  1. GREAT illustration EB-SF, and something I hadn't really thought about!  Thanks for sharing!   I would have loved to study Criminology :)
  2.   Thanks for your thoughts TMF!   I disagree with this though ... I don't think FFL transfer fee's would go up.  I use D&T every time I have a gun transferred in, and its $25 out the door.  Is $25 too much to check out a potential gun/buyer?  I think its a small price to pay for peace of mind :)
  3.   Couldn't agree more!  It passed in the NY senate 45-18 or something along those lines.   Political Suicide in my opinion.  He cares nothing about stopping gun violence, and cares only about lining his pockets for political donations to make a run for 2016.
  4. I'd also like to add - Votes are Private, not public :)  Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say!  Thanks for participating!
  5. I'd like to start a poll to see how many of us would be "OK" with closing the gunshow loophole & private sales.  Instead of person-to-person without paperwork, a meetup would have to be setup at a local gun store to run a check on the firearm and the person.   I see and understand both sides to this debate, and I've seen several references that up to 75% of NRA members are open to closing the said loophole.   [As I See It] Pro's of Closing Gunshow Loophole/Private Sales: 1)  Gun check to make sure it hasn't been stolen or wanted in relation to a crime. 2)  Buyer check, to make sure they are legally able to purchase & own a firearm. 3)  Less opportunity for convicted felons and criminals getting firearms abusing the loophole/private sale.  I'd hate to see one of my firearms previously owned, used in a crime.   Con's of Closing Gunshow Loophole/Private Sales: 1)  Cost would go up.  $10 for TICS, and whatever the shop may charge for the transfer ($10 - $25) 2)  Possible infringement on a law abiding citizens right to bear arms. 3)  This is just the start of a "slippery slope" leading to more and more regulations & "gun control"   To be honest and for full disclosure - I'm open to closing the loophole and moving to have private sales done through an FFL.  I like the protection it guarantee's on purchase, and the fact that less people will flip guns left & right (like what we are currently seeing in these gun grab times).  I also like the fact that it will allow more consumers to get in to mom & pop gun shops putting more $$$ in to local economies {my small business mind at work}   I understand and know many will not agree with my outlook, but that's the beauty of America, and a great forum like this.  To discuss & try to learn/better understand the opposition :)   So, without further adieu ... The Poll!  Would love to hear your comments as to why you picked your certain viewpoint!
  6.   If you go back tomorrow, might picking me up a few ?!?!?!? :x:
  7. I don't see an actual file to download?
  8. That's the 2nd piece I've seen on this guys "Reality Check's"   We need him on one of the mainstream new outlets .... No nonsense bullsh*t laying out straight truth & fact.   This guy and this post get a  from me!
  9. A savage in 308 is in my short list once the gun grab slows down a bit.  Seems the gun grab has even raised prices on bolt action rifles ....   From my reading, the Accutrigger is actually pretty darn good for a stock trigger :)   Good luck with whatever you decide, and when you get one, don't forget to post pics!
  10. Thanks Spots!  Must have missed it!
  11. Been having issues logging on to TGO via Tapatalk for the past week or so.   Just wanted to make note of it in the Feedback & Support forum :)   Any plans to overhaul and fix the issue?   Thanks!
  12. Well,   Like many of you, I placed backorders with Midway and Brownells several weeks ago.  I woke up this morning with this letter in my inbox.  It seems they know more than we do at this point.       It looks like my PMAG backorder is being filled, but I still have another 4 or 5 orders with them for other mags that are still sitting.   A bit more further research, and they are no longer allowing the order of any magazines larger than 10 rounds.   I've never seen this happen at Midway and I've been a customer for several years.   Status On These Mags is, "Out of Stock, No Backorder" http://www.midwayusa.com/product/238525/ruger-bx-25-magazine-ruger-10-22-22-long-rifle-25-round-polymer-black   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/593377/smith-and-wesson-magazine-s-and-w-m-and-p-15-22-22-long-rifle-25-round-polymer-black   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/180134/magpul-pmag-m2-moe-magazine-ar-15-223-remington-30-round-black   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/448281/magpul-pmag-m3-magazine-ar-15-223-remington-30-round-black   Hope you guys got your orders in, and hoping everyone receives what they ordered!!!!
