  1. Hmmmm. Twice in one day Jamie's been correct. It may be the start of a trend.
  2. I like all three proposals.
  3. WElcome back. Thank you for your service. I know y is appreciated.ou don't hear it enough, but your service and sacrifice
  4. I have a Winchester Model 1886 in 45-70 I got for my wife when she decided she needed to hunt boar. I've hit 12 inch plates with it at 250 yards with the iron sights. Last time I had it at range, I shot 20 rounds and my shoulder was bruised for two weeks. A great cartridge but I need to put a recoil pad on that rifle. I'm too old for such abuse.
  5. I have been, from time to time an avid supporter of America's pass time.
  6. I had a client recently who carried a baseball bat in his vehicle because he delivered newspapers and had a month before been bitten by a dog. He was stopped by an officer I know well and is, well, zealous in his desire to enforce every law to demonstrate his personal prowess, for a tail light being out. During the conversation, the officer asked why he had the baseball bat in the car. My client, much to his chagrin, answered the officer honestly, explaining the dog attack. He was promptly placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon for the purpose of going armed (TCA §39-17-1307). He bonded out and contacted me. We went to court and I was able to convince the judge to retire the charge. As we were leaving I advised my client that in the future, if he carried a baseball bat in his car, he should not tell the officer the truth but rather talk about having gone to a batting cage or something of the sort. The bottom line is never suggest that anything that even looks like a "club" is carried for self defense, because do so makes carrying it a crime.
  7. If it's goods and you are a bona fide purchaser in good faith, then no. Otherwise, after rescission, you'd only be liable for any waste that occurred while you had the property.

If you talk nice, I'll let you fondle my 238. After you do, I know you'll love it. I'm not big on safeties, either, but this one is very positive to engage and disengage and with it engaged I'm confident to carry it cocked and locked in my pocket.
  9. My condolences as well. I have a cat that spends most of her day on my desk "helpin" me. I don't know what I'd do without her.
  10. My carry gun is the Sig 220 I bought from Steelharp which replaced my 226. In the nightstand, however, is an ex-Bronker XD45 with a Sig light/strobe/ laser on the rail. No small children to be of any concern. There's also a Mossberg 12 gauge pump in the corner.
  11. From reading this thread, all I can say is there will always be work for my ilk.
  12. It happens ALL the time. By the time they get to court, they're often willing to commit perjury to defend them. A couple of weeks ago, in Sumner General Sessions, they took a "victim" into custody for False Reporting because she changed her story in Court. Isn't love grand?
  13. This is me, Randy from a couple years ago on my front porch. Yes, I'm a lawyer so I get called many things. Despite my girth, having read this thread I consider myself petite at 5'10" 200ish. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3MXJi5uGHwM/SMFQWUscutI/AAAAAAAAAJE/_tQeRfb-FQY/S768/0016.JPG
  14. Maybe Agg Assault but more likely, Reckless Endangerment. Both are felonies, the first a "C" and the second an "E."
  15. All I can say is: Idiots. All of this "security theater" and no real security.
  16. A Hendersonville cop with no street sense? That certainly doesn't narrow it down much.
  17. Mike, you obviously raised a good one. Congratulations to him.
  18. Always one in the chamber with a full magazine.
  19. I don't disagree, Chip, my problem is I've not drafted a will for someone with minor children in the last three years. But, yes, a trust is very much in order where minor children are involved.
  20. I'll second that but I laughed anyway.
  21. I have two of their shirts that I wear for casual wear and really like them. I bought them on clearance, I think from LA Police, for like $8 each so with shipping it was $18. A great buy, I'll buy on clearance more. I don't own any of their pants.
