I have an 8040 that I like a lot. It functions great and is a pleasure to shoot. I think it is a little big for a carry gun.
  2. Buy a lower and register it via a form 1. Build yourself an SBR. AR-15 pistols get old to shoot pretty quick, IMHO.
  3. Are you looking for grips like these?

    Do you .22?

I think a .22 is great. Super cheap, and allows you to go through the motions. I would recommend a suppressed P22 package, or one of the Integral Rugers. Nothing like plinking at 8:30 am and not bothering the neighbors.
  5. Yes, it would be. Too bad ammunition eats up my steak budget. Anybody attending with a 1/2-28 threaded 9mm pistol? I'd like to test my Trident9 on a pistol if possible.
  6. So, I have never attended one of these shoots. Do I just show up at the range around 10 on the morning of? What do I need to bring to help contribute?
  7. Now that! is a winner. So I guess the shooting at THE RUSH made news down that direction too. Damn steroid fiends.......the noid from the roids must have set in.
  8. Thanks for the info. I was thinking just replace the cylinder, that way I can look around for a cylinder that most closely matches the frame finish. I'll keep it sitting in the safe until I make a decision. It just pissed me off that I let this happen in the first place, and I want to redeem myself by correcting the problem.
  9. Here are pics of the finish damage. I never even thought about trying to call S&W. The finish on the pistol is pretty much new. This gun hadn't been shot 50 times when I acquired it still in the box. I just carried it for about a year. Thats why I was thinking a new cylinder would work.
  10. Thanks. It is still a work in progress. I'm putting it on an AR45 lower and didn't want to SBR it. The can is a custom integral I had built around an Olympic .45 upper by Liberty Suppressors in GA. The action of the gun is now the loud part.
  11. ,The suppressor is a 3-lug SWR Trident-9. I built the gun from the ground up on an Eagle(Armalite) receiver using a TROS 5.5" 3-lug barrel and misc parts from various venders. I would be more than happy to help somebody else assemble one after paperwork is complete. Here is another one I'm pretty fond of.
  12. I have an older model 37 S&W .38 that I carried for a while. I ended up with a little moisture between the cylinder and holster and the blueing got tarnished. It is only on the cylinder, not the frame. I was wondering if anybody knows what is involved in replacing the cylinder, or if somebody could remove the cylinder and re-blue it. If I got it reblued I would want it to be only on the cylinder, and undetectable by casual observation.
  13. Here is one of mine.
  14. I'm out in Halls myself. Thanks for the greetings.
  15. I'll say hey, I'm new myself. Post #1 FTW!
