1. I just love to play out these internet conversations with people like this  in my head and pretend that instead of online they were in person. Oh how the outcomes would change.... In reality though these guys wouldn't have the nerve to ever even think about saying stuff like this.
2. Go to edit on the first post then click "full editor". It will give you the option.
3. Do you have a source for this? Just curious. I've always heard they were the same except for the casing and tip color.
4. Good answer!
5. so the questions begs.... what changed your mind?
6.  I am picturing that in my head.
7. Very nice!
8. If you want to shoot it I'd go ahead. You can still find defense ammo pretty easy if you look if you are worried about having some on hand for that. Especially since this is your first gun I'd go ahead and shoot the target ammo so you can enjoy your new purchase.
9. Hopefully we won't need a license for that soon.
10. The shipping online is what kills me. If you buy bulk it ain;t bad but $16 to ship two boxes hurts.
11. That is my situation. I have a new gun I have only shot about 40 rounds through. I broke down and ordered 100 rounds this morning at higher prices just to have something to shoot and only because they will ship today. Other than that I am roaming the local Walmarts in the morning hoping to score. I don't want to hoard. I want to shoot!
12. Yeah I took that into consideration. It may not fit everyone but this one fits me just right. I intentionally set the shelf on the rear side of the front 4x4's to allow a little leg room. I don't have a stool that is the right height yet but am thinking about buying one of the nice kobalt shop stools that are adjustable. Leg room wise is juuuust right with the different chairs I have tried. It's just that none of them I have are the right height. I wanted to be able to stand up and work as well as sit.   Just an FYI I do have long monkey arms though so that may make a difference. If it was any deeper than it is it would be uncomfortable.
13. Sweet! Glad they are working with you on it. If they do make it right and make you happy maybe consider changing the thread title. Or maybe not if they don't. :pleased:
14. I caved in this morning and paid more for 100 round online BUT they ship out today from lucky gunner so I don't have to wait 2 weeks. I wanted something to shoot NOW so I didn't mind. I won't be doing it again though. I plan on hitting the Walmarts in the area tomorrow morning and seeing what I can find. After I get enough to go shoot a little I am swearing it all off until this crap subsides.
15. Actually that is just a piece of kitchen drawer liner. Cheap to replace! :pleased:  I did poly the MDF though with about 3 coats of clear satin.
16. Yeah the two front bolts/screws will go into the hopefully depending on the offset. I don't have it in my hand yet but we will see. Will definitely be putting plywood underneath.   I remember back in the day painting a boat with John Deere green tractor paint and having to mix in some hardener. It doesn't have to look spectacular or anything since it is just a vice but I would like something that doesn't just flake off in a few months.
17. Finally got her all painted up. I let the wood dry in that room with the fan on for a few days and the paint went on fine. I tested it on a small spot first to see if it would dry correctly and it did. Uploaded with ImageShack.us My grandpa has an older but well made (in the USA) 3.5" vice he has given me. It needs to be degreased, painted and lubed but it is built like a tank. Any suggestions as to what paint to use that will hold up well? I am also planning to make some brass jaws for it to replace the steel ones.
18. I have only done a couple as I buy mostly used but mine were pretty fast as well. Not that fast though. Nice to hear good stories about it.
19. I am figuring MOST of the folks on here actually want to find some ammo to shoot. Not just for hoarding or resale. I agree with you but I can only wait at the back of the line for so long.
20. I think some folks are going to be in for a sad surprise. The box in the pic says 235 and no mention of 10 boxes in the description.
21. Ha may want to scratch that. The heading on gunbot says 2350 rounds as does the heading on the site but the description says 235 rounds. Surely that's not right....
22. http://www.laxammo.com/ammunition/22-lr-ammo/winchester-22lr-36gr.-hp-2350-rds/44-228
23. Yeah I am still doing it, just getting very discouraged....I hope you are right though.
24. I don't want to turn this into an OC vs CC thread so PLEASE don't contribute to that but...... I think I am going to go against my better judgement and start OC'ing all I can. If my letters and emails are falling on mostly deaf ears I think OC'ing will at least do my parts to expose the general public to the presence of a law abiding, sane, responsible, gun owner/carrier. If anything it will hopefully lead to more questions about guns in general, why I carry, etc. I have already "converted 5 or 6 friends and it is a good feeling. I feel like I personally can accomplish more doing that than sending emails.   I believe if you do it right and give them the correct information and maybe even a little free 1 on 1 lesson time they can in turn do the same for their other friends. Best way to get the fire started in my opinion. Again I know most have been doing this all along but I am just gasping for air I guess. Looking for something to make a difference.
25. He fooled me! I was thinking "OH SNAP!!"
