just got off the phone with the lady at shooters gun shop in Nashville. I asked her about the sign on the door regarding no loaded firearms except for law enforcement. she advised that the sign is on the door and wanted to know why I was asking. I advised her of this thread and she offered this explanation for the sign. she said in that area they get a lot of younger customers and customers of foreign birth who come in and want to show each other their guns. they do this trying to convince each other on the best gun to purchase. apparently been some ND in the past due to this practice. they posted this sign to prevent this group from bringing loaded firearms into the store. I did not question her regarding other options for this group but several come to mind. I told her I work in that area and stop in every Thursday after work to browse their inventory but would not do so in the future do to this sign. she advised me that concealed carry was welcome in their store as long as it remained concealed carry as opposed to what this group of people were doing. I asked her specifically if I was in the store concealed carry and they spotted me would I get harassed. her answer was absolutely not. they are just trying to stop a problem they were having from a specific group of customers. I have found the staff a shooters to be helpful and friendly every time I have been in there. their prices seem to be among the best in Nashville. I am going by there tomorrow when I get off work and will talk to them again about this face to face just so there is no misunderstanding. I just hate to see a gun shop get a bad reputation due to a misunderstanding.

I have that same laser on my ruger lc9. I got it on sell a while back at midway also. a great laser for the money. a added benefit, it fits all my standard holsters -
wow Grafs rocks. just got the 22 ammo I ordered the other day. was expecting an order from midway usa so this was a total surprise. I didn't think anyone could beat midway for shipping but looks like there's a new kid in town. I will definitely give these folks some more business.

well about to get back to my Remington 700 build. the gun currently has the x-mark trigger which I plan to upgrade with the timney or jewel trigger. I will use gun for target shooting only. I want a good trigger but reliability is very important to me. also I find the timney to be better priced but will pay more if the quality is there. would appreciate any advise on which way to go. thanks in advance

yes the glock gen 2 gun like all glocks are the premiere semi auto guns on the market yesterday, today and tomorrow. if you have any question about the gun I would strongly suggest you take it to a gun smith and have it checked. also as I have said before if in Atlanta stop in at glock they will clean, inspect and upgrade free of charge while you wait. and welcome to the forum.

I understand this is not an easy thing for a business to do so hats off to hi viz. I am going to order a hi viz front sight for my new Henry rifle. Hope other companies will follow suit.

29% Think Armed Revolution Needed
glock55 replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Finding a poll worth reading is as difficult as finding a honest politician! You want to know what people think and believe look at were they spend their money. Just my two cents worth! -
Well Stainless looks like you only have 2 options to correct the grip issue on that fine looking gun. You could as Garufa has suggested by a grip sleeve and just continue to shoot the gun as is. I would not recommend this approach as I feel this just covers up the problem while failing to remedy the root cause of said grip issue. I think we both know this would not be the best course of action in the long run. After looking at your picture this appears to be a standard gen 3 glock that should not be giving any grip to hand contact issues. I suspect that all that is needed in this situation is my custom glock grip conditioning program. I have used this program with all my glocks and can say it has been 100 percent successful. I find that after completing the program none of my glocks hurt my hands at all. Stainless I am willing to offer you this program absolutly free just for the opportunity to let all our fellow tgo friends know about this new program. Stainless just send your glock to me along with 3000 rounds of fmj ammo and I will use my calloused hands to rework that grip into a grip that you will love. If after the first session I don't feel the grip is what you want you just send another 3000 rounds of fmj ammo and I will do another session absolutly free. My method does not require the use of sandpaper or other destructive methods used by other people to custom fit the grip to your hand. Stainless when you get your custom grip glock back you won't be disappointed. Just pm me for shipping details and I will even pay shipping cost to my house.

Is this a rtf2 glock or some treatment that was done to the gun?
-
So what's your point? Possibly that there is still one step more involved in firing a 1911 than there is to fire a Glock.
-
Anything is only worth what your willing to pay for it. If you can afford it and are willing to pay the price then it's worth it to you regardless what anyone else thinks. My only question in carrying a gun like that would be if I became involve in a shooting. It would be taken for evidence. But I'm sure you would get it back. Just be sure to post pictures on whatever you buy.

your right its not their fault. its the fault of the guards and warden that this is going on. sounds like they should be added to the prison population.

LAPD Settles w/ Women shot during Dornan manhunt
glock55 replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in General Chat
LAPD chief Charlie Beck called the incident a "tragic misinterpretation" by officers working under a high level of stress. He personally apologized to the mother and daughter a few days after the shooting and launched an investigation into the officers' conduct, which is ongoing. Results of the investigation are as follows: 1) lapd officers are color blind 2) lapd officers can't differentiate makes or models of vehicles and 3) lapd officers need more target practice The city of Los Angeles is paying out $4.2 million to two women who were accidentally shot by the LAPD during the Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/women-shot-dorner-manhunt-settlement-2013-4#ixzz2RWszeKs9 Looking at the pictures that comes to less than a dollar a round -
I called glock when I got home today and here is what I found out: 1) manufacture date: a) the date on the fired brass packet is the date it was made b) serial number you must call glock and they will look it up for you. There is no way you can tell when it was made by serial number 2) slide finish: the original glocks had a more gray matte finish that by the late gen2/gen3 was changed to the shiny black that I think most of us a familiar with. There was then a change to the gray matte finish which he said he could not really explain a reason for. He gave me the impression that it was what someone up the chain of command wanted but he personally had never been given a reason for the change. Lastly the slide finish has been changed to a black matte finish. When I asked the reason for the change he said it would not reflect light as well. I asked if it had anything to do with cycling issues or the fact that people in general didn't seem to like the color and he said he couldn't address those issues. Sounded like a guy trying to keep his job. He advised that the tenifer finish, the treatment that accutualy protects the metal, has not changed. 3) glock rep: jhc77 sorry that you did not get the help you were looking on your call. Perhaps the person you spoke with was busy or just having a bad day. I would say the the guy I spoke with was very helpful and did not seemed put out by my call. He offered really more info on the early glocks than I could digest but I could also tell there were some things he could not discuss. I told him we were not looking for trade secrets but were just a bunch of gun guys trying to learn more about our guns. He seemed cool with that and I invited him to check out the tgo forum. Who knows if he likes ,glock discounts in the future? 4) personal reflection: while I will say the matte gray is not my favorite color,my g26 is gray, I will also say if I was looking for a pretty gun I would still have my s&w e version. While a glock may not be the prettest gun out there I don't think anyone will argue to its reliabilty, combat accuracy or ease of maintaince. I would never say thats&w,Springfield, beretta, ect don't make great guns but if I ever have to defended myself or others I want a glock. This is just my personal opinion and if anyone disagrees that's ok. After all that's what makes the forum so interesting.

I will also find out Friday how the casing date relates to manufacture date and post
