I can see such a law as it applies to videoing private individuals, but public officials ought to be fair game.

I've never seen a toilet with a recoil spring.

I had normal break in issues, mainly a few FTE, but after about 400 rounds, zero problems. Of course, I've never had any problems with the 250 described earlier as junk, either.

Sumner County Deputy fired and arrested
MikePapa1 replied to gregintenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As I said, I KNOW him. You know of a single incident in his life and simply write him off. From my experience with him, this is out of character. It certainly is wrong and he must face the consequences. but I'm certainly not going to have you tell me you know about him. You are, of course, free to believe whatever you'd like but that doesn't mean you know what you are talking about. Chris was a good kid who made a bad mistake. I'm sure all of us have something that we've done that we would not want to be used as the sole basis of judging the rest of their life. -

I am very saddened by this. I know Chris and he was a good kid. -
As with the other thread I just started, this story caught my eye: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/wrist_slap_for_hotel_gun_nut_Urj9w04FuzZlZRWVjEpBNP?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Manhattan Another, equally inane, view: http://gothamist.com/2012/07/11/another_light_sentence_for_someone.php

http://www.toledoblade.com/Editorials/2012/07/10/Hidden-guns.html How many people in Lucas County have a permit to carry a concealed weapon? Don't ask the Sheriff's Department; it doesn't know. That's a problem. County deputies recently encountered a man who was carrying a concealed weapon under his shirt as he was jogging. He had a concealed-carry permit. But while he was a county resident, his permit was from Florida. Read more Blade editorials It's all legal. Ohio has reciprocity agreements with 23 other states that allow permit holders from those states to carry their concealed weapons in Ohio. A few of those states, including Florida and Utah, issue permits to nonresidents. ...... Interesting issue. I've not seen this as an issue brought up.

Cardsharp 2 packs a razor in a credit card package
MikePapa1 replied to MikePapa1's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Mine came in the mail today. It was as advertized and is folded and in my wallet. It's not really a defensive weapon. It would be WAY too hard to access in a self defense emergency situation, but I think it will make a great utility knife which is why I bought it. -
BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!! Have you no shame?

I'm not a Glock Hater but I sold all of my Glocks. They don't feel right in my hand and I was less accurate with them than I was with the Sig. I've got nothing against them, they just didn't feel "right" to me. Frankly, I have far more trouble understanding this weird Glock worship. Like these guys who are trying to convince everyone that the Glock is the end all and be all of pistols.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/opinion/fl-doctors-guns-julian-ruling-0704-20120705,0,5205935.story I don't necessarily disagree with this opinion. It's equally my right to refuse to see a doctor who asks such questions. I noticed the 1 in 25 statistic used again without the noting on how many of those are accidental as opposed to intentional. Also, I'd be surprised if many of the doctors ask to offer "gun safety" advice. My doctor and I regularly discuss guns but only because I carry when I go in and he's curious about what I'm carrying now.

My father passed on December 31, 1999. He was a Marine his whole life. It helped define him. He served in the 3rd Marine Division on Guam. His oldest brother was with the 6th Division on Okinawa and his older brother 5th Division on Iwo. All three survived. All were very proud of their service.

I, too, have been reading the opinion and concur with Chip's assessment. To me this is a very strange ruling. In essence, it says the federal government can tax us, as individuals in any way it chooses. For example, if Congress decided every adult, for the general welfare, needed, for example a firearm and that anyone who refused to purchase said firearm was subject to a tax, it could do so under the reasoning of today's decision. This has to be seen as one of the most outrageous erosions of individual liberty in the history of the republic. There is nothing the government cannot now force us to do through the taxation power. This is no longer any limit on federal power over us as individuals. Truly a sad day.

I'm not ready to buy nor even t place a want to buy ad. I would, however, be interested in meeting someone in the Middle Tennessee area, at a range, who'd be willing to let me shoot theirs so that I could see if I want one. I know this is weird, but I've never shot one and would love to have some hands on time to see whether I want to plop down the money for one. Thanks in advance.

REVIEW: Joab Horizontal Magazine Pouch by Dale Fricke
MikePapa1 replied to pattywak's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've carried this one for years: http://www.safariland.com/DutyGear/product.aspx?pid=123 For both concealment and comfort I'd have to say horizontal is the way to go. -
MAN WITH GUN CHASES OFF ATTACKING BEAR IN NATIONAL FOREST...
MikePapa1 replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Evil gun owner attacking poor innocent wildlife. If the Founders had known this would happen they'd never included the 2nd Amendment. -
Yesterday I took my new P938 Extreme out to the range for the first time. I picked it up on Friday, field stripped, cleaned and gave it fresh lub and placed it in my High Noon tuckable IWB Hidden Alley and wore it around a bit to find the most comfortable position. I normally carry at about 4 o'clock and this worked well even when in the most casual of positions. Out at the range, after reading reviews of FTEs and other issues, I mainly shot for reliability rather than accuracy. As with my other 9s, at the range I normally shoot White Box, the 115 gn. I alternated between the regular and the extended magazine. The only problem I had was in initially bring the round into battery, with the extended magazine, it failed to fully go into battery and required a positive push. I attributed this to the magazine spring which is extremely stiff and noticed that it caused the initial round to try to load slightly to the right. I think that as the spring gets worked in the problem should disappear. Frankly, as it is only on the initial round if the weapon is carry as designed, in Condition 1, this shouldn't be an issue. I shot about 50 rounds of the White Box with no issues other than a single failure to eject. I dropped the magazine, cleared, reinserted the magazine and cycled with no further issues. I then shot about 20 rounds of Lawman FMJ with no issues. I then fired 20 rounds of Federal 9bple in +p+ with no issues. After shooting I again field stripped the pistol and found it remarkably clean. I saved cleaning until I got home. Let's see, overall it performed very well. As I said I wasn't shooting for accuracy but was shooting 8 in Bianchi plates at 25 meters and hit about as many as I do when I shoot for accuracy so without a specific accuracy exercise I'm confident in hitting a man sized target center mass out to 25 meters which is all one can really expect from a subcompact like the 938. I really didn't notice any excessive muzzle flash from any of the rounds and the recoil was what I expected and was frankly, less than some of the smaller poly guns I've shot. As to the downside, I sold my PPK because it kept taking chucks out of the web of my hand. I had a similar such incident with the standard, as opposed to the extended magazine because I was trying to over grip the pistol. After the first time, I saw why it happened, compensated and it didn't happen again. Also I've become so unaccustomed to physical labor and I'm sorry to say my hands are softer than I might like in the manly area. The Extreme has very aggressive checkering on the back strap starting about the middle down to the magazine well. I didn't notice it at the time but I noticed a small blister in the middle of my palm where the aggressive checking begins. This will be remedied by toughening up through more range time or real work. I'm very happy I picked the 938 and am now confident in its ability as a carry gun. It's light weight (I'm used to a 220) and small size makes it an ideal pistol for concealed carry. Further it will fit the myriad of holsters of every style created for the 238. With the ability to shoot 9mm self defense rounds it inspires more confidence than the 238 and is perfect as a back up for a 1911 or other SAO .45 or full size 9.
