hmmm, I actually left the target that we shot on the target holder at my son in laws mothers house where we shot, sorry I don't have pictures.
-
The one I want has the alloy frame so isn't too bad, I think it's actually about the same weight as my Glock. I held one today and I am hooked. I told my local gun store lady, Fugates, to order me one. She always has better prices than the others around here. I just hope she can get her hands on one. http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/review/CZ75D_PCR.htm

We shot the CD 1911 yesterday evening and it is really nice. I was actually very surprised at how smooth it was compared to some guns I have shot. I actually did pretty good with it too, I was a little high but was between center mass and chest cavity area of the target at about 35 to 40 feet.

It is isn't it? and look at this one I found online. Now that is sweet!
-
So no one knows about this gun?
-
OK I am in for the count, I am woman I have a Glock 26 that I carry in a belly band and when I am not carrying my Glock I carry my Kel-tec P3AT in an inside the waist Uncle Mikes holster.
-
LOL join the club, I am also looking. I have the G26 and I love it! But I am in the market for another 9mm. I am currently looking at the Springfield XD subcompact 9mm, the SR9 which isn't subcompact and I just got my sites on the CZ 75 D PCR compact. I just started a thread to ask about that one. I have held the XD and I like it but the reason I chose the Glock over the XD the first time was because of the weight difference. As I said before, I love my Glock but I just want another one for my collection since I traded two of my guns this week.
-
Hey guys, I am really liking the looks of the CZ 75 D PCR, does anyone know anything about it? I am looking at the Springfield XD subcompact 9mm and the SR9 and I saw a picture of the CZ 75 D PCR but I know nothing at all about them. And hey Marswolf, it has a decocker.
-
You know I was only messing with ya Marswolf I wish I knew someone that had the sub XD so I could try it. I will get to try the SR9 since my son in law is getting that in a week or two. I am leaning toward the XD but the SR9 is a prettier gun IMO.
-
LOL strickj, I would have to get a Charles Daly 1911 to have a match with my husband, which is what started this thread in the first place. It is my son in law, Natosha's husband that got the SR9.
-
Well then I may just have to get the XD since Freddy is getting the SR9. We will have all kinds of 9mm shells flying LOL. Well, I guess ya'll figured out by now that Natosha is my daughter. This is turning into a family affair. Natosha, her husband Freddy, Mark my husband and I all shoot together.
-
OK thanks for your explanation, I can't agree or disagree with you concerning the XD being better than the Glock until or unless I get the XD and can then honestly give an opinion, but we all know that you hate Glocks
-
Can you tell me why you wouldn't recommend striker fired? Choosing my next gun is what has me a little undecided at the moment, not only will I want to shoot it for target practise and fun, I want to be able to use whatever I get as a carry if the mood hits. Both guns I have now can be carry and I like it that way, (only one of them is fun to shoot). I want this next one to be fun and carry.
-
I think it sounds very promising OK so now I am thinking about two. The Springfield Subcompact XD 9mm and the Ruger SR9 And since the SR9 will be a little bigger but slimmer it may give me some variety in the feel at least. Ya know what I am thinking, that the more I have of the same caliber the easier it is to keep up with the ammo. LOL, I don't shoot the P3AT much cause it is just not a fun gun to shoot, so I don't bother with having to get target ammo for it. But if I have two 9mm's then I am set to go with either. I think I have about talked myself into it. Wow I am definitely liking the idea. Decisions Decisions.

Packin, it was kinda of a surprise but not quite, he sent off for his permit a week ago and he has been talking hard about a 1911 for the last couple of months. He has been researching the Taurus, I happened to stroll into the gun store day before yesterday and saw three 1911's there and I really liked the Charles Daly. So I mentioned it to him and he did some fast looking up and it has all the bells and whistles that he wanted already. He is left handed which helps that there is a thumb safety latch on both sides. So yes he is a very happy guy. He was polishing and loving on it last night. I ended up doing some trading and came out with some money on top to go toward me a new gun also, still saving but about half way there. Not sure what I want yet. As of right now I only have two guns. My Glock 26 and my Kel-tec P3AT. It almost seems fruitless to get another sub compact 9 mm? What do you all think? I want to get something else that I can actually carry if I want, I was torn between the Glock 26 and the XD sub. Springfield 9mm when I decided on the Glock. I don't regret it because I really love it. But I still keep thinking about that XD LOL.

Send her on over Boomhower, I will try to give her a good talking too, but I don't know if being from Athens will help much, I was born and raised in Almost Heaven West Virginia.
-
Thanks DrBoomBoom, those are my babies! Well everyone, I got the pistol for him and he really likes it. I think it is a tiny bit heavy LOL but what do I know. Now since I got his new toy out of the way I am saving for my next one I am thinking of the Springfield XD subcompact 9 mm. I have the Glock 26 and I love it but I am still thinking on that XD. Well, that is unless I find something else that peaks my interest.

Thank you all so very much, he gets to come home from work tonight to a brand new Charles Daly 1911.
-
My husband wants a 1911 and I found a Charles Daly yesterday. We like the looks of it but he wants to know if it will shoot hollow points. The book on it says round nose bullets not wad cutters. The hollow point is sorta in the middle so does anyone have experience with this? And is the CD 1911 any good?

Question For the Instructors on the Forum
Ricochet replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
dralarms, did you get them done at the new place in Athens? DMV told me to be sure to tell them that I had already paid when I paid my $115 because it was included. Somewhere there was a lack of communication and you lost $70, that stinks. -
Rabbi its called a Safepacker and you can find it on this link. http://store.thewilderness.com/index.php?cPath=51 There's a video there that is interesting, don't miss it.

Question For the Instructors on the Forum
Ricochet replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Nope Mike.357 you are not the only one, I remember clearly (not sure how) that day, I was in the garage and I bent down to pick up something that had fallen and when I came back up I hit my head on the banister to the steps that led to the kitchen, I hit it with a vengence if you can only imagine and the blood was pouring, I managed to get to the kitchen and my cell phone and call my husband at work to tell him I was passing out and I was crying because I thought I wasn't gonna get to go to my class. Ha! I got the bleeding stopped, hubby flew home to check on me and I went to class anyway. I had a headache but I still passed and hated to see it end, I ate it up, because ya see, I was completely new to handguns and it was my desire to learn how to be safe with it. Personally I believe that it should be our right to keep and bear arms without class because the constitution didn't say we had to take a class first but IMO the class is good for those of us that haven't had experience with guns and we should want to get training so that we can be safe first and proficient next. I go to the range as often as I can get there to continue practicing so that I can get better with my aim. -

Legally Armed, good luck to you! I hope this iggit gets replaced. I know, maybe you could run against him? -
I agree also that I like to look around and browse and I like being left alone to do so and then if I need help I will ask and that is when I would like for them to help me, so that is why Coal Creek has always seemed fine to me but Legends has always been snotty to me except for one lone salesperson in the store, I just can't figure them out. My husband and son bought me gift cards for Legends and I had a hard time spending it because of their attititudes. Maybe it's because I am a woman, who knows, if that were the reason it would stink. I would rather take my business somewhere else and the sad thing is that Legends is 10 minutes drive for me.
-
Gee, that is exactly how I have been treated at Legends Outdoor Advantage in Athens, that is the worst place for treating customers as if they even matter, I hate the place. I honestly don't know how they stay in business. I have been in Coal Creek twice and it hasn't been anything bad like Legends.
