  1. Nor am I in the Glock koolaid line. I've owned Glocks, sure, but I don't own any now. My Glocks were first and second generation. I though, fell in love with a more elegant and refined creature, the Sig P226. I was practicing law in a donut county to Indy when our sheriff's department adopted the 226 as their service pistol. I immediately fell in love. I was carrying a S&W 569 at the time, a good quality pistol but nothing like the Sig. So I went to the SD's vendor and bought my own. I've carried it ever since. It shoots far better than I ever could, first time, everytime no matter what you run through it. It remains my first true love and remains by my side almost evey day. If push came to shove and I could only have one pistol, my 226 would be it. It is definitely my "go to" gun.
  2. .22 mag or .380 would be great at that price range.
  3. Mine's fairly easy, as well. I'm the Provost Marshal General of the Tennessee State Guard and my radio call sign was set up as MikePapa1 but is generally just shortened to Papa1 in regular use.
  4. I'll order as soon as I get my new card to attach to Paypal. Apparently earlier today someone used my card number to order a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff and the bank put a hold on it and now are sending out a new card. I'll get there.
  5. 3:30 or 4:00 in a SuperTuck, SkyOps or High Noon depending on the pistol du jour.
  6. That's really the only fully legal way. If it is really a gift or sale to be taken over state lines, then it must be transferred through an FFL. Now the last time my son visited, I loaned him one of my .30 Carbines, but I'll get that back at some point.
  7. I, too, carry full size most of the time, the Sig 226. I have carried it for years. If it suits you and is comfortable, I wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks.
  8. Yes, I am right handed.
  9. I know this will seem like a stupid question, but here goes: I spend some time on the range Saturday (G&L, Hendersonville) and was relieving some pent up stress with a wide variety of my handguns. I've never encountered this problem before but I noticed with each weapon ranging from .380 Sig 238 through the XD45 I was shooting good patterns but was consistently shooting down to the left (8 o'clock) from the aim point at about 15 yards. This hasn't happened to me before and since it was consistent through calibers and guns, it can't be a sight issue or response to recoil, it has to be a problem with me squeezing the trigger. Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
  10. Depending on the facts, they could be. Worthless check over $500 is an E Felony.
  11. Actually, yes there are. Far too many. For example, I had a client last year who was at work when his live-in spanked his daughter hard enough to leave marks. She left for visitation with her mother before he came home. His mother told him that the child had been spanked too hard when he got hone late that night. He tried to call his ex but got no answer so he emailed her to check on his daughter. The child's mother, rather than answer him that night called the police. In the morning she sent him pictures showing the marks. He called DCS to report but as the police had already been informed, the live-in was arrested for felony child abuse and my client was charged with C Felony Aggravated Assault for his failure to immediately report. I was a ble to convince the DA to do a pretrial diversion for the A Misdemeanor Failure to Report Child Abuse but only after he made a $10,000 bond and paid my exorbitant fee. It is far too easy today to be charged with a crime, even a felony.
  12. I just saw the CNBC hour long "expose'" on the Remington 700. I sold my 700 in 30-06 a few years ago when I quit hunting deer. I never had a problem with unintentional discharges and was curious about the experience of others.
  13. One of the problems today, is that with the vast expansion of government and an increasing criminalization of formerly perfectly legal activity, it is virtually impossible for a citizen to know what conduct is, in fact, a felony.

    IMI baby eagle

I have the Jericho 941 in .40 and really like it. True, there aren't many holsters but Zahal in Israel sells them and ships here. I have their SkyOps clone and really like it.
  15. It doesn't as far as I can see but rather focuses on muzzle velocity. I was interested in the MV measured from my particular pistol, the Sig P238.
  16. BBTI - 380 Auto New tests of popular defense ammunition.
  17. Not unless there's a contract that allows it.
  18. I use my iPhone now, but before I used a Sandisk and loved it.

    Pawn shop guns

I've bought as many guns used at pawn shops as I have new. As long as you have an idea of the value of the gun and can see that it functions well and are willing to haggle (Remember the Pawn broker normally only has about 25% of the guns value actually invested.) you should be fine. Though I must admit I get many of my guns from clients who are cash poor but have available assets.

    Sig P250

Well, I'm not sure I'm a Sig purist, but I love my 226 that I've had since 1990. That being said, I bought a 250 2Sum, with a subcompact frame and slide and a full size frame/slide sharing the same trigger module. I've run 500 rounds or so through each of the 250 incarnations and like it. I bought it on my son's recommendation as he, too is a Sig enthusiast. I've had no problems at all with the 250, a great shooter and very reliable, but it will never be my favorite as it is DAO. I love Sig's DA/SA as represented in the 226. I will say that I carry the 250 sub when clothing makes concealing the 226 difficult. I would not hesitate to recommend it, it will just never replace my first love, the 226.
  21. OK, OH, you caught me. I misread Section C. I came to TGO as a diversion today trying to finalize my arguments for trial tomorrow. I guess I need to focus only on one thing at a time.
  22. The curio defense does not apply to a switchblade. As I read the statute it is illegal for anyone not LEO, EMS or military to possess a switchblade. My guess is that in 99% of cases it will never be an issue unless you are caught carrying it, but as I read it, it is still illegal. I find that hypothetically troubling because I know an individual who has such a knife that belonged to his great grandfather that he keeps as a keepsake in a drawer. Hmmmmm, I need to remind him that it technically violates the statute for him to possess it.
  23. OK, my wife is constantly commenting on my cultural illiteracy, but what's all this stuff with Zombies all about lately? A friend dressed up for Halloween as a "Zombie Hunter" with all the regalia but what's this all about for us old farts?
