  1. Could be a mailbox thingy...BUT.. given the fact that it was under 6 inches of dirt, and the place where it was has not been occupied for at least 100 years.. no building or traffic etc on it.. did they have those back then?
  2. oh wow ... how neat.... I might have to wait til the next gun shoiw.. seems there is always some sort of civil war buff there.. I appreciate all the answers Tulip
  3. Went metal detecting this morning at a place and found this little thing. Its brass and has 3 pins in the back that are bent.Looked all over the net, cant find anything comparable.. Might be civil war related but not sure.. If it helps.. it was around 6 inches deep in a wooded area known to have perhaps a stagecoach or house from way back when. Cant confirm that tho.. least not yet. Anyone know or " think" they might now? please.. Its killing me to not know what this is.. And.. I did clean some of the patina off to see if it was brass.. should I not clean it anymore or make it all shiny? Thanks
  4. I think they are beautiful.. thank you for sharing them.. Eventually they will open hunting season on them.. sadly
  5. Take a drive over the mountain into Cherokee ,NC.. its interesting. Go a bit farther into Franklin NC to go Gem mining..Its nothing like the ones in Sevier county..We went for 3 days and could not get enough of it..We got actually some nice rubies, and a bunch of other semi precious stones. We had to stop after 3 days because our hands where raw.. lol The place we went to has mountains of stuff to fill up your bucket and the buckets are not seeded.. You get a big one for 5 bucks that will last your over an hour IF not longer..They get the dirt and stuff out of a very deep creek bed.. Its gobs of fun for the kids. Cherokee NC has some really nifty native american stuff, dances etc.. Head over to Townsend and Tremont .Beautiful area, lots of wildlife.. really neat area with a huge amount of Mountain Laurel, and a fast flowing big creek with some of the neatest waterfalls. Can take dogs with you tho.. Bears!! Even Cades Cove is really pretty. .I think now even in gatlingburg they have zip lines..other than that the usual tourist stuff in Pidgeon forge
  6. Didnt know you are that close to us.. do you hear Gordon wasting ammo every day? lol..
  7. Few years ago when we had that drought there where more down here.. They went to the huge pond on our road. I do hear Coyotes every day in the evening.. yapping and howling or whatever they do. We get the occasional lost cow or horse here also..
  8. Not sure on the big cats out here but I do know I seen a black bear behind my house..Ran into the house screaming like a little girl... Oh wait.. I AM a girl.. And the only huge cats we have here are my overweight 2 black ones and my 17 lbs Main Coon.. but he looks more like a Raccoon. IF they are here and non native ?( which I think is bogus ) Introduce a non native species anywhere and see what happends..
  9. Yep..sure did .. ..Just have not been on here ..

  16. We have your coffee mug. We will not harm it. It was bathed and dried and put into a dark place. It will remain unharmed unless you do not meet our demands. We will contact you later with our demands as we are quite tired right now and our bellies are full.
