"WTF is this ****?" A gun. "Did you stipple the trigger, too?!?!" Heck yeah! I enjoy youngsters who know so little about shooting and firearms:)

I traded this for a Ruger LC9 a few months ago, a trade I will always regret. I had done this one up just like one I had already sold him. This guy wanted two. Today he asked if I would buy it back so he could get some Sig 239 or something like that. He said he never shot it and I believe him. So now one of my special "baby Glocks" is back home for good. Karma is a good thing for "the glock guy" sometimes.

I go to this joint that will get me anything that they can't or don't normally order for 10% above their cost plus tax and background. If I have to ship it is $15.00 plus the actual cost of shipping. If it is something "weird" that they don't normally handle through one of their distributors they will do a transfer for 15.00 admin charge and the 10.00 background check. Plus I get a 10% discount on everything in the store with my retired military ID card. Why go anywhere else?

There are probably more sources but this little adapter works, I've done it. I don't know if it will hold up but it seems it would. Why did I do it. I like to be able to change recoil spring weight. You might want to peruse the Blue Book of gun values on the value of the Speed Six. On the surface the Speed Six you are interested seems a tad high, regional variations in price notwithstanding. Speed Six is a good though, and I have had them, Security Six and other .357 in that size range. Speer makes some short barrel ammo for snubbies, maybe there are other makers now. Using typical .357 or even +P .38 will create a nice fireball at dusk coming out of the barrel. INMHO 115grain Corbon +P out of your XD makes the XD a more potent and efficient self defense handgun, realizing increased capacity. On the other hand a Speed Six is a neat handgun that you can slick up the action yourself due to Rugers nice DA revolver design.

I contacted LWD a few weeks back. It appears that their lower will only be available as a backorder item for some time demand is so high. In typical internet fashion their seems to be no general consensus on which 9mm ARs are ultimately reliable/durable/accurate. If cost denoted qaulity they would seem to be all top drawer, but that does not appear to be the case. There is enough negativity online to make one pause and say, "Do I want to be local Beta Tester again?" For 800.00+ for a complete 9mm AR I'm thinking no.

If you want a real target pistol the S&W 41 is about the bottom of the price barrel. If you want a gun that is almost as good as a real .22 target pistol then you can do that with a Ruger MK II or III with a trigger job. If you want a "real" .22LR target pistol then you will need to look at Benelli, Pardini and Hammerli. This is a good place to look: Pistols - Larry's Guns Inc.

Phoenix Arms HP22 or get a used Ruger MKI, II or III. The used Ruger would be better. I've had both in multiple copies and many others.

S&W 422/622 or maybe a S&W 2206, Smith & Wesson 422 Series : EWK Arms buy the extra firing pins. Craig in Clarksville 622 422 1x6" 622, 2x6" 422, 1x4" 422 w & w/o taking the barrel washer off:

Daniel, Thanks. I will probably look at a 9mm AR that uses a mag block. Craig

Thanks for the input. I have quite a few 9mm Glock mags and was thinking the carbine would give me more practical accuracy at distance at a cheaper price than getting a very expensive 9mm range/competition/service size 9mm.

Yeah, these are advantage arms. I have had 3 or 4 AA kits for Glocks before but friends always talked me out of them. These are staying. I would have liked to try out the Tactical Solutions kits as they weigh more, but these presented themselves. In the past, as I have not been able to get to the range for several weeks, the AA kits worked great with CCI Mini Mag. I plan on using CCI Minu Mag, trying out some the CCI AR .22LR ammo and some of the hotter Aguilla. If there was a significant failure rate before I don't recall it being bothersome. In fact if I have a gun that won't run reliably I generally try figure out why and fix it. My past experiences with AA kits is to clean them well, fluff and buff contact points, run with comparatively thin migrating lube and clean rather often. .22LR is "dirty."

Great news about EXO. I wanted one bad, for about a week, then got over it. However, I love slick coatings on action parts and think the EXO is a good thing even if it may be "gilding the lily" on a Tenifer finish. I would hardchrome all my guns if I could afford it. As to Gen 4s.... I have owned a couple of dozen Glocks, including Gen 4's. Some knucklehead even sponsored me to recently go to Glock Armorers school. Long story short... I am not an advocate of dual recoil springs in the Gen 4 19 or 17, but I get why Glock did it. I find it odd that they initially oversprung the 9s, basically using the .40 Gen 4 springs. However, production after Jul 22 (I think it was July or was it Jun?) has made sure the 9 Gen 4s have springs that will accomodate most 9mm ammo. I converted my Gen 4 to a single "Gen 3" spring with the many aftermarket adapters available that reduces the slide nose recoil spring hole. yeah, one more part, but not much of a change. So, if you get a new Gen 4, build date after July 22, the dual recoil spring will likely be the correct one for "weak" 9mm ammo. I change up my springs so keep uncaptured steel and plastic guide rods around for my G19s and 17s. Most of the normal Glock aftermarket part outlets have the Gen 4 to Gen 3 spring adapters but this is an outfit I am trying out a couple of things: Brass Stacker

The gun shop I haunt occasionally gets them in. I just kept my name on a list. I think they currently have one for a commander sized 1911 and another for 20/21 Glocks. The owner told me that when his distributors tell him they have one he tells them send it his way. Patience can be a virtue, plus the owner knows I am a Glock "nut."

Does anyone have first hand experience with an Olympic Arms 9mm AR that uses Glock magazines? If so was the carbine reliable, relatively accurate and durable? Craig in Clarksville

Although I have gone the AA route before with Glock .22LR conversions I am determined to make this work better this time. I installed Seattle Brass Slugs in both frames to bring the weight up and may end up using adhesive lead tape used in weighting tennis racquets to get the overall weigh closer to 9mm Glocks. These will be dedicated .22LR Glocks as I have other 19s and 17s in 9mm. With the brass slugs the 19 weighs a bit over 17oz unloaded and the 17 .22LR weighs about 21oz. Future range reports may follow. Craig in Clarksville [/img]

I was thinking fuzzy dice and baby moons. But I think I can get an ACOG on it......I have a friend who has one.

So far there are 20+ aftermarket companies/pieces in this 17L. Bayonet is Ka-Bar, triple beam laser by Beamshot, 230 lumen light by Fenix. The bipod is extendable and folds forward. Why? Because...

I would like to try out the new polymer framed Poly PT 22s, but have too older metal ones that I plan on running some ammo experiments with this weekend.

Nope, but one of the plastic ones has a permanent arch in it.
