Nah the 597 didn't have a scope when I bought it. Every Leopold scope I have ever had was awesome. This one was given to me though and I wouldn't pay the money for a leopold if I were buying for a .22. Simmons make a good scope as well for less money.

Yeah mine has the rails cut in as well. I have a leupold varmint scope on it now that works fine. Just something about iron sights that is satisfying though. I was wanting to make it a truck gun and buy a 10/22 for the leupold. Oh well.

Uh oh. I am pretty sure mine has the holes tapped with screws in them but I will have to double check. I sure hope so.

I picked up a 597 a year or two ago from a guy at church and am wanting to add iron sights to it. The problem is I can't find the part numbers or anyone that carries the set. Brownell's has the rear but not the front. Any advice? It seems that alot of them don't even come with iron sights now.

Me too! I really think this season will be awesome. There are a lot more people involved so they should have more individual stories going on. The three Walking Dead game episodes released so far have been doing a good job of holding me over.

I don't find it hard to believe that the fed's would recommend that but would local LE really recommend that??? I have ran into LEO's that thought they should be the only one's carrying guns but I don't think that the majority do. Maybe I'm wrong. Also it seems like you got the most detailed response of all. Maybe email him back and see if you can start a conversation with him about there reasoning. I know you already pretty much covered the bases in your first email but who knows.

The biggest problem I have with it now is the ego's/attitudes of some of the players. There are still some good role models playing but some of them are just bad eggs IMO. I guess they don't realize a lot of youngsters are still looking at them and want to be like them one day.

HA! That happend to me in Bass Pro. I got a free Saints T-shirt for ordering boxes at work and was wearing it that night. Some girl randomly looked at me and said "What's the score?" I had no idea what she was talking about.

I would also like more info on what to expect. I frequent the range but have never attended this event. I spoke to them on the phone about it. If you buy tickets in advance it is $15 per person ammo included. You can shoot their guns or your own. From the video it looks like you go down the line shooting different weapons but they said they have changed it up. In addition to that you can pay another $25 per person for a VIP ticket which will let you shoot some fully auto weapons at special targets. I will definitely be opting in for this.

I am lucky in that most places I frequent are HCP friendly. I am not the type to say I WILL NOT go anywhere that I can't carry but I try my best not to if it is an optional thing like a restaurant or movie. What's that saying? "Common sense isn't too common" or something like that.

It's just hard to imagine folks know THAT much about sports and the players. I guess it's no different than knowing all the stuff about guns or video games that I do (or think I do anyways). I do actually envy these guys a little though. I do miss out on some good conversations and/or arguments.

Just curious about how much you guys follow your sports. I like watching my team play but I do not know the ins and outs of every player and stats and all that. I am not knocking anyone that does either. I am just wondering if I am the oddball or not.
