LOL well from the thread I am sure you know what kind of shots I would have made.

The Pink Lady is a fine looking revolver, that's right down pretty!
-
Hey that looks cool. When are they supposed to get that on the market? I also see that Gander Mountain exclusively sells a Taurus Millennium 9 mm or .380 with a lot of pink on it.

I LOVE to camp and actually Mark does too if it isn't TOO hot LOL. I guess it is miserable if it's humid so I do understand that. I like to go camping in the spring or fall and actually if we don't get to go soon then it will be too hot until fall. I think I would enjoy fishing if I could get some bites, I have gone before when I lived in WV and I would sit on the banks of the river and freeze and never got much of anything so it kinda turned me off to it. What I think would be nice is to be able to go on a nice warm day in a boat on a lake and just lounge around and fish, now that sounds like a little bit of Heaven to me and I know if I pulled a nice big catfish in I would probably be totally hooked!

Here's a little info for those that may not know, a nature lesson, this will help me in the future. db99wj, how come you didn't get down and examine it?

At first I also thought that it may not be a copperhead but after doing some research I am convinced that it is indeed a copperhead. I thought it was actually a cornsnake but notice the two pics below, something that the corn snake or water snake doesn't have (that I can find anyway) is the dots on their body. Then look back at the original snake picture we have been discussing, it has the dots. These pictures show a copperhead with a pointed tail. I was told a year ago that a snake in my yard was NOT a copperhead because it did not have a blunt tail. I wish I could find the pictures I took of it because now I am not so sure. I can't remember if it had the dots or not. The snake had crawled up onto my pond walk and had my pregnant daughter up on the cement bench screaming her head off LOL. That snake is now dead........... but I didn't kill it. Anyway, these two pictures were taken from a website discussing copperheads.

Hello Mrs. Tungsten, glad you joined. I just started getting interested in guns back last winter, got my first handgun at the beginning of November and took my permit class end of that month. I have since learned a lot. The gun you are looking at sounds interesting. When you get it be sure to take a picture of it to share.

Exactly and that is what a parent will do, protect their kids at all cost.

Ahhh how sweet, hehehe. I make Mark happy too by just enjoying shooting. The funny thing is that I really love shooting and who would of thought something I find as enjoyable as this would make him so happy.
-
OK spill Mike, Please!! LOL I have read that statement on threads before and I must be missing the funny there.

I'm not meaning to argue but I just think we always have to use common sense when it comes to danger in our lives, whether it is destroying a venomous snake or shooting to stop a threat, none of it is pleasurable but sometimes it is necessary, it is not about breaking laws and thinking that is ok, it is about surviving and most of us have that instinct in us strongly.
-
I don't think it is ok to break the law but I also believe that we were given the brains to determine if something is dangerous or not and a copperhead slithering through my back yard is dangerous so I would have to take appropriate actions. Its the same as going over the speed limit, if you go 5 over you are still breaking the law and surely you can't tell me that you don't exceed the speed limit, maybe not wreckless speeds but over is over and so does that mean you choose what laws to break? We each have to decide what is best for us and do so accordingly, I think of myself as a law abiding citizen, I don't steal, I don't kill, I don't do things that criminals do, I pay my bills etc, but I am guilty of speeding (not wreckless) and I would be guilty of killing a poisenous snake if it was in my yard. BTW, I have never killed a snake in TN.
-
Thanks and that makes sense Steve so I agree on most of it, but to me a visual of them in my yard is a threat because my grandkids play in my yard and one is only 16 months old and my dogs go out at night to potty and sometimes my husband or I go with them and I don't want any of us to be biten because we step on one not knowing it is there or my dogs getting biten. As far as being out in the woods or state parks and seeing one, I would just go on my way and let it go on it's way, I have no need to harm something in the wilderness, but the statements I made are concerning my castle yard.

Natosha, I plan to call Mr Hosse and get some info on this but I think it is probably just one day and yes June 14th is a Saturday. Once I get info I will post it here.

Angel, this org or whatever it is has things all over the state so check the webpage out as there might be something close to you. From what I see so far it looks really neat. My situation is opposite, I am the country girl and my husband is from the city but I am definitely making a country boy out of him.

