  1. I couldn't agree more Steve, I have been in there only a few times but always made to feel like I was bothering them. One guy in there had a face like a mule, like he would rather be somewhere else and I am not sure who he was but I am thinking he may have been one of the owners. I hated it there because of how they acted toward people and toward me. I don't like going somewhere that people act like they are doing ME a favor by taking my money. To be honest, I say good riddance.
  2. MrsS, is it not burning you up? No sweating? I need to get mine out and try it again in this heat.
  3. LOL and of course!
  4. Wow Angel, that is great, you got it fast, Mark got his today, it has been 81 days, he is thinking maybe since they are so far behind that he might oughta go ahead and order his renewel already LOL LOL I don't get it though, evidently they don't do them in order for it to fall the way it does for people.
  5. My husband turned in his paperwork and fingerprinted on March 20th, got his HCP today, it took 81 days.
  6. He is headed to Fort Jackson SC as I type. We said that he left yesterday but that was to go to Knoxville where he spend the night. He said they will be in there around 12 tonight. I will probably get this wrong but his MOS is going to be a driver, the big trucks, humvees etc. I don't know what that title is, you will probably understand that more than me
  7. db99wj, that is what I am hoping, he is actually pretty mature for his age but still has a lot of growing to do. I didn't want him to join so early but he would NOT leave me alone about it and I knew he would do it as soon as he turned 18 anyway so I figured I would let him get that year in. He had just turned 17 in Aug of last year and signed up in Oct. Just left for Basic yesterday as Natosha said and will return around the middle of Aug and go right into his Senior year. He will turn 18 on Aug. 16. It is every mothers dread but I am proud of him nonetheless. I just want him to be safe. Also, as for the question about being 21 to carry etc. I am not sure how I feel about the ones that have fulfilled their military training and such. I do believe that kids go into the services and come out men and women so I may view it differently when Tyler gets home, but right now I would not want him being able to legally carry or purchase a handgun. Only then will I know as far as militarily speaking. But just your regular 18, 19, 20 year old then no, I don't think they need to be carrying.
  8. Question: Do any of you like the Cap & ball guns? Huh? I don't know what a Cap & ball gun is.
  9. East TN for me also. Question: should the age to purchase a handgun and obtain a carry permit be lowered to 18? Personally I think it needs to stay the way it is. Kids need to grow up a bit more before they are handling and carrying handguns. OK everyone go ahead and flog me.....
  10. Congrats MrsS, that is great that you found something that you like so much. Is yours the Ultra Light?
  11. I would have gotten down on my knees and thanked God that my family was not injured in that wreck. Possessions (Explorer) can be replaced but family members and friends cannot. From the sounds of it that poor guy needs a new family, one with love and concern for him rather than a vehicle. This is sad!
  12. Is there any doubt in your mind about whether you would be able to pull the trigger in a self defense situation? I also have thought about this a lot and I have to say that I always go back to the same thought each time, we are born with a natural instint to want to survive and if someone threatened to do me harm or take my life I truly believe that instint would kick in and I would do my best to protect myself. I also hope that I am never faced with that decision but I think I am prepared mentally to handle it if I am. Question: Should a background check be done for a permit carrier every time they purchase a firearm? No, I think those that have went through the legal process to carry should have their carry permits honored with being able to purchase a gun without the background check each time.
  13. Mark is at day 76
  14. Tungsten things do happen, I use to run a forum and I know how one line of code can screw up things LOL. I am glad it was minimal and all is well 'cept for missing a few posts. You do a great job and we do appreciate you!
  15. Dang we all need to get together, Packin is about an hour from Knoxville, Natosha and I are about 45 minutes from Knoxville, if we could get together it would be fun!
  16. MrsS, have you ever shot a .9 mm? I love my 9's. I have two and they are great, the recoil is enough to know you are shooting but it is not so snappy that it hurts. If the Kel-tec 9mm was smaller I would get it in a heart beat for my smallest conceal and have all 9's but the .380 is small so I have that when I am dressed for hot weather. If you've not shot a 9 give it a try. I have two that you could shoot if we were closer or well if I even knew where you were and you wanted to shoot it I would let you. You may just really like a Glock 26
  17. What caliber you getting it in MrsS?

    best .22 handgun

Ha!! Though I am a newbie in gun shooting I have to agree, I had a .22lr handgun and after shooting my .9mm so much I just couldn't enjoy the .22 anymore, so I traded it. Not to say I won't ever get another one and if so it will probably be a Browning Buckmark or Ruger Mark III but they just don't go BANG hard enough. I like to know I shot something
  19. That is sooo good! I love it.
  20. As of right now the only thing I want to add in time is a Ruger LCP so that I can pass the Kel-tec P3AT to Mark. I shot my PCR yesterday and I love it more each time I shoot it.
  21. Congrats to the wife and to you of course because I know it makes you happy that she is about to carry. I like a 9mm best, I have the Glock 26 and a CZ 75D PCR compact. I have a .380 (Kel-tec) but I don't like it for practise. To me a 9mm is perfect for a woman, it's not so much bang that it offends but enough to know it went bang!!!!! If she likes your Glock then how about a G26?
  22. LOL I always miss the good stuff when it is going on but I found it, hehehe. I love Steak and Shake!!! I love the Frisco Burgers and fries!
  23. Question: What's your favorite book? Thats a tough one, there is a set that I LOVE and then one single by the same author. The single being "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers and her "Mark of the Lion" series. YEAH DAVID COOK!!!!
  24. Question: Not counting Tennessee, what other state would you want to live in and why? Montana maybe, and I LOVE snow also. I think Montana just seems like a good place.
  25. Thanks Tabby! Had computer problems. Question: The American Idol Final result show is tonight!! Which David would you like to see win? I had hoped that it would come down to the two Davids because after about week 4 or 5 into the show they became the two favorites of mine. To be honest I would love to see the kid win because he really REALLY wants this but if I were to choose which is the most talented in my opinion I would have to go with Cook. Bottom line is it doesn't matter which for me.