  13. As Lagerhead as already mentioned, I don't think you can get a bet trigger than the PRP (Powder River Precision) trigger.  If this will be a true comp gun, I'd probably send it in and get the ultimate match trigger installed instead of just the drop in.  Although the drop in is what I had and loved in my XDm45c.    I'd love to install a trigger kit in my wife's XDm9c, but she won't allow me.  She likes it just the way it is :)   As for holsters that allow for extra mags or with a burris reflex site -- Not sure.    Good luck, and whatever info you find, I wouldn't mind seeing it, so post it here!
  14. Thanks everyone!   Keep the suggestions & reviews coming!   Great site Caster!
  15. Hey Guys,   My wife returned a few things to zappos so now we have a credit on file that's been sitting for like a year.  I buy shoes about once every 5 years, but figured, I should get a good set of combat boots.  Boots I can go hiking in, or do just about anything "Tacticooool" in :woohoo:   Anyways .... I started my research, and it looks like many of our armed forces over seas run Danner boots.  Wanted to see what you guys thought of them or what your favorite sort of boots are?   Outside of Danner, I've been wondering about these Bates boots:  http://zappos.com/bates-footwear-delta-8-desert-tan#prdInfo   Zappos doesn't sell Danner, but they do sell the Bates.  $150 is a pretty penny for boots, but some of the Danner ones run $300+ ...   So, with that said.  What sort of boots do you like & run ?
  16. MacGyver ...   I think you and I think along the same lines, I just happen to look at Credit a bit differently.   I don't look at Credit Ratings, as Credit Per say .... I look at good Credit as a smart business tool.   Examples: 1)  Business Office Leasing .... You aren't taking on debt or credit, your simply using your Personal Guarantee (Credit Rating) as a sign of financial health. 2)  Merchant Account ... Again, you aren't taking on debt or credit, your using yourself as the personal guarantor of that account.   The sad part of most startups -- whether you take on debt or not -- is you, as the owner, have to be the "Personal Guarantor" of so many things.  This is where good credit is a MUST in my opinion.   My company has zero debt, and I did not take out any sort of SBL to start it.  I used money the wife & I had saved away to start the business.    DEBT is evil.  Credit is not :)  Credit could be used for GOOD or for EVIL purposes :)  If you're smart, credit can be used to your advantage :)
  17.   This is probably where I disagree with Dave Ramsey the most.   While I fully understand why Dave Ramsey might say this, I don't agree with it entirely.   I'm a small business owner -- My credit has helped me succeed in business.  I have lines of credit totaling 6 figures & more, however, I carry no balance, and use them sparingly.  Just because the lines of credit are there, don't mean you have to use them.  It comes down to self control .... Unfortunately - 90% of American's don't have it.   Credit even helps with the small things ... Small or no deposits on 1)  TV 2)  Internet 3)  Cell Phones 4)  Water/Gas/etc...   For most American's, Dave Ramsey's teachings work and will keep you out of debt.  I simply disagree with certain things ... that's all :)
  18.   DON'T DO THIS ...   Keep those lines of credit open, and use them a couple of times every year, paying off the balances the next month.  Aging these accounts is a GOOD thing when it comes to your credit profile.  The older the accounts, the better.   You may not need credit now, but you may need it in the future, you just never know :)
  19. Hey Guys,   Grabagun.com has tapco AR mags in stock.  Pack of (5) for $100   http://grabagun.com/tapco-mag0930-magazine-ar-5-56-30rd-gen-ii-black-5-pack.html   Just passing along the deal for those in need of AR mags!
  20. we're like a bunch of lemmings .... LOLOL
  21. Breathtaking ...   My wife is a Photographer -- Gonna pass this along!  She'll get a kick out of it!
  22. Not even a Glock fan but registered anyways :)  what the heck, just another forum to belong to! LOL
  23.   It does suck, plus you go through quite a bit of tooling, but it wouldn't cost $95k to do it ...   I think there's a difference between a machine shop, and a huge gun manufacturer.  They likely have 100+ Mori's set up running non stop parts.    If you take a look at a small(er) gun manufacturer like Wilson Combat, they end up having to charge a premium.  Smaller, but quite a bit easier to keep an eye on QC.
