what kind of 1 ounce bars are you looking for Murphy?
-
I wouldn't buy PM (Precious Metals) in TN unless its from an individual. LCS (Local Coin Stores) will charge you sales tax, as will pawn shops. -- That's an almost 10% premium on everything outside of the standard premium. Some reputable online dealers (with pretty good selection) NucleoExhange (BullionDirect.com) Provident Metals GainesvilleCoins Tulving (if you can meet their minimum's)

Hmmm... I've owned the following: (3) P238's. (2) P380's - Originally one, then replaced with a brand new one. (1) LCP P380 gave me the most problems. P238's were finicky but worked. LCP hasn't let me down yet. Wish I had gone with the cheaper one first (ie: LCP) -- When my Boberg's arrive, .380 will no longer be mentioned in my house I encourage you to google boberg arms !!!

PRP goodies for my XDm hoping for a trigger kit & stainless steel pins!!! -
So, I was looking over US Firearms Sales, and happened upon this link: U.S. Firearms Industry Today | Shooting Industry Magazine Within the article is this graph (See Below) Both in 1993/1994 and in 2008/2009, firearm sales exploded. Coincidence? Don't think so .... '93 - Clinton was elected ... '08 - Obama was elected. Seems most people are scared their rights are about to be restricted/abolished when a Democrat takes the White House. Wish I could find a graph for ammo sales/production numbers as well, that'd be interesting I know there was a shortage a few years back (08ish) but I'd still love to see #'s! Anyways, just thought I'd share! Feel free to discuss

P938 ... very interesting P290 sales must have been less than stellar.
-
Go shoot it! You can ship it back till Monday, so you might as well get some use out of it The P380 is a sweet gun ... I just wish kahr fixed all the issues before releasing them for sale to the public

really? what trigger pull's (firearms) are you accustomed too? when I compare my old kahr's to any wheel gun sort of DAO, I'd take the kahr hands down each and every time. Now, if I were to compare the kahr trigger pull (length wise) to an XD, I'd go with the XD. I'm not a fan of long trigger pulls, but I admit, Kahr's is the "best" in my opinion. My LCP's trigger pull is super long, and the break it terrible, but it gets the job done

find me an article or example where an FMJ round passed through the intended target and hit something of "worthiness" -
call kahr ... tell them you want the frame replaced PERIOD. They'll do it... Then offload it. If you still are iffy whether or not she's in good shape - trade her in at a LGS and pick yourself up an LCP. I've had (2) "iffy" guns that I just didn't feel safe handing over to another user. Therefore, I ended up trading them in. (1) of those happened to be my P380 -- Althought after I got her back I had no issues, I still couldn't sell to another member. I'd rather trade "iffy" guns in to dealers that have smiths' that can take care of Make's me sleep better at night!

yup ... exact same. Kahr's have my favorite DOA trigger pulls -- Sexy Smooth IMO. The only thing I didn't like about my MK9 was the heftiness. Never a hiccup with mine, and she was a stunner. If I ever start collecting firearms, I'd likely pick up another MK9 .... I miss her every once in a while

My feelings on gun safety are just that ... I'm always aware of where my carry gun is, and other firearms around the house. When our little one comes along in 6 months, I will take these precautions to an even more exclusive level. I'm pretty confident in my gun handeling skills. I clean, tear down my firearms all the time, and take extra care to make sure ammo isn't around, and firearms are fully empty before being worked on etc... Perhaps I feel just an added sense of comfort. Now, my comfort level isn't "complacency" per say, as I have 100% the same thinking whether it was a JHP or FMJ round, and carry myself accordingly, I just happen to feel better prepared. Using a firearm correctly has nothing to do with the type of ammo loaded. Gun safety is gun safety ... Ammo used, is ones own personal choice. Minimizing Risk = Wearing a seat belt, and in my opinion, keeping an FMJ round in the chamber. Oh, I did ... I didn't think the thread would turn in to such a negative fashion though haha I have to remember, many firearm owners have diehard opinions -- I see it on many of the forums I visit ... I should probably learn not to take things personal, and remember that everyone is entitled to his/her opinions -

If an accident was "intentional" it wouldn't be an accident. For those that don't understand the correct definition of accident, lets take a look at dictionary.com Many times you can't stop an accident from happening (in a negligent discharge case, you can for the most part), but I come back to my same rational of thinking. I'd rather be prepared for an accident, than not prepared. Everyday Life Example: Wearing a seat belt while driving. While you don't think you'll have an accident while driving, ACCIDENTS happen. So, will you not wear a seatbelt simply because you don't want to? Sure, there are plenty of people that don't. I don't on short trips, but preparing or being prepared for something unseen is part of helping control the outcome in your favor as opposed to something worse. Firearm Example: There are plenty of people that won't carry cocked & locked, or even keep one in the chamber. I have seen TON's of these types of people come & go on TGO. While I do not agree with this stance and feel its more of a liability since they will need to take the time to rack it, that's their own prerogative. Telling them they shouldn't carry period is a bit over the top, because as an adult & permit holder, they are free to decide if/when they carry, and how they do so. I carry an single FMJ round in the chamber, backed by JHP rounds. Not because I plan to be negligent, or feel my booger finger doesn't have enough training to keep my finger outside of the trigger guard. But because, I feel more confident with it there & feel it would do a better job of protecting myself & family. You may entirely disagree, and thankfully, we live in a free nation and your are 100% entitled to your thoughts & opinions, I just felt you were taking it a bit far saying that because I prepare for an unfortunate accident (IE: Wearing a seatbelt) -- I shouldn't own firearms. If that same reason carried over to other parts of my life, I shouldn't own a car either. -

Man ... I sure know how to start interesting threads LOL Certainly does sound like this is a matter close to the heart for most folks, but, ammo choice can be You're right, I shouldn't own firearms, nor protect my family, due to the fact I have decided to carry an FMJ round in the chamber .... Christ, it goes from an ammo discussion, to someone saying I shouldn't carry or even OWN firearms BECAUSE of my ammo choice (that's essentially putting me in the same boat as a convicted felon). Take off your tin foil hat Reef .... -

Accidental Discharges do happen, even to very experienced shooters. Yes, its a matter of keeping your "booger hook off the bank switch" but other things can cause discharges. Leather holsters can as well ... SAFETY WARNING! Worn Leather Holsters Can Cause Accidental Discharges! I'm not here to debate whether accidental discharges happen or not, simply asking a question and to hear peoples thoughts, that's all So Far -- Doesn't look like anyone seems to agree with me -- which is fine -- What can I say, I have some crazy idea's when I sit home, drink, and play COD haha -
So, I've got to thinking over the past week or so about my carry gun & ammo. After watching *several* video's on "accidental discharges" it got me thinking. 1) A JHP through the leg would tear is pretty good, while a FMJ round would likely pierce and exit without too much damage (assuming you don't hit an artery) I understand, the best way not to have an accidental discharge is trigger finger discipline, but again, accidents do happen. 2) An FMJ round seems like it would penetrate obstacles better (Car Glass, Window, Door, etc...) Would it be safer & smarter to carry an FMJ round chambered, followed up by JHP self defense rounds in a mag? This would A) Be safer in the case of an accidental discharge Self Defense incase an obstacle lay in the way. Perhaps this has been discussed, but it's been on my mind! Appreciate any and all comments!

Its only been a week 380 ... gotta give them a chance to fix and turn it around. When I got mine back, I had a piece of paper explaining everything they did to it. When I got the new frame, they even stated they had put it through the 200 round break in for me already.

I'd Say ... A large dog is probably a better deterrent than any paid alarm system when it comes to burglars.
