  1. I got back yesterday morning at about 3am. Had a good time. Got sunburnt like usual, but all is well.
  2. I do believe that I'm going to enjoy it. We've rented a beach house with some friends that are bringing their kids too. Some friends of theirs are renting the house across the street. I can see myself sitting on the beach Sunday evening watching the sun go down over the water with a nice cold beer in hand just enjoying it. After we get back, I've got to finish up my house. We're planning on moving into it on the 4th of July weekend. Anybody have a truck??
  3. I'm leaving Saturday night to go to Florida as well. I'm going to St. George Island. We'll be there all week.

    Music lovers!

I like 80's rock, newer rock, and any type of metal.

Looks like a nice shooter you have there.
  6. The grip helped, but it's not enough. With all of the .45ACP guns out there with smaller grips, Glock is too late to the fight with this one. I think they will sell pretty good to the die hard Glock people, but most non-glock people will still be turned off by the large grip and odd grip angle. What can I say, it's still a Glock 21 with a little shaved off the back of the grip.
  7. I'm with you on the trigger pull of the P3AT Marswolf. It seems like quite a bit more than 5#. My wife's P32 is basically the same gun and it's trigger pull seems stiff, but smooth.
  8. My father in law borrowed my 1911 once. He saw it cocked and asked me if it was loaded. I told him that it was. He said, "I'm not going to carry a cocked gun around, could you lower the hammer?" I promptly dropped the magazine out of it and racked the slide ejecting the live round. I then checked the chamber to make double sure it wasn't loaded, dropped the slide, and then lowered the hammer. I put the magazine back in it and handed it to him. I said "Here's your rock" and he looked at me with a puzzled look on his face. I then explaned to him that a gun without a bullet in the chamber is about as usefull as a rock. I told him that I didn't recommend carrying around a gun with the hammer down on a loaded chamber unless it was designed to be carried that way (guns with decockers and double action triggers). I also informed him on the dangers of lowering a cocked 1911 hammer with one in the chamber. I also told him that he'd probably be in trouble if he actually had to pull the gun and then take time to rack the slide. I still think that it fell on deaf ears. Maybe I'll get through to him someday. I got through to my wife and when she carries, she carries a gun that's ready to go bang.
  9. That makes sense. I've always been used to 4lb triggers in my 1911s. She IS going to be carrying it cocked and locked isn't she???
  10. The only thing that the RIA tactical needs is a trigger job. I looked at that particular gun when Joe got it in. The trigger is clean and crisp, but a little heavy.
  11. Did you see the semi-auto Galil on the wall over there??? Looks nice.
  12. I was there for about an hour yesterday. Those tactical model RIAs are one heck of a deal.
  13. Heard anything from them lately??
  14. I've had Tru-Glo, Meprolite, and factory Sig-lite sights. The Truglos are brighter in sunlight and the transition to night sights is very smooth. There is no white ring around the tridium as with other sights, but the fiber optic which glows in the daytime. I really liked them. I had Meprolites on a Kimber that I owned. They were good sights, but the front tridium died out and I had to replace the front sight. They had a dot on the front sight and a bar going up the rear sight. All you had to do was dot the i. These were adjustable target sights and were pleasant to shoot, not carry. The factory Sig night sights are performing well during the daylight so far, but the suck at night. For some strange reason, the front is red and the rears are green. I can pick up the rear sight fast, but the front takes a second. These are coming off. I knew when I bought it that it had the red front and green rears, but thought maybe that the red was brighter than it is and that they might have subdued the green to make the front stand out. I was wrong. I'm getting the XS big dots for it when funds allow. In fact, I'm getting two sets. One for the M&P and another for the 226. I shot a Glock at Camden with the big dots the other weekend and was truly impressed with them.
  15. What Poll??? I own a Sig 226 blackwater, S&W M&P 9c, Stag AR, 2 stephens double barrel shotguns, a winchester shotgun, and an old rossi .22.
  16. About time Sam. I forgot all about your department going to the shorts. You know, the boots and shorts look HOTTTT.
  17. The lower on an AR is the "gun". It has the serial number on it and therfore classifies it as a firearm. Same thing with pistols. The frame is the "gun" while the slide, barrel, and other small parts are just parts. It all depends on where the serial number is located. I have a Stag AR and am totally satisfied with it. CMT (Stag's parent company) supplies lowers and parts for Smith & Wesson, Stag, and Rock River Arms. They put out a good quality lower. It might not be as good as some of the other high end lowers, but it is still a high quality part.
  18. Welcome Frank. I met you at Joe's shop a few months ago. Nice to see you on here.
  19. Mondays and Thursdays are out for me. Little League kinda thing. Probably head over there one evening, might need something from Lowe's.
  20. That seals it up for me. When I get a chance, I'm there with gun out in the open. I really hope that guy is there and does the same thing to me. We need to get a "Carry your gun to Hastings" day set up.
  21. Welcome, hope you enjoy.
  22. When I get into my new house that I'm building, I'm going to start on a 200 yard range in my back yard. I'll be able to train whenever I want with pistols and long guns. On the training issue, matman and I were talking about this at the class. He's only about 45 minutes away from me and we're going to start training on various things. I'm going to let him come up and shoot at my place because the ranges he frequents won't allow low light training. I'm going down there for other types of training to round out my skills.

    clipdraw "holster"

My wife's Kel-Tec p-32 has one on it and it's actually pretty handy on it. It has a pretty long and hefty trigger pull. She doesn't tuck it into her pocket but puts it on her waist, which I feel is safer.
