inside with just a glass door in between him and the bad guy. Also that article does not back up the statement that "Two thugs running away from you, even though they are armed, do NOT constitute an imminent threat."
  13. Can you please point me to somewhere that backs up this statement? Not the immediate danger part but what constitutes an imminent threat. I always thought that was up to a jury to decide. I could be wrong though.
  14. Who's to say that the guy doesn't go for the gun again while on the ground and fire back at the elderly man? All I am saying is just because they are running doesn't mean they aren't still a threat. I can run and shoot backwards.
  15. hmmmmmmmm......
  16. Pretty sure Walmart is bigger than them. (I know I know not all Walmarts are back into guns )
  17. Same here. When I drive through Jackson I just feel the urge to stop in. Don't know why because the only thing I ever bought there was a 7 dollar mag holder.
  18. I believe I would have done the same thing as him. Until they are gone away alot farther than that they are a threat to me and still have guns. That is a good point though. It all comes back to what your "line in the sand is". In that situation though I'm with him.
  19. Oh yeah definitely not! They run a fine operation there. I guess I didn't realize they did morning classes. I have take SSS Handgun 1 and 2 there and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  20. I know what you mean. Going to the range is love hate for me. Were you at Range USA or Rangemaster if you don't mind me asking? Range USA does have that other smaller range that I am pretty sure only gets use in classes or busy nights. Maybe you could request to be put in there if you go in the mornings.
  21. Check out Rick Garcia. I bought my belt from him and his prices were very reasonable. http://www.rgleather.freehomepage.com/index_2.html Check out the bottom left picture on this page. That is the setup he made for me. Also just give him a call. He is a one man operation and will talk with you about what you want. Very nice guy.
  22. Wow. This should be interesting. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
