If these are your qualifications, then the Sig P250 will meet your requirement quite nicely. I, personally, prefer DA/SA so if I were looking today for a plastic pistol I'd look at the Sig Pro 2022. I have two XDs, have had multiple Glocks and I think the 2022 is the best plastic pistol I've ever shot, hands down. Your results may differ.

Most of what passes for post 9-11 security is simply security theater. It has no real connection with keeping anyone safe. Courthouse security is generally good and effective and needed, particularly in civil cases. I'm glad it's there.

It did sound very good, it's nice knowing a star.

Ok, Mine's marked "CAL 223." With the serial number, 185-34xxx, I looked up the appropriate manual and it appears it will accept either 223 or 556, but in the abundance of caution I'll start with 223 and see how that works first.

As the title suggests, I know this is a stupid question, but I just got an email ad from Cheaper Than Dirt selling cheap Federal 5.56x45mm XM193 ammunition. I have never owned a rifle in the 556/223 realm until I bought SteelHarp's Mini14. I know the .223 and 5.56 are not exactly the same size. My question is will my Mini14 shoot this ammunition?

Great news, Mike. I'll try to be listening.

When I autocrossed in various British roadsters, I still have the 79 Spitfire, it was called gymkhana. I loved it, though.

Thanks for the tip. I went to Bud's website and bought one. It should be at Blue Line by next Wednesday and I'll pick it up on my way back from court. Great price, free shipping. This one's stainless, too. My old one wasn't.

I had a 59 back in the day and have a Marlin Camp 9 still. I bought a bunch of the magazines, even the extended magazines to use with the Camp 9. I loved the S&W and regret selling it but, at the time I was using +P+ carry ammunition and was afraid of excessive wear so I went to the Sig 226. I'd love to have any of the 59's incarnations back.

Guess who bought the PLR-16 used in the Hendersonville incident?
MikePapa1 replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
The definition of Handgun in the TCA does not match the definition used by the ATF. You might check TCA § 39-17-1319 for Tennessee's definition of handgun. A short barreled rifle is defined in the TCA at §39-17-1301. Let me just say that I can see why the charges were brought even though I disagree with them. These "military style pistols" based upon assault weapon designs are short barreled, fire rifle caliber ammunition, and are designed to be fired with two hands. A normal pistol can be fired one-handed without significant difficulty, but these are virtually impossible to fire off handed and require a similar grip as an assault rifle. Until the General Assembly updates the TCA these sorts of pistols as defined by the ATF are open to interpretation under the TCA. Given the circumstances, the police weren't simply going to let what looked to them as a car load of criminals drive off with weapons. I understand that concern. What was a car load of gangbangers from Metro doing in Gallatin, with drugs and weapons in the passenger compartment of their vehicle? Having a HCP isn't an exemption from doing stupid things. While I disagree with the legal interpretation, I fully understood how they came to the conclusion they did. -
I love mine and would echo Jonnin's comments with one exception: I often carry mine in my pocket as backup to the Sig 220, and have never had a magazine drop, ever. If I'm just running to the store, I often pick up the 238 and put it in my pocket. Great little gun, accurate considering the short sight radius. The rest of Jonnin's analysis, I think is completely accurate.

I heard today that he was extremely obnoxious to the girls in the clerk's office and made it clear he wanted a confrontation with the police. He also spoke with General Lamberth with a similar message. The General quoted his feelings about Mr. Embody and his crusade, "Just because they make spandex in your size, doesn't mean it's a good idea for you to wear it." -
Welcome. We can use more cops here.

Holster question - with or without thumb break
MikePapa1 replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
If you are in such a situation where you fear someone may grab your pistol from your holster, it seems to me extremely ill advised to go to that place in the first place. I carry IWB and for someone to grab my gun before I could, even in an open carry situation, seemed decidedly unlikely. But, OK. -
Holster question - with or without thumb break
MikePapa1 replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Why a thumb break for open carry? I don't do anything when I carry that would warrant a thumb break. LEOs use them for retention when they're jumping or rolling around on the ground. I can see very few circustances where I'd ever need a thumb break. -
I'm pretty sure the dishwasher or washing machine are pretty much out of the question.

Very nice. I've always thought the SAS line looked, well, funny. Not funny HA HA but funny strange. I think of all the classic Sigs as first and foremost military style weapons. The SAS line shows that they can be, well, hot-rodded, as well.

A pump for a well with the pressure tank. My parents had almost the same set up.

I looked at the one at D&T, too. I liked the feel of the gun overall, but in dry firing the trigger felt funny. It had a little catch in it that just didn't feel like any other Sig. I'll have to wait until I can actually shoot one I'll reserve judgment.

Did you take a plea? Was it written out? Did the ADA mention the lifetime revocation in open court? When did this happen?

I'm not aware of any law these violate.
