Anyone using a GoldenRod or like device in their safe? Hygrometer(weather station) in safe? Rubber/plastic mat to place safe on? How to seal hole in safe if using a plug-in device such as a GoldenRod? Recommendations/advice welcomed.

Congrats on your accomplishment, Good Steward.  I did 2700 miles in 6 days on a Texas trip last May, 633 the final day.  Wiped me out, but at 72 yrs old that don't take much.

I always called them grass spiders, since that's the only place I ever see them.  I've been bitten numerous time by them while weeding flower beds and, while not very painful, you still know it when you've been bitten.  Pain goes away within minutes, leaving a red mark.  While not deadly to people, I'd rather not be bitten.

I have carried my Bersa CC over all the southern states and out west on motorcycle.  All steel, so a tad heavy for pocket carry.  It rides well in my inside vest pocket or belt carry.  The .380 is not unpleasant to shoot.

I retired from the VA.  It is a very political agency.  Grossly mismanaged/overmanaged.  The number of veterans seeking disability is overwhelming.  Substance abuse is rampant, as is the number of those faking a disability in order to get a government check.. Having your medical needs handled by a Vanderbilt intern wanting only to get his "tour" completed is not my idea of premium health care.  While there are many good interns, and many Veterans being served, the system is in need of a serious revamping, from top to bottom.
