  1. Good luck Ruger! I hope you get a good one.
  2. I hunted over acorns yesterday evening and only saw one fawn. It appears that the place I hunt is having a huge bumper crop of acorns. I've got them all including white oak, red oak, and chinkapin. Believe it or not, but most of my trail camera photos captured are from a trail leading to a hedge apple tree. It's got me puzzled this year because I could always count on them being at the acorns.
  3. There's some CCI at the Walmart in columbia right now.
  4. I'm by no means defending Kings. I'm just like the rest of you, I shop around for the best deals. I haven't talked with Gary at lock n load lately. For ammo, I always try Walmart and Dunhams first. I have noticed that Kings prices seem to have gotten worse lately. Keep in mind that I haven't been gun shopping in over a month. The only stuff I'm looking for now is more reloading supplies. I need to just make a drive to see David.
  5. The owner is the one that told me why his prices are high on that ammo. I don't agree with his tactics by keeping it that price, but that's his business to run how he sees fit. I'd rather lose a little than lose it all. I don't think they're too worried though because they've expanded by leaps and bounds in the past few years. They've even opened up a second shop in Pulaski. I've seen good and not good deals at their store. Like anything else, you have to know exactly what you're looking for and how much money you're willing to pay for it. I try to support my local shops in Columbia. I think we're very fortunate to have several privately owned gun stores in this town. However, they do have to have competitive prices to get my money. They don't have to be the cheapest, but have to be reasonably in the same price range. Kings is like any other place, hit and miss depending upon what you're looking for and when you're looking for it.
  6. It just depends on what your looking for right now. John, the owner, tried to keep ammo available during the panic. However, by wishing to do that, he paid higher prices to get said ammo. Now that times are a little better, he's still got some of that ammo left and is trying not to take a big loss. They sell more of the ammo that they get in now because they get it cheaper and their price also reflects as it a cheaper price. The more expensive ammo just sits on the shelf. Like any where else, you just have to be there at the right time. They always treat me well each time I walk through the doors.
  7. I'm in for 1 lower! Also interested in an upper too. Again, thank you everyone that's working behind the scenes on this.
  8. There's a lot of great options out there. You can regularly find deals on a good used Remington 1100 12 gauge. It all depends on what your budget is as to what I'd recommend. Whatever you do though, make sure the gun fits you correctly.
  9. I came home with 10 yesterday. However, most of all it was fun and safe time well spent with a great group of guys.
  10. I'm lucky myself. I got invited to this hunt by a friend of mine that I've only known for a short time. We both just happen to enjoy all things hunting and fishing.
  11. I'm hunting a 300 acre silage field that was just cut about a week ago. It's been covered in dove.
  12. Yep he did it. I got to say that Dave and his daughter are very good people. Dave, I wish you and your family all the best of luck in your endeavors. We'll have to meet up and do some fishing sometime before you move.
  13. Currently, I'm listening to The Wild Feathers.
  14. Sorry to hear about your misadventures Dave. If you need any kind of help healing those wounds or any kind of help at all, just let me know. I'll be happy to help any way I can.
  15. I'm in. I don't care about what serial number or anything else. I'll be happy to have it with anything that refers to TGO. Thank you to everyone working on making these available to us.
  16. Have you tried Milky Spore? It basically kills off the grub that the moles like to eat in the ground. It's not cheap but works well over time.
  17. Nice work. Chive on!
  18. Depending on what day you're at The Stage, check out The Chris Weaver Band. They play there a lot and are worth a good listen.
  19. My favorite job has to be my current one. I am a wound care and hyperbaric oxygen nurse. I get to see all the blood and guts and cool stuff a guy could ever want to see. I see tiny wounds less than the size of pencil top eraser all the way up to large wounds you can literally put your arm in (and I have). I work awesome hours Monday through Friday from 8:00-4:30, no nights, no weekends, no on-call, and get paid holidays. They offer insurance, education reimbursement, paid time off, and match my 401k contributions up to 3%. I stay busy, but I never dread going into work because I have a great set of coworkers. Plus, it's close to home and pays well.
  20. I hate that this happened to the place. However, I'll continue to avoid this place as long as they deny my 2nd amendment rights. I understand that it's his choice to post his business and to an extent I also understand why. It's also my choice where to get medical help when needed. I know Chandler personally. He is a nice intelligent guy, but we're on opposing sides of the fence on this one.
  21. I have actually treated someone that was being eaten by their pet when they fell out in the floor for a couple days due to diabetic coma. I never would have believed it had I not seen the patient and verified the story with EMS. As far as this exact story, I have no idea if it's true or fake
  22. Welcome neighbor!

What kind of thermostat is it? Some of the newer digital models have several options to choose when programming. If you don't have the correct options selected, it will not work properly. There can be several heat pump options to choose from. That's just a quick thing to think about.
  24. Only way it's worth it to me is if David will be there. I haven't heard if he'll be there or not yet.

    Last of Us

I guess they try to make it challenging for people like me that like to preserve ammo by beating others relentlessly instead.