Let me get this right.... if you feel threatened by a BG you can shoot to stop the threat but if you feel threatened by a poisenous snake then get over it and let it go? Hmmmmm not happening. If there is a poisenous snake in my yard it is going to the great snake pit in hell cause it ain't living where my grandchildren play or my dogs walk. I hate snakes and yes the non poisenous ones should probably be left alone but the poisenous ones are gonna die if I find them in my yard. Had a friend that was in her yard with her 3 year old son and dog, the boy was walking and almost stepped on a copperhead, the snake coiled and was ready to strike and dog jumped and grabbed snake and the fight was on. End result, thank God her son was not biten and was ok, the snake died but dog also died from snake bites, he was a little dog but brave! Its not that I want to kill stuff but if something has a propensity to cause harm then it's not hanging in my backyard!

Mike from searching I found that a holster for a Sig 239 will work with my PCR and that is what I tried at CCA when I was up there and it seemed to fit nicely. I didn't get it because it was a IWB for $105 and I'm just not ready to do that LOL, I will look around first. So when you look try for the Sig 239, it will probably work.

Does any of the ladies here take part in this? I had never heard of it until MrsS pm'd me and let me know that there was a event in Knoxville on June 14th at the John Sevier Hunter Education Range in Knoxville. I don't know how much of this pertains to this certain event but I want to find out. I would be interested in ladies self defense for sure. This is an annual event put together by TWRA and various sponsors. It is open to women 18 and up. It is an opportunity to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities. The cost is $25 and cover morning and afternoon sessions and lunch/snacks; some of the events include introduction to pistols and firearms, ladies self defense, outdoor perils, ATV introduction, among other things. If any Tennessean lady is interested or a gentleman here who thinks their significant other may be interested, can call Donald Hosse (TWRA) for information/application at 615-781-6541. . It sounds very interesting and I plan to check into it and see if it is something I would like to do. Here is a link to the TWRA. http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/outdoorswoman.html MrsS I may meet ya up there on the 14th.

New rules on guns in parks to be issued Associated Press Wednesday, April 30, 2008 U.S. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne says it's time to take a "fresh look" at the long-held ban against bringing loaded weapons into national parks and wildlife areas. Kempthorne will soon issue new rules, subject to public comment, that could loosen those restrictions to more closely resemble the gun laws of the states where the federal sites are located. Gun advocates, including the National Rifle Association, and 51 U.S. senators urged the review, including Republican Sens. Bob Corker of Tennessee and Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina. Seven former directors of the National Park Service, the Association of National Park Rangers and park advocacy organizations such as the National Parks Conservation Association oppose a change. Kempthorne defended the review Monday before addressing a "sustainable tourism" conference in Knoxville. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is a place at the bottom to comment if you register with the Knox news. It is a free registration so come gang, lets support this!!! http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/apr/30/new-rules-on-guns-in-parks-to-be-issued/

I am happy to see someone else love their CZ as much as I do mine. I absolutely understand what you are saying about it feeling "like a real gun" because it does have that affect with me also. I really like my Glock 26 and my little Kel-tec P3AT but if it came down to having to keep only one then my CZ will not be going anywhere. Mine is a compact also but is the 75D PCR which is a lot like yours, the weight, size etc is all the same but the difference is in the rail and sights from what I can tell. Mine also has the 14 round mags and the decocker. Here is a picture of mine. Someday it will have a cool set of grips on it. I also want to get the stainless steel guide rod and grip screws to set it off with style.

xd shooter, Natosha's computer is on the blink right now, the power adapter went out, so it may be a couple of days before she gets back on, I am sure she will answer you when she gets back on.

Question about Small Of Back holster
Ricochet replied to Ricochet's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Cool, I am sure you will love it, it looks a lot like my 75D PCR, the PCR doesn't have the M3 rail and the sights are shaped different. I love my PCR, I love how it shoots, I want to make it my main carry gun and I am sure I will be able too in the cooler months but not so sure for summer. -
Are you trying to confuse people???
