  1. loved the Kimber I once had ... Yes it was used & an older model, but it never failed to go bank Lightest shooting .45 i have ever shot to boot!
  2. Nope, you are not confused. They are the exact same thing, just a different name.
  3. you lie .... you're at "2" now Threads are BOLD when someone new posts in them & are unread by YOU.
  4. I had a .45 Kimber UC ... Went bang each & every time .... Replacement parts are a bit expensive (I had to get UC recoil spring assembly) from kimber and it was $45 + shipping .... full size or carry models should likely have interchangeable parts with other 1911's. I really liked my kimber during the time I owned it
  5. He seems to have very reasonable rates Side .... I just PMed him for a quote, was happy with it, and dropped it off. He's located in Springfield.
  6. wifey took class with me back in September. Was waiting on her birth cert from her madre back in cali. Fingerprinted/DMV work done yesterday. It took me I think 10 days to get mine .... We'll see how long it takes to get hers.
  7. i moved out of Commifornia and saw the light
  8. I can shoot that well at 2 yards too Touche!

    Pistol Conundrum

I'd vote for a 3" 1911, but you won't have an easy time finding one under $700-800 .... Not a fan of glocks, but as far as I'm concerned, what you get out of a glock for the $$$ can't be beat
  10. Just dropped off one of my firearms to GunTroll at Mid-TN Gunsmithing! Nice guy! I'm sure the work he'll do to mine will be amazing!
  11. If its just classroom/conference room = no Classroom & Rangetime = Yes Never shot a long gun and would love to learn
  12. Well .... Went to the range last night .... and she got to try a 638 (smaller handle than the 642 which they also had there) And the results: She liked it! It certainly kicked and made her hand red/hurt after about 50 rounds but she really liked it! She was pretty accurate out to about 15' ... She caught herself "assuming" and "accommodating" the kick, and corrected it. She was lights out accurate out to about 15-20 yards with the P238 ... She seems to do better in the SA world (much like I do - although last night alone and 200 rounds later, was doing pretty well with my DAO PM9) I may just get her another P238 or SA alternative, and find someone to custom build her grips .... ...sigh...the things we do for woman.
  13. hahaha .... feel free to give me that dissertation I really don't want to get it just for her not to like it.
  14. Hey Guys ... The question is: J-Frames for woman? .... Assuming we don't us .38+p ammo, and stick with standard loads, can an averaged sized woman easily handle it? The strongest kicking gun she has ever shot was my Kimber 3" .45 and she had zero issues with that. She didn't like the P238 we got for her, so we sold it - She felt she needed something a bit more "feminine". She's a girly girl, and I've told her numerous times no one should even know you are carrying in the first place, but she won't carry unless she's happy with what it looks like! I'm not a DAO fan, but I figure if I can atleast get the wife to "like" a gun, she'll carry it. And finding a gun she likes isn't easy ... Here's to hoping She has her eye on this:
  15. Actually, you click "Copy Image Location" ... NOT .... "Link Location" Haha, sound good! Let us know if you need help with anything else.

  17. Not a single bank I have been to (around me) has a GB sign. That is (2) BofA's, and (2) 5th/3rd's. Both Sets of doors are clear.

  19. In MY Humble Opinion .... I believe income tax (both state & federal) should be dropped. In its place, implement a CONSUMPTION tax .... Why punish people who want to save (thus in essence, making our banking system and structure stronger) Tax those that like to spend $$$. Healthy Banks = Healthy Economy for the most part. Do away with Income tax, and raise sales tax on everything (minus food, scrips, etc....) to 20-25% .... IRS and Many different tax agencies would no longer be needed, and tax could be governed at state level.

PM9 .... Whoops - .380 thread .... P238 - Love the SA - Sleak (just wish ammo was a bit cheaper and easier to find) P380 Both a Sig & Kahr Fan here
  21. Welcome ... And Yes, you can give your son a firearm assuming you both reside in the same state (ie: TN) I would still draft a BOS (found in the classified section) with all your son's info including Driver's License #. This is also assuming your son can legally own a firearm in TN.
