  1.   Blessed art thou among men!
  2. I suppose some sacrifices must be made to further scientific discovery. I just discovered this guy is a dumb a$$. Nothing here than wasn't discovered 100 years ago.
  3. Rushing took the gun from his four-wheeler and attempted to fire it. When it misfired, Rushing commented to the others, “This thing doesn’t work.” And that’s when he pointed it at his head.   Looks like he was DEAD wrong about that!
  4. I believe she's going to peg it out this time.
  5. perhaps I'm missing something here. the question doesn't seem to be the purchase but rather are the people legally allowed to own the firearms now. if the police ask to come in and the people allow them to do so I see no problem. if people should not have firearms due to criminal activity , mental health issues, ect. I see no issue here.
  6. One must always keep in mind that "BROKE" is a relative term. Looks like you have a "WEALTH" of firearms there. Looks like a lot of fine shooting there.
  7. I wonder if he could pass a background check at this point?
  8.   is this that Head Start program I keep hearing about on the news ?
  9. the American Obama dream coming to a neighbor hood near you. No doubt time to lock and load.
  10. I decided to clean my sons Ruger 22/45 today after putting it off for some time. I had heard that it was a rather difficult pistol to tear down and reassemble. Well it seems the stories were true as 3 hours after starting I finally have it cleaned and back together. I would probably had to take to gunsmith if not for the videos on the Ruger web sight. Being a confirmed Glock fan I am not accustomed to using non marring punches and hammers on my guns for routine cleaning.  Hopefully the next cleaning can be done in under 2 hours as I now have a understanding of how the thing is put together. All the function checks seemed to go as described but I think I will let the boy take the first shot or two next time out. :x:
  11. From the article; Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., co-chair of the new caucus, said the aim of the coalition is to highlight issues that impact and influence the conditions of black males. For example, he said, there are few male African-American teachers in elementary and primary school, so some black boys never see someone who looks like them involved in education and thus grow up perceiving education as something women do. I might have to agree with Davis on this one but only because most black males prefer welfare and crime while the remaining few are in Washington crying about their suffering at the hands of the white male. There are some black males that will put in a days work as I work with some at my job. However they are the exception not the rule.
  12. hopefuly everyone at the protest will be open carrying.
  13. Looks like the fine lawmakers of CO shot themselves in the foot on this one. Hope the kids learned a valuable lesson here , acting without thinking can have unintended consequences. If they cant use the money to buy guns I suggest a donation to the NRA.
  14. For me a handgun with a weapon mounted light is best for my situation. I also have a Mossberg 590 but it too has a mounted light. try each option you mentioned above both during the daylight hours then do a run through in the dark. my home defense plan includes the following, Glock 23 with streamlight tlr2,cell phone and a practiced plan. let us know what you decide on.
  15. I just bought this like new 2004 Springfield Armory (IL) M1 Garand on Auction Arms from a gun dealer out of state. I received it Monday at a local gun dealer. While I was at the gun dealer I also picked up a pack of 30-06 165 grain reloads. I took the rifle to my in-laws yesterday and proudly showed it to my Army Vet Father-In-Law. I told me many of his memories shooting one like it. I then took it outside and loaded it up thinking I would allow my Father-In-Law the honor of the first shot... However, he was a little slow in getting out there, so I carefully took aim at a distant bucket and pulled the trigger... In an explosion that rang my ears and hurt my hand, the gun was destroyed. After a few minutes of holding my throbbing hand, I checked for other injuries, and found none except to my wallet. $1,000 gone! Checking the gun, well you can see the stock was destroyed. I found the remaining seven rounds, of which one was so badly mangled, the bullet was missing. The bolt was locked in place and would not move, but looking up inside from the bottom I could see what was left of the case, and I could see the damage to the bolt. I found part of the stock 36' to my right, and part of the stock 35' to my left. This morning I used a rawhide mallet to open the receiver as recommended my S/A. The case looks to be damaged by extreme pressure. I went to Gander Mountain last night and talked to their S/A authorized gunsmith. He said I need to contact S/A and ship the gun back to them, including some of the reloads for testing. I have since downloaded their M1 manual and read that using reloads cancels any warranty. I am thinking about contacting a lawyer. Someone needs to buy me a new M1 and compensate me for my hand, which is still stiff and hurting, I just don't know who yet. I am guessing the reloading company. It was a bitter sweet Thanksgiving. I am thankful I didn't let my F-I-L take the first shot. I am thankful I am still alive, and will heal. But I am ticked off that my new gun, something I have lusted after since that early 1990s, is now in pieces, and I'm out one grand. I will keep you posted as events transpire. Alan   This is from the Surplus Rifle Forum site. Looks like the photos were removed. thread entitled 2004 M1 SA Destroyed on first shot http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=66812
  16. Welcome to the forum. I suppose the first question is do you want to 9mm or 40 cal. The g19 is 9mm and the 27 is 40cal. The g23 is brother to the g22 and the g26 is the little bro to the g19. Now I am the most open minded , unopioninated person on the forum so what I am about to say can be taken as the gospel. The glock 19 is the most realiable, shootable, safest handgun ever made. The modern 9mm ammo will be more than adequate for self defense needs. You can buy any type of accessory you can think of for it. It is very concealable and easy to shoot. Now the g27 is also a fine choice as would be any glock. The bottom line is if possible go to range and rent any of the glocks and go with what you like best. I am in the Nashville area and would be glad to meet you and let you shoot any glock model you like. You would not have to rent this way. Just pm if interested.
  17. A "first generation" Glock 17 with the slide locked back displaying its vertical barrel tilt A "second generation" Glock 17, identified by the checkering on the front and rear straps of the pistol grip and trigger guard An early "third generation" Glock 19, identified by the addition of thumb rests, an accessory rail, finger grooves on the front strap of the pistol grip and a single cross pin above the trigger A "third generation" Glock 17C, identified by the addition of an extra cross pin above the trigger and a reshaped extractor that serves as a loaded chamber indicator use the external link under each picture for an enlarged photo
  18. Wow the greatest collection of guns I have ever seen. How long did it take to collect those. The best part is they are all the black ones. I hear they are very hard to come by so great job. A true motivation to every glock collector.

  22. I'm beginning to wonder who is really the greater threat to gun rights, the anti gunners or stupid a$$ gun owners like this. what difference did it make if the gun was semi auto or full auto, safety rules are the same either way. this guy needs to do serious jail time.
