I know it's hard to tell with typed words, but I'm 99% sure he meant it in jest. In fact...that statement gives me hope....if the proportion of beauty of the lady is directly and reversely proportional to the ugliness of the man....that means I'm going to end up dating someone that looks like Jessica Alba...lol

A sad day for gun owners in the state of TN. Would have just been so much easier to say "Any bill that furthers the rights of gun owners and those with HCPs fails!" I would say the sponsor of the parks carry bill just made so much sense and spoke so well, but he might have well as been talking to a brick wall... Maybe if we could ever get more like him and less like Naifeh, Sonitary...and the one other I can't think of right now...we might someday have a chance.

FYI: I just watched another sub-committee meeting and it took me clicking on the camera icon SEVERAL times before it would play. It didn't even start playing until about 2 minutes after the time they were supposed to start and then it was another 3-4 minutes before the meeting actually started. I'm not sure, but I don't think they activate the feed until just before it gets ready to start.

I've never had to install anything to watch it. On my computers it has always opened Windows Media Player and played on that.

I agree with you on the part of why the provision was added to HB 0702. But I do not agree that 39-17-1321 prevents the consuming of alcohol period while armed. 39-17-1350 when it talks about carry for LEO says "shall not consume or be under the influence". So it would seem by that wording that the legislature sees a difference between the simply act of consuming alcohol and being under the influence. IMO it would take some outward sign (other than the beer bottle in your hand) noticeable to others to be determined to be under the influence. Now as I've said before...it may not take that level for a LEO to say you were under the influence.

Hmmmmmm....surely you're not saying those that first told you that your MIL ID was not valid proof were wrong and they didn't even know the provisions of the very department they work for?

Not to keep this going, but the bill actually only has the "no alcohol, period" part while you are inside the establishment that serves alcohol for onsite consumption. When you are otherwise out in the public or at home the "under the influence" of 39-17-1321 would apply. Part of me thinks the not consuming at all part of HB0702 is because we already don't expect a bartender to determine how much is too much as far as driving, public intoxication, so don't want them trying to tell how much is too much for carrying while in their place.
