Hmmm I wonder why the website is wrong, they need to fix it, that is why I ended up with the Glock because I thought it weighed less. Oh well, I really like my Glock but I could have possibly had an XD Subcompact.
-
I am going to the Springfield Armory website, I am looking up the XD Subcompact and it says the weights with an empty mag is 26 oz. so I don't know where I am wrong. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php?version=59

Where's the dang pictures?

Linoge, something you might want to consider if it comes down between the XD and the G26. The Glock 26 loaded weighs what the XD SC weighs empty. When I was ready to buy my semi auto 9mm I got down to those two choices for myself. I handled both guns and chose the G 26. I haven't regretted it yet. I love my G 26. It is simple and a good tool. I am sure the XD is also, so basically I feel it is which ever feels the best in your hand and if weight is an issue then consider the difference there (Thanks to PackinMama for her insight). Glock 26 WEIGHT 560 g / 19.75 oz. Empty 740 g / 26.10 oz. Loaded XD Subcompact WEIGHT 26 oz. with empty compact mag 27 oz with empty extended mag It doesn't say how much the XD weighs loaded but if we go by the difference in the G 26 then we can add 6.35 oz to the XD mag and get 32.35 oz. Of course that is my est. but it makes sense. I know nothing about the PPS.

I couldn't agree more BrasilNuts, they are both my kids, she is my daughter and Jude is my grandson, so I am right there with you, I want her to protect herself and that baby! She is taking care of that too, she can tell when she gets here what she got today! I don't want to jump in front of her but I am proud of her choice.

I know, I am loving it too!! I have carried my G26 loaded and one in the chamber for quite a while now. I started out carrying a S&W 640 when I first started carrying and yes I was nervous at first with a loaded gun but the more I got used to it and constantly reminded myself to keep the finger off the trigger I have became ok with it all. I respect a loaded gun but I am not afraid of it, I just keep my fingers disciplined and off that trigger until I am ready to shoot it. Also keeping it in a good holster that covers the trigger and is snapped in is reassuring that a kid can't get to it while I am carrying. It takes time but you can get there.

I love my G26, I don't think you will regret your purchase at all.
-
Natosha, you know my opinion on that. I am thankful that Freddy was coming out when he did. You need to always be prepared, that is MY opinion!
-
You're not gonna believe this BUT I have not taken it out to shoot yet, I want too and will soon but I have been so busy that I have not had a chance. We have a new gun store here in Athens called All American Gun Shop and they got it in new, it was their first one and I got first choice so of course I wanted it. I gave my little Kel-tec to Mark. The LCP and Kel-tec are very much alike, but I like the smoothness of the LCP better. I expect it to shoot much like the Kel-tec and I had no complaints about the Kel-tec for what it was used for, a very concealable carry gun. It is very tiny but IMO powerful for it's size.

LOL Yep and to think, I ride a motorcycle and shoot a gun. I like living dangerously.

Ouch and double owie! That sounds so like something that would happen to me! I am a Murphy (seriously, my maiden name)!! And for those that have no idea what I mean *sheesh* Murphy's Law, If anything can go wrong, it will! Wikipedia: Murphy's law is an adage in Western culture that broadly states "if anything can go wrong, it will." It is also cited as: "If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way"; "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong"; or, "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way". Hope you are ok! I know that had to hurt like the dickens!

Ya know, this BURNS me to the core and to think that there are Americans that are going to vote for him, they need to take him and every one that thinks he is so fine and move them to another planet. The blood that was shed to make America what she is is being trampled on and now my son is at Basic training to defend her. This makes me sick, literally.

What ya'll talkin about, I just see a cute little puppy there! -
For those of you that haven't been able to see the Ruger LCP and wanted to know the size compared to another gun I took pictures of my LCP against my Glock 26. I carry the G 26 a lot but the LCP is so easy to conceal so when I need light it is perfect, if I only had the LCP I wouldn't have a problem with carrying it all the time, I just prefer my G 26 when it is feasible to carry. Keep in mind that the LCP is good for it's use as a very concealable tool, IMO it is not as pleasant to shoot but I will be happy to have it on me if I need to protect myself. These are just to give you an idea if you were wondering!

Letter to Bradley Square Mall
Ricochet replied to dralarms's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well I sent them my thoughts also. Bradley Square Mall was a great place to get out to when I want to come out and spend some money on my grandchildren or to pick up a nice pair of shoes or just to window shop and have a snack at the food court on a nice Saturday evening but unfortunately I won't be able to do that anymore since I have been banned. Banned by proxy! If I can't carry my firearm for protection for myself and my family then I am not welcome there. Far be it from me to be able to protect myself when criminals won't heed your No Weapons policy. So you are in turn asking me to be a sitting or walking duck for whomever may come in there that has never obeyed the law and doesn't plan to start just because you posted signs all over your entrances. Don't you get it, when a place is posted for no firearms, criminals see a neon flashing sign that says: "We are not armed in this facility so come on in and wreck your havoc because no one will be able to fight back!" Do you honestly think it will make a difference to the people that don't carry whether you allow or disallow the legal licensed patrons to carry? Think about this, it will make a world of difference that you won't allow it to the ones that depend upon that 2nd amendment right to self protection. If our weapons are banned then we won't come there and sir there are more HCP carriers than I think you can even imagine so go ahead and hold your ban and in the end the stores in your mall will suffer. Possibly in more ways than one. The economy is struggling as is and now you are putting a nail in the mall's coffin when you tell us that we are not welcome there. So your competitors will reap the benefit of your choices. Good for them. Just one last thought, I LEGALLY carry and I know people that LEGALLY carry that know people that LEGALLY carry and they know people that LEGALLY carry. It goes on and on and we will stick together on this because it is very important to us, matter of fact it is a case of possible life or death, so you tell me Mr Mall person, which way do you think we will lean toward? Have a good day! -

dralarms, very good letter. -
Thanks and LOL OK, well I wasn't sure, someone else told me it was a 250 hahaha. I guess that person just assumed it was and so I assumed they knew what they were talking about

Well the class is over and I passed! I was exhausted after each day but I did get on my bike after I got home yesterday, showered and ate. I took the class on a Kawasaki Eliminator 250. Getting on the V Star 650 was definitely different as far as size and weight but the basics apply on either. Here is a picture of me at the class and then some of me yesterday evening on my bike. There is a little industrial park close to where I live that I rode down to so I could practise.
