  1. This is odd, although I've heard the same about their AR lowers/rifles, I can't stop hearing great things about their FAL copies... Maybe they should've stuck with what they know, eh?

    AR 15 Pistol

People really dislike the XCR due to it's unreliable customer service and spotty machining (you may get a good one, you may not). My father in law has one that he really enjoys, but it wouldn't be much more to get a LWRC, would it?
  3. Very well indeed! Looks pretty good to me

    Olympic Arms

If you want a starter for plinking and such, there are a few better alternatives out that you can get as cheap, if not cheaper. I paid a little over $850 out the door for my Del-Ton, and that brand is much prefered over Olympic Arms. I got mine from Frontier Firearms off I-40, in Kingston. They're great people to deal with and that will be my one and only gunshop.
  5. I've been toying with the idea of the EoTech/magnifier for my own build, but since this rifle is taking over the role I probably won't. I have no problem with the Magpul CTR stock, but that's the flavor I like...

    Olympic Arms

I have trouble trusting anything Oly Arms. They seem to be like Century Arms, really--if you get a good one, they're okay; but if you happen across a bad one, it can be terrible. My brother bought one when he first tried the AR platform (and believe me, that's why he cusses the platform now). The magazine well wasn't up to spec (the mag we got with the rifle didn't fit), it would constantly have issues with the BCG, even when clean. It was a nightmare. You would be better off saving a few pennies and buying something better, or piecing together your own.
  7. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/competitive-shooting-sports/58816-orsa-3-gun-june-19th.html Next one is July 17th, which will be the first I'll be attending.
  8. I'll gladly consult if you're willing to spell out exactly what you want. Most SPRs are 18" with a 4-16x power scope, but I wanted to be able to use this rifle as a possible CQB--so this isn't the definition of a SPR, just my own interpretation. My inbox is never full, PM me or post here any time:koolaid:

Hope things get better for you, buddy
  10. I'm sure I'll like it. It's going to be my single-best creation I'm hoping the wife will like it, aswell. It is for her. I would highly reccomend against piecing together your own .308 AR unless you have $2k + to invest into it. When I was first getting into the platform I thought, "man, I don't want a ***** 5.56 caliber... .308 is where it's at!" And after reaching 1k and only getting the lower and handguard saved in my favorites, I got a bit apprehensive. So I delved into the 5.56 and realized there's very little wrong with it, and the prices are fair (I can pick up a hundred rounds for $40 and change). If you're going to be needing some help, I'll do as much as I can.
  11. Great, just the person to ask. Do I need anything other than the adapter and the bipod? Probably a stupid question. I just don't know how they fit together...
  12. So I updated my list. Decided to search for a bipod for medium-range shooting (for fun =D). I bought to following and added a Harris bipod to my unbought list: Midlength Gas tube: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR15-mid-length-gas-tube-p/gas%20tube%20-%20mid%20length.htm Charging handle: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-GUNFIGHTER-Charging-Handle-GFH-Mod-3-p/bcm%20gfh%20mod%203%20556.htm Bipod adapter for railed forearms: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Yankee-Hill-Machine-Bipod-Adaptor-yhm-p/yhm-638.htm
  13. Sorry, my fault.
  14. I saw that after the post above. I hate it when that happens.
  15. Yeah, I was looking for a legal source (IE, the main website, possibly). I've got a buddy who has On Demand, so I'll probably just hop over to his house and watch it.
  16. Anyone know where I can see this online, or if there'll be another showing on TV?
  17. What kind of $ ceiling are we looking at, here? If you consider shopping online: AK Pattern Rifles Centerfire Systems - AK Firearms Good places to start.
  18. I've heard they've gotten rid of the Nuke killstreak, so that's a +
  19. I'll make sure I check this forum frequently to look for the next date, dude. I'd love to come in and watch, possibly participate if they allow S12s. ETAsk: do they allow rimfires to compete? My brother is interested, but likes his 10/22 the most
  20. Do you have to be a member to get in on the action?

Since you're exploring other options, have you considered 300 Whisper or BLK?
  22. Modern Warfare 3 “Looking to Support Dedicated Servers” says Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling | GameFront Possible dedicated servers, and no second-chance perk.... Interesting...
  23. That's the first I've heard of the barrel twist being 1:9.5...
  24. The DMR configurations are mighty expensive, man. ($1,893, in this case). Sig Sauer Rifle Sig556 DMR
  25. Lookin' good, buddy. What attachments were you planning? Also, I just want to say I'll always have a Magpul grip on my future ARs.
