  7. +1 MILLION! Amazing Story of the Power of Strength, Prayer, and Faith!
  8. +1 ... this is what i was going to suggest
  9. its not so much about getting "tired" I feel I can easily shoot 1000-2000 rounds in a range session. I just start to notice accuracy go out the window at about 300 or so rounds .... invisible fatigue haha
  10. Temperpedic is what the wife and I wanted, but, after testing one, we didn't like it ... #1 reason = we move around alot while we sleep. everytime you roll over, or move, you are like trying to move "uphill" Literally, you sink in to the mattress, so when you move, I felt like it would wake me up. If I went with a new mattress this day in age, I would probably go with a sleep number bed. For now, we have a nice pillowtop
  11. o forgot ... what I failed to mention is that I had a TFCC tear about 2 years ago, and it took about 6-8 months to heal (this was in my right/shooting hand) I couldn't even so much as turn a door knob
  12. Keep the hangun locked up, and ammo separate. For Cali: Traveling with Firearms in California - Bureau of Firearms - California Dept. of Justice - Office of the Attorney General
  13. Hey Guys ... I try and make it to the range whenever I can. Picked up a .22 yesterday, to try and save some $$$ ... The problem being, I still want to shoot my .45 and 380 while there! haha, so much for saving $$$. Anyways ... How many rounds can you go through before you really start to notice a large difference in accuracy? For me, just going yesterday. Put all 3 of my firearms through the ringer (roughly 100 round per) and after 300 rounds felt great ... Every 50 rounds after that 300 mark started to get more and more inaccurate. Got to about 500 and figured it wasn't even worth it any more. Granted, stamina and arm strength have quite a bit to do with it, as does practice. Just wanted to see what some of you others are able to accurately shoot in a range session before accuracy starts to drop off?
  14. have direct tv and love it ... i subscribe to most of the channels, get MLB Extra Innings and NBA League Pass ... Expensive no doubt but I just love all the HD. They reinstalled everything for FREE at our new house about 3-4 months ago, without a hiccup. Had AT&T internet and line phones = not happy at all. Cancelled it a week or two ago, and plan to go with comcast cable internet.
  15. +1 ... although i have never carried a revolver. i do carry cocked & locked though with a hammer .... hmmm
  16. Why not take an HCP course? $60 bucks at Guns N Leather up in Greenbrier (about 20 minutes from us) They will go over the basics, from safety - to laws, then you can shoot with their firearms (you pay for your own ammo ofcourse) Not only will it go over quite a bit of info, an instructor will also be on hand the first time you shoot! Safe and Effective in my opinion. And if you enjoy it as much as most of us do, you just got your HCP Cert. Head to the DMV and get your actual Permit! I'm going up to the range on Friday afternoon/evening .... You are more than happy to come along if you'd like. I live in Hendersonville, but my office is in Goodlettsville. I can help go over the basics with you, and get you up to snuff on a few things. Hoping to have a .22 by that point (assuming I find what I am looking for) which would be great for you in learning due to the low recoil factor. Otherwise, I have my P238 and .45 Kimber
  17. you guys have brought up some great points! thanks! overpopulation being one of them .... trophy hunting vs hunting for food (trophy being an afterthought), etc.... I guess I just need to wrap my mind around the idea. i may just need to find a buddy that hunts and go out with him one day ....
  18. Pretty sure most of the kinks have been worked out. Make sure to use the slide stop on a new mag, and don't sling shot it = I think this is now the biggest issue for most people.
  19. I was having this discussion with my fiance a few nights ago ... wanted to hear the thoughts of others. I grew up in Los Angeles, where firearms in general are a big no, no for the most part. Never met a single hunter in Cali nor did I know more than 1, maybe 2 people with a firearm. Moved here about a year and a half ago, got my HCP about 2-3 weeks ago, and now EDC. One question I have been going over and over in my head is this: I have ZERO issues defending those I love. If a perpetrator or animal (of any type - dogs, predatory animals, etc...) were to threaten the safety of me or my family, I have zero issue's defending myself/them. What I have a problem comprehending, is killing an animal outside of a defensive situation. I am an animal lover (we have 6 "furbabies"). I eat EVERY type of meat, fish, etc.... Don't belong to PETA, and don't think its wrong to hunt. I just don't have the "heart" to hunt. Perhaps its my upbringing, or just my love for animals. When I see a buck/doe dead on the side of the road, I feel bad. I think to myself ... There is no way (unless it was a survival/defensive move) I could kill one! Anyone else in my shoes? Just can't kill an animal?
