glock55 replied to Sam1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
http://www.examiner....ntruder-5-times News flash from the "Liberal Times Chronicle" another case for gun control; "Woman Shoots Man In House" A woman in the Atlanta area lured a working man into her house,by not answering the door, and with conservative Republican religious ferver shot him multiple times. The victim is in an area hospital and is expected to recover from his wounds. It appears the woman was lying in wait and when the victim stumbled upon her she opened fire emptying a full clip of large caliber hollow points into his face. As the victim begged her to stop firing she continued the onslaught even as her young children were forced to watch. Although hitting the victim with a couple rounds she also missed sending bullets into the neighborhood endangering innocent children in neighboring homes. Having emptied the clip of her rapid fire weapon the victim was able to escape the and summoned help. Charges are expected to be filed in the case as soon as the investigation is completed. AS REPORTED ON CNN It could happen -

Permit holder looses gun in theatre. Found by children
glock55 replied to c.a.willard's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm a Boy Scout and Kolton and me took a hunter safety class. One of the rules is that you treat all guns as if they're loaded," Levi told KPTV. "train up a child in the way he should go" -- some truths never change!!! training our children how to use and respect fire arms is the best way to protect them from accidents. we should satistfy their curiosity in a safe and constructive way and stories like this would become the norm. however some people will never get it! -
sounds like you have inside the home defense situation covered with the 2 1911's and shotgun. for inside the home defense all you are lacking is a glock and that will have you covered. a glock 21sf will make a good choice if the 1911 is 45acp. i think a rifle for inside the home defense is not the best option due to over penetration, ability to move around corners ect. a rifle however must be included in ones overall self defense plans. when ( not if ) the SHTF a man that can hit a man sized target at 300 yards with iron sights should be able to keep the wolves at bay. i like my s/a m1a standard for this role. for accuracy, rate of fire and knock down power it gets the job done. a proven performer. if you do go with a rifle for inside the home use regardless of caliber i think your most important decision will be the type of bullet you choose. let us know what you decide on.

Pizza Hut Demotes driver for defending himself
glock55 replied to Mykltn's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
these are the kind of decisions made exceutives in plosh offices with security at the front door. i wonder if the guy had fought them off with just his fists if pizza hut would consider his fists a weapon and made the same decision. they just dont understand things aren't so clear cut out here in the real world. -
nice job. ive thought about buying one of these guns but dont know if i could get used to mag release.

hey guys i need some advise on bedding a stock. i bought a remington 700 adl,26 inch heavy barrel. i am replacing the cheap mossy oak camo stock with a bell and carlson bdl m40 stock. they say bedding is not necessary. i just wondered if thats true or will bedding improve long range accuarcy. i also plan to replace the trigger with the remington x-mark pro trigger and free float the barrel. trying to put a rifle together that will be accurate for 500 to 700 yards. any other tips or advise would be appreciated.

no offense taken. i agree with you but at the ranges in my house i feel bird shot will be effective. i keep the pdx1 as last resort due to possible over penetration if i miss. just to be clear i use this formula: reassess time equals rerack time

GLOCK gets my vote for the following reasons: 1) They just dont break if used as designed 2) should it break anyone can fix in 10 minutes 3) parts are availabe and cheap a- 3 pin kit 7.00 b- slide stop lever 7.00 c- recoil spring 7.50 d- trigger spring 2.00 23.50 total if you have a problem with a glock it will likely involve one of these parts. all are easily tested and replaced. i keep 1 of each in my tool box in the unlikely event its needed. however i do regular maintance and inspection on my guns and have never had an issue. i know anything mechanical can fail but if i were going into harms way i would want my glock.

i have a lc9 and like it. yes it has a long trigger pull but with practice i find its not that bad. is very thin and i like the way it feels in my hand. also i put the laserlyte sidemount laser on it. works very well and the gun will fit all standard holsters. for price, reliabilty and size give it a long look

recently had same experience at dicks. bought gun at rivergate for 449. they only had one i wanted 2 so clerk called mt juliet store they had one. went there price was 549 for same gun. after some price matching discussion the manager said dicks does not price match thier own stores. end of discussion. walmart probably has same policy just wont admit it.

i buy federal multi-purpose load from walmart for practice. at the house that is the load in the chamber. should that not stop the threat the next rounds are winchester oobuck 9 pellet loads. i keep winchester pdx1 defender in the side saddle should the situation go south

my wife has permit and carries her g19. she enjoys shooting but still a little weary of guns overall. when it comes to my gun purchases our policy is "don't ask don't tell. " overall she's supportive. by the way any thoughts on how to tell her about that remington 700 in the safe would be helpful,,,,,,,,,, Merry Christmas to all
